When coming to Pingyao I will recommend to stay inside the old town The location of this hotel is very central to explore all the attractions. Going through the narrow alley to reach the hotel, you don't exoect to discover such and amazing and authentic stay, a beautifully restored building with modern ooms and amenities. The staff can not help enough, so helpful with everything, great recommendations for sightseeing and eating. Complimentary breakfast delivered to our room and railway station pick up and drop off. Mineral water and fruit basket during our stay and a departure gift. Overall experience was fantastic. We'll definitely recommend this hotel and stay there without hesitation again. Facilities: The facilities are very new and excellent. The bed is comfortable, and the room is warm. Cleanliness: Very clean~ Environment: The environment is good, right in the center of the ancient town, making it convenient to go anywhere. When you're tired from wandering around, you can come back to rest before heading out again. Service: The service is exceptionally good! They cater to every request~ The pick-up and drop-off service was absolutely fantastic! If you want to charter a car or book any tours, just tell the guesthouse staff, and they'll arrange everything! It's so hassle-free! They also gave us oil tea and stone cake, which were super delicious! I highly recommend staying here!

Great hotel with helpful, friendly owner. Helped us plan our visit in Pingyao and recommended food (including giving a discount for select restaurants) and attractions. Pingyao ancient town is very walkable so the location is good. Most attractions are around south street and the intersection with west/east street so are a 10-20 minute walk away, but Ma’s Courtyard is very close. Lovely, spacious room with good heating (much needed during our stay). Wet-dry separation in the bathroom was nice. We’d prefer regular towels over the provided disposable ones but that’s just our preference. Free water refills in the bedroom. Breakfast was basic but appreciated. Owner gave us a complimentary bottle of vinegar as we left, which was very nice of him. Overall, would recommend.

The front desk service was impeccable; they proactively contacted us beforehand to ask for our arrival time and arranged a complimentary pick-up service. Upon arrival, they helped with our luggage every step of the way, showing great care and thoughtfulness. During check-in, the front desk staff patiently explained the room features, provided a map, and offered travel tips and must-try local dishes. They didn't feel like mere vendors but more like warm-hearted local friends. Any issues encountered during our stay were promptly addressed by the 24-hour butler service. The hotel itself is a beautifully renovated century-old Jin merchant residence, retaining its ancient, charming courtyard layout while featuring fully modern amenities inside the rooms. We enjoyed a Mlily zero-pressure mattress paired with buckwheat and memory foam pillows. The smart home control system was incredibly convenient; a simple voice command to 'Xiaodu' could open/close curtains or adjust the air conditioning. Every detail was meticulously handled. In the evenings, the courtyard was beautifully lit with hanging lanterns, offering a lovely night view. Breakfast was an exquisite 'nine-grid' spread, balancing Jin-style specialties with both northern and southern flavors, and even included local aged vinegar for us to sample. The ingredients were fresh, and the presentation was delicate. Furthermore, the hotel's location is super convenient, just a few minutes' walk to the Ming and Qing Street and various attractions. It also boasts facilities like a gym, mahjong room, and self-service laundry. Upon departure, we even received a special souvenir. The entire experience was excellent 👍👍👍. We will definitely choose this hotel again when we return to Pingyao and highly recommend it to all friends visiting the ancient city!
