The Claymore Guest House and Apartments

We have just returned from a wonderful few days staying at the Claymore Guesthouse. Everything was spotlessly clean and tidy, the breakfast was delicious and a great way to start the day. Host Gordon was really friendly and welcoming . The bed was very comfortable and the room spacious. The Guest house is ideally situated for exploring the surrounding area with ample parking. We have already booked for next year and highly recommend the Claymore for anyone looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay.

This is the second time we have stayed at The Claymore, the first being in 2019. Since then it has changed owners but the standard of hospitality, quality of accommodation and food have stayed as high as ever. If ever in Pitlochry we shall have no hesitation in returning yet again.

I really do not understand the glowing reviews here... This is a rather tired property, located outside of the main area on a thoroughfare road with lots of traffic out front. It was not terrible, but there are certainly better options, including the property right next store. Breakfast left a good amount to be desired with very overcooked omelets and bad coffee. The staff is fine, but do not go out of their way to make you feel at home. More worried about getting back to the football game on TV than being hospitable. One of the lights in the bathroom was out making it very dim and the property itself is in need of some repairs. Bed was ok. The town is rather cute, but I would stay elsewhere.

Probably the best B&B I have ever stayed in, better than some 5 star hotels! Rooms are well appointed and very comfortable, staff are very friendly and the breakfast is simply outstanding! Very helpful discounts with local restaurants as well.

Have just left, having had a wonderful one night stay at the Claymore. Lovely big room with views, and pretty much everything you could possibly want for your stay. Immaculately clean, comfy beds, gleaming bathroom, good wi-fi. Fantastic breakfast with quality ingredients. Helpful, friendly and informative hosts. My first time and my wife’s second time here - we’ll definitely be back.

Our second stay at Claymore in the Clunie apartment. Just as before, the apartment was spotlessly clean, very spacious, very well equipped and extremely comfortable. Claymore is just the perfect location for the centre of Pitlochry being less than 5 minutes away by foot. The weather was very kind to us the first few days so we did a few local walks including up to the golf club and also around the Iron Bridge and salmon ladder. Some of the restaurants in Pitlochry are excellent with very high quality food. In particular our favourite is Fern Cottage which Gordon at Claymore recommends and you can even get a 5% off food with a card available on reception. We also ate at the Bridge which was also excellent and we treated ourselves to a posh nosh at The Green Park Hotel, again the food being first class. All in all we have had a fantastic week in Clunie apartment and Gordon once again was an exceptional host. Thank you.

Lovely guest house right in the heart of Pitlochry and a few short steps away from cafes, restaurants, shops etc. Room was extremely spacious with four poster bed and overlooking main road. Breakfasts were excellent and plentiful and the owner was lovely offering plenty of information on the surrounding area, even providing business cards for local businesses who offered his guests a glass of wine when they dined with them. Very nice touch indeed. We loved our visit of 3 nights and would most definitely return again .

4 nights in one of the two comfortable Four Poster rooms. Lovely view of the garden and hills. Enjoyed a delicious Breakfast every morning Gordon, Laureen and the team are friendly and obliging We will be booking another stay later in the year. Highly recommend Thanks guys
