Very nice Hotel

Before arriving at this hotel I was expecting it to be lively due to the reviews, however, it was anything but! If you spoke on your balcony on a evening you had a torch shined up at you and told to be quiet, I witnessed a group of lads sitting chatting with some music on been told to go inside their apartment from the angry security guard, they weren't causing any bother and every hotel I have ever been to allows some level of noise. The sunbeds are great and so is pool bar, would definitely recommend the bacon melts, barman is the best thing about the hotel so friendly and welcoming. Pool is on the small side and lifeguard is constantly on at everyone, even if there is no one else in the pool you are not even allowed a ball, although there is balls and floats on the side which encourages kids to want to use them? Hotel is clean and rooms are a decent size, however, it is out of the way and the other issues i mentioned I would definitely not be staying here again. Lastly, after leaving our apartment I remembered I had left my Michael Kors sandals under the bed, however, not even half an hour later they had gone! The receptionist radioed the cleaners I can only presume to ask and then he also let me check after the room was cleaned.

Just finished a week at the whala!. Reading the some reviews before travelling I was I bit concerned. We always book 5 star all inclusive hotels with modern decor but wanted a last minute get away in the cheap. I honestly can’t pick one fault with this hotel. There is a nice little bar with friendly staff. The rooms are basic but very clean. Cleaned every day. There is no air con which i was worried about but slept with the balcony door open and slept fine. People on other reviews complained about noise but it was nothing unusual to what you hear everywhere else on holiday. The pool is warm and clean. We had no problem getting sun loungers. Location wise its very good. 5 mins walk into town with steps and hills. If you have difficulty with hills and steps it’s a 10 mins walk all in flat walkways. There is also loads mobility scooters to hire near by. If you have children I would definitely go to Loro Parque and Siam Park. My 9 year old son loved both. But expensive but definitely worth it. All in we had a brilliant time no issues at all.

Another brilliant stay at this small hotel with a great location for the beach,the restaurants, shopping and within a pleasant stroll to Los Cristianos. The hotel is welcoming with friendly reception staff(bar 1 member), excellent pool bar staff who are always pleased to see us. We have been staying at this hotel for over 15 years and despite the recent take over with changes we will be returning in a few weeks. The rooms are always clean, the ladies do an excellent job and it is now cleaned every day,which is great. The sun beds are now all new but unfortunately there is now no option for a comfortable mat, which is ashame as they were useful before. There was also a good loyalty scheme which gave you money for drinks or a welcome fruit pack which is no longer available and we lost a good deal of money on this.Despite this, we will be returning shortly to a relaxing,pleasant stay. We look forward to seeing you again in October.

We arrived home August 21st after a 13 night stay at the Whala! My nearly 10yr old son and I had an awesome time here. The pool bar was brilliant. (If a little pricey) but the staff Tommy,Cata and the other lovely ladies made us feel so welcome and the food and drinks were always spot on! Especially the frozen Daiquiri at 9 euros! The beds were great and very comfortable and the rooms although very basic and dated were always kept clean and fresh by the fabulous housekeeping staff. Our room was over the street, I didn't experience any noise that would disturb my holiday! I felt safe and comfortable whilst my son spent 6 of the evenings with his dad who lives on the Island. The pool itself was beautiful. There was a queue for sunbeds at 9.30am, but this added to my entertainment as I was up early doors anyways. I ate breakfast many mornings in the pool bar and sauntered over to sunbeds when the pool opened at 10am! The location was good for me as I know the area well and nowhere was too far on foot. Visit Meson Castallano for a steak which is over the road on El Camison! I would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat

Fantastic hotel, spotlessly clean and warm welcoming staff! The pool area was a favourite with my children! Relaxing atmosphere and fresh and airy lounge areas. We had a late flight and were offered to leave our bags there and use of facilities even after check-out! Front office staff so friendly and always a smile for us, will definitely be back and will tell all my friends! #IRISH TRAVELLER

We have just returned home after a week at the Whala! It's a great place to stay if you are after just a basic room. Very friendly, welcoming services The hotel is clean Rooms are cleaned daily unless you specify you don't want it cleaned, Clean towels also provided daily. The pool was Clean and stict rules, no inflatables. Sun loungers were quickly filled up as soon as they opened at 10am, but were also available after dinner as people were slowly leaving.... we never had an issue with loungers. We spotted security/receptionist at night checking the area, also warning a loud group to keep the noise down as they were being loud late at night. It is located in a decent area with plenty of other places to visit within walking distance. Taxis were always available, receptionist always organised this upon request.

Just returned from this hotel although we had a great time there is a couple of things with this hotel. You are not allowed and floats in the pool or balls for children to play with, you MUST have 1 euro to hire a cup from the pool bar or they will not serve you as you have to hire each cup for 1 euro, the rooms do not have air-con and are really hot especially at night , the menu around the pool is very strict and a little expensive. The hotel is clean and tidy and overall we had a good time . It is a little out of the way about 20/25 min walk to the main pubs and shops but taxi is always there to take you. There is a local pub under one side of the building and it’s really noisy till 1am also.
