Hands down this was one of the best vacations I’ve taken. Originally, I had booked this vacation for me and my boyfriend, but as life turns out, he was not able to come. Instead, I brought my dad. The Viceroy made every accommodation to make the trip enjoyable for us both. My dad, whom is not an easy to impress person, loved his stay! What really made the vacation spectacular and truly a lifetime memory was diving with Daniel. He took us to three cenotes (The Pit, Angelita and Dos Ojos), Cozumel, and reefs out in Playa Del Carmen). His diving operation is available for booking through the Viceroy hotel. I am an experienced diver (around 100+ dives) and I can assure you that Daniel is the utmost trustworthy and dedicated diver I have met. He takes into consideration all your requested dive spots and will make sure his operation is personal and runs smoothly. From the moment you meet him, you know you’ll have an outstanding experience. I will return one day to the Viceroy to share my experience with other loved ones. So grateful for all the wonderful people and experiences that we met on our journey.

Visited as an anniversary trip. Since it was the off season, the resort wasn’t full, but the staff was no less attentive than if it was. The food was amazing, every meal was a winner. The room was very comfortable - we did have a leak one very rainy night but the staff was on top of taking care of it. The beach was lovely, and we appreciated the privacy of having our own plunge pool. Each villa has enough vegetation and fencing around it to make it very private, but none are very far from the main area. We very much enjoyed are trip and would recommend this resort.

Our villa was wonderful. It had was private and had all the amazing amenities you would want, including an outdoor shower. Immediate access to your own small dip pool, with just a 5 second walk to the pool and restaurants/bar. Highly recommend this place.

When I first booked this trip, I noticed some mixed reviews that I’d like to address. My experience was outstanding! The location is beautiful and peaceful, yet welcoming. You truly feel immersed in the jungle. The rooms are more spacious and comfortable than typical resort rooms. I was initially concerned about the beach being described as rocky, fearing it might be unusable. However, the ocean was very close and perfectly enjoyable. While there are some rocks, it didn’t hinder my ability to relax and soak in the waves. Additionally, a short walk down the beach offers a different experience if desired. Another review mentioned mosquitos as an issue. Expecting the resort to control mosquitos is like expecting a hotel in Seattle to control the rain. Yes, there are bugs in the jungle, but the resort provides ample mosquito repellent. One reviewer complained about a long uphill walk at the resort, but I found everything to be easily accessible. There was a slight uphill climb for about 20 yards, which is hardly worth mentioning. Compared to other resorts where I’ve had to walk 20 minutes to get food, navigating this resort was a breeze, and the surroundings are incredibly beautiful. Another reviewer poked at the hotness of being outside for a massage. I was there in July and I was quite comfortable having a peaceful treatment next to a natural water fall (small) and there were plenty of fans to keep me cool. Finally, I really enjoyed the food. Yes, it’s expensive to eat and drink, but that’s expected at a non-inclusive resort. Frankly, I’ve stayed at similar places, and the experience here was worth every penny. Alberto and others made the the experience so easy. I especially liked there was security on location, especially when my daughter and I decided to take an ocean dip at midnight. I'd absolutely go again and highly recommend this resort for a relaxing, magical stay. Thank you!
