When I first booked this trip, I noticed some mixed reviews that I’d like to address. My experience was outstanding! The location is beautiful and peaceful, yet welcoming. You truly feel immersed in the jungle. The rooms are more spacious and comfortable than typical resort rooms. I was initially concerned about the beach being described as rocky, fearing it might be unusable. However, the ocean was very close and perfectly enjoyable. While there are some rocks, it didn’t hinder my ability to relax and soak in the waves. Additionally, a short walk down the beach offers a different experience if desired. Another review mentioned mosquitos as an issue. Expecting the resort to control mosquitos is like expecting a hotel in Seattle to control the rain. Yes, there are bugs in the jungle, but the resort provides ample mosquito repellent. One reviewer complained about a long uphill walk at the resort, but I found everything to be easily accessible. There was a slight uphill climb for about 20 yards, which is hardly worth mentioning. Compared to other resorts where I’ve had to walk 20 minutes to get food, navigating this resort was a breeze, and the surroundings are incredibly beautiful. Finally, I really enjoyed the food. Yes, it’s expensive to eat and drink, but that’s expected at a non-inclusive resort. Frankly, I’ve stayed at similar places, and the experience here was worth every penny. Alberto and others made the the experience so easy. I'd absolutely go again.

This was our second visit to the Viceroy and it didn’t disappoint. From the moment we arrived to the day we left it was simply wonderful. The whole Viceroy team offer stand out customer service and demonstrate care in everything they do creating a truly first class experience for all customers. The food and wine offer is of the utmost quality, matched to the standard and quality of what is a superb beachfront resort. We look forward to our next visit ❤️

The hotel itself is beautiful and sophisticated, with every amenity one could need for a comfortable stay. The staff are warm and accommodating, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. Be aware that the drive up is on an unpaved road with quite a few potholes, so plan accordingly. It does not have the large touristic vibe of the other hotels on the beach in this area. The dining experience was great—food was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, though on the pricier side. One thing to note is that this hotel seems to be a popular spot for honeymooners, which adds a romantic vibe to the ambiance. My only real critique is the cost of in-room extras. For instance, a medium-sized bottle of Fiji water was priced at $18, and each Nespresso pod came in at $4, which felt excessive. Overall, this is a lovely place to stay with exceptional service, but be prepared for premium pricing on in-room items.

We have thought about vacationing at the Viceroy several times over the past few years but always ending up booking at a different resort. That was a mistake. This is hands down the best resort in the Cancun / Rivera Maya region. That includes previous stays at Banyan Tree, Grand Velas, Ritz Carlton, The Finest, and The Beloved. We had the best 7 nights at the resort in our beachfront villa. The sound of the ocean at your private pool or while you sleep in the villa was amazing. We had the best service and food. What separates a great resort from others is what happens when things go wrong. One night during terrible storms (what eventually became Hurricane Milton in the US) our roof leaked onto the bed. Within minutes, housekeeping was there to change the bed after maintenance came and placed a tarp on the roof over the leak. Things happen but they responded immediately and fixed it. The beach food and drink service is the best of anywhere we have ever stayed. William and Pepe were truly amazing. Always around and anticipating our needs. Even made dinner reservations for us several nights. Edgar was very helpful when we needed a pharmacy. He arranged for a taxi and even told the driver which one to go to for the best selection and prices. The waiters were excellent as well. Andreas, Victor, Carlos, and Miguel were all excellent. Overall, a very relaxing quiet vacation. We will definitely be coming back to the Viceroy!

Our team held our annual in-person retreat at the property, and it was truly a unique and memorable experience. We received top-notch service from the staff, including Pepe, who expertly managed our large group at the pool and beach each day. The hospitality team was equally impressive, assisting with spa appointments and organizing excursions off the property. The venue itself was magical, blending a jungle atmosphere with wild animals, all while maintaining an air of luxury and sophistication.

This resort feels like you are in two different worlds—jungle and beachfront. We had a private pool on the patio of our villa. We had an outdoor shower which felt like you were in a jungle. The pool/beach area was stunning. But what made this resort so special was the way you were treated. The customer service and attention to detail was excellent. We would recommend this over and over again.
