Just don’t do it. Cringe worthy, we would have gladly paid the cash and then went and found somewhere else. Unfortunately for us an extremely busy weekend for Plymouth due to all of the live music on the Hoe. Im sure the owner is trying but there comes a time when it just doesn’t cut the mustard

Booked Citadel House because the location was perfect and the price was right. Stayed here for six nights right in the middle of the plymouth uni graduation dates! All other B&B’s and most certainly the other hotels prices had gone up but not here. Plenty of street parking , yes you need a parking ticket but you do anywhere in Plymouth. About 8 mins walk to the city centre and about the same along the coastal path to the Barbican . Had no problems with my room and no disturbance from other guests . Great water pressure from the shower and bedding lovely and clean and smelt so fresh. Citadel House is room only as are many guest houses now but there are plenty of cafes serving breakfast ect near by. Owner was a genuinely friendly and welcoming as was the house keep who asked regularly if I needed anything for the room.

Read the reviews. This came up in a filtered search for B&B’s en-suite with parking. Parking is on road where the owner provides a voucher at £8 a day. Although photos show a breakfast room and the photo of the sign outside says breakfast and en-suite no breakfast is served so with parking budget for an extra £20 per night, which takes this out of budget. The room had a shower but a shared toilet, not an experience I have seen for years. I have stayed in cleaner places and dirtier. Had no issue with the host but think she is past doing the full hotel experience..

Just say NOPE! the worst place I ever stayed while travelling alone in any country ! READ THE REVIEWS they are mostly all terrible and for good reason ! The owner is dishonest and will charge you and double charge you , she even hacked my account to rebook my room after a fall down the steps from this run down caused me to go to the trauma ward and i had to stay with a friend. The rooms are numbered to decieve you as to what floor you are staying on and there is no lift so its quite dangerous to traverse the stairs, i could have died laying at the bottom of the stairs unconscious and then trying to get someone attention at the desk for 9 hours! Because once the have your money thats only time they will come to the bell , there is actually a toilet OUTSIDE THE BATHROOM for shared use MOST IMPORTANTLY .. .She did some funny business with my travel account and rebooking my room and using my credit card and got paid for five full days instead of the one night cancelation fee , shes a liar and a thief just look how many people have been " robbed " in their locked rooms and how many people hated the tiny dirty rooms full of broken needles ! She wouldnt know the truth if it was a snake and came up and bit her and has zero concern for the guests or their welfare ,once shes got your money you will never see her again. In addition to the criminal matter of her using my private account to make sure i was not given a refund because was injured in her place so badly i had to be somewhere i could be watched 24/ 7 was absolutely outrageous and is being taken up by local authorities and my bank in the usa. She was absolutely horrible about it , the little blonde one . My friend said the other one was much nicer when she went to get my things but they had left my room unlocked all night , things were missing from my room and she didnt even check who it was picking up all my things. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS

Good location, reasonable walk to station which was what we needed, close to Plymouth Hoe. Comfortable, flat sceen TV, free effective wi-fi, en-suite ok. Plenty of coffee and tea for in-room hot drink facilities. Very friendly owner. A good and reasonably priced stay, would book again.

I stayed at the accommodation with my mum, it was meant to be a treat for my mum but I felt embarrassed with what I’d booked. I seriously considered going elsewhere but mum said it would be fine. I didn’t read the reviews before booking obviously. We were on the 3rd floor so the pressure in the shower was a slow trickle. The beds were very old and dirty, I asked for the dirty quilt cover to be changed, the carpet was also grubby so we did not go barefoot in the room (or even in just socks) Only one plug extension cable worked so the kettle was on the floor as the socket near the tea tray did not work. There were loose teabags and old sachets but we didn’t touch that lot. The en-suite was very old, tired and mouldy. There was no breakfast and the dining room is not even equipped if you wanted to have your d-I-y breakfast in there. The only good thing was the location and thankfully it was a sunny weekend so we didn’t have to be in the accommodation that much. Wi-Fi was very hit and miss.

I booked thinking that the hotel was a member of a chain/franchise. It wasn't but instead it was independent, incredibly clean and a really great place to stay. Ideally located, great value and friendly owner. No hesitation in recommending. We will stay there again.

For the price asked per double room we expected more. No complimentary tea or coffee - or indeed kettle, then no breakfast either.... For £85 ? The room and en-suite were tired but clean. We did get a free £5 parking voucher. I'll leave it there.
