We loved our experience at Bamurru Plains, it's a very special experience in a very special location. Without exception the staff were amazing and the tours incredible...the airboats, as most people have said, are the highlight but the afternoon safaris are also special. The guides are knowledgeable and really add to the experience. I liked the fact that we got to know a couple of them a little bit better when they hosted dinner. Dinner, like all meals, was exceptional, Tiffany and her team created some magic in the kitchen which defied the remote location. The accommodation is unique, very clean and l loved the 'tent' feel that connects you with the environment and wildlife and birdlife, it's very special! It was around 35 degrees each day we were there and it was hot in the room but fine if you are directly below the roof fans... the pool is also a good place to hang out in the afternoon. I can see why some people might struggle with the heat but l would (and will) be back.

Substandard accommodation. Room had no aircon in extreme heat, no bar fridge. Sealing for room inadequate so soon learned not to turn the lights on. Was attacked by bugs at night until I felt like a decomposing corpse with gnats crawling through the ceases of my neck. Staff are delightful, friendly and hardworking. Food excellent. This place is not the standard of the equivalent glamping places where I’ve been.

Fabulous location right on the wetlands, we were here towards the end of the season and the wildlife was more concentrated on the water that was left. The airboats were amazing, but if this was not available (not enough water) there would be not many things to do. For the money paid there should be air conditioning in every tent, not just a few. It was 35C and did not cool down until about 1am and then I could sleep, just too hot without the choice of aircon. Didn't like the water buffalo and cattle poo everywhere and dirt paths so that feet needed washing constantly. Liked the plains and watching wildlife out there.

Excellent safari experience. Fantastic accommodation, we managed to score an air conditioned cabin. Loved the communal meals. Food and service exceptional. Airboat safaris a highlight. Abundant wildlife across the wetlands. Gin and canapés on Jeep safaris, the cherry on top. Be mindful it is a treak in on unsealed roads, most people arrive by plane.

We travelled to Bamurru as a group of friends seeking the right mix of adventure and luxury. A milestone birthday celebration - this trip needed to deliver once in a lifetime experiences, side by side with quality downtime, complete disconnection from the outside world, and the most magical memories. Bamurru did not disappoint! From sunrise to sunset, this incredible team (and nature) delivers! Closing your eyes to a tapestry of stars, waking up to bird song, watching the march of nature across the floodplain (from your pillow!) - incomparable. We were ferried from one adventure to the next with no concern for preparation or planning. Every detail was covered from morning coffees to sunset G&Ts as the team crafted the ideal experience to fit the moment (or whatever nature threw at them) - all we had to do was soak it in! Bamurru’s guides are incredible. Knowledgeable, passionate...gentle with our silly questions! What they don't know, they'll find out for you, but to be honest, we were hard pressed to find those gaps! That extends to all staff on site - genuinely lovely and 100% invested in making your trip magical! We’d heard the Top End will draw you in, but none of us were quite ready for just how much! Flora, fauna, history, culture - you’re in the hands of passionate experts, ready to share knowledge on all fronts - with an open mind and genuine curiosity, you’ll go home enlightened, refreshed, and likely a little bit changed. If you have the opportunity to make the day trip into Kakadu – do it. A privilege to experience it through the eyes of our amazing guide Leigh, and the extended team who made it happen. Humbling, authentic, thought provoking – it really does take your breath away – we were so grateful for all that Leigh shared - a special and unforgettable experience. We'd finish each day by the pool – compare stories with fellow guests then settle in for incredible fare, Australian wines, and beautiful produce - expertly matched and served with love and pride (rightly so!) It really is a special kind of magic that happens when you’re wrapped in a world without distraction - immersed in knowledge shared by people genuinely passionate about what they do and the impact it creates. Bamurru is that magic! Thank you to all the staff and the extended team for making this an unforgettable and oh so special adventure! Everything we could have hoped for and more - highly recommend!

This buffalo station is overpopulated by buffalo, and the available food supply has been devoured by all the animal. They look sick and hungry and I had to stay in my room for the last 24 hours of the trip as I could not stand stand to see the animal suffering. African Wildlife Safaris/ Natural Focus bill this very expensive 9 day holiday as a luxury tour, The second place we stayed, Bullo River Station was magnificent. The first place, Faraway Bay, was rustic (at best), remote, and made of corrugated iron. Certainly not luxurious. The staff were great, but not the facilities. For the price of this holiday, I was very disappointed. I let AWS know and they said they would amend their website to reduce expectations of future clients, but as yet they have not done so.

We recently had a 3 night stay. Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing and under delivered on the advertised offering and was grossly overpriced for what was delivered. To be more specific on a rating of 1 to 5. - Location - 5/5 - Accommodation - 3.5/5 (rustic but comfortable, albeit +$120 / night for air conditioning when you are already paying $3,000 a night nothing short of offensive) - Guide Staff - 5/5 (exceptional young people passionate about the environment and the work they do) - Management – 2/5 (no day to day oversight or active interest in the customer experience) - Excursions - 2.5/5 (of the excursions offered many were not available river cruise, quad bikes, guided walks and of the excursions provided, namely air boats and Safari drives the equipment was on the verge of being life expired and badly in need of maintenance) - Capacity - 3/5 (advertised max 26 guests, had 32 guests incl 9 children, that overstretched the available facilities) - Food (all inclusive) - 2/5 (no choice, fixed menu poorly prepared - breakfast 4/5, lunch 2/5, dinner 2/5, limited snacks) - Wine (all inclusive) - 2/5 (advertised as premium, what was offered was well below that category) - Value for Money - 2/5 (way overpriced, with some improvement to the facilities $1,500 / might be justified) - Website - 2/5 (misleading oversell that overstates what is actually provided) If I was to provide advice to future travellers, it would be DON’T DO IT until major changes are made and the value for money equation is addressed.

What can I say, this was the exact 'circuit breaker' my daughters and I needed and could not have asked for a more wonderful place to rest, relax, be spoilt and see some of the most amazing sights in this country. Being off grid and remote was exactly what we were looking for - not just for us but being with others on tours, by the pool or at meals meant no-one was taking calls, and phones were not buzzing. There were wonderful conversations everywhere and at times just beautiful silence too to watch and observe nature around you. My girls commented how much longer the days seemed when time was just spent being present in what was happening. The guides were amazing. A really good mix of knowledge and if they were not sure they went and found out and came back with all sorts of amazing information for us, pictures in books and further information. They were all fabulous and we found the time taken to answer our questions - no matter how many, was from genuine interest in us. Josie with her bugs in jars, Isaac who took us on a walk to look at the micro world and kept coming back to us with more and more details on all we saw, Bailey his obvious love of his job and talking to us about the animals and life there, Roo with his bird knowledge and the best GandT maker from an esky I could hope for and that was just four of the guides - each were amazing. We learnt so much about nature and the world around us that week. The guides on the boats, vehicles, and walks were so keen to share Bamurra with us and obviously loved what they do. We did the one-day tour to Kakadu and we could not have asked for a more knowledgeable, respectful of the environment, interesting and fun guide in Dan. My girls bombarded him with questions all day from why no sheep are there, to how is that plant used in medicine, and he answered each with such thought and knowledge. Dan drove us for hundred of kms, got us to where we needed to be and we had amazing flight with Jamie to get us to Jabiru to start the day, 500ft down the river and along the escarpment - amazing. We loved that day. We just had to be at the main lodge at a time, everything was sorted, vehicles ready, cold water for everyone and in the afternoon an esky with a g&t (or drink of your choice) with fresh made canapes. All enjoyed on the water watching the sunset is an experience not to miss! We were lucky to stay 6 nights and, in that time, ate the most amazing meals, from the most tender and perfectly cooked beef to meals of salmon and barramundi and scallops, incredible fig and chicken salads for lunch - individually ordered and cooked breakfasts - such a treat. I have a vegetarian daughter and one who does not eat red meat - we prearranged with the chef, and they had "the best meals ever" quote unquote and were constantly asked what variations they might like. Such thoughtfulness. The camp assistants made sure our room was clean and tidy each day, the beds were incredible, the views from everywhere in the roo
