For us, it seemed that there were many corners cut just to save a few bucks. Didnt seem to warrant belonging to the Best Western brand, and thus we didnt get what we expected. When it is stated to included things like breakfast and a pool, they should be useable. They didnt put out enough food even an hour before closing. The pancake maker didnt work. They seemed frugal and just didnt want to spend much on breakfast. The pool was freezing cold and not heated at all. I didn’t see anyone using it. Kids were disappointed and they will usually swim in anything. The hot/cold water was reversed on the faucets and shower. Almost burned myself. The towels were worn out and like sandpaper. Grout on the old tiles were stained and chipped. No steam/odor exhaust fan in the bathroom, and couldn’t open the window much since it opened right to the front walkway. Front Door didnt close properly. Carpet padding worn out. The only EV charger was in a handicap spot and a Telsa was parked there the whole time. I did appreciate the location of the multiple sinks, the comfortable beds, and the good water pressure. The staff were friendly, and the exterior was nice. I didn’t expect a resort, but for the price and brand, I would have expected more consistency, at least for breakfast. Better just not to offer it. Franchise owner gets to get away with doing the bare minimum. Next time we come for Apple Hill, we will stay towards Placerville.
