Top Hotels with Gyms in Port Douglas

The hotel is very far away. In Douglas Town, we went to Cairns by boat for an hour. I am a Platinum Member of Marriott. Sheraton gave me a wine and it was said that the room type was upgraded. But they told me I was not a Platinum member, wasn't it funny? The hotel facilities are good, the scenery is very beautiful, the swimming pool is very large, parking is free, and there are golf courses, but the hotel is located in a tropical rain forest, there are a lot of bugs, and there are cockroaches and small flying insects everywhere in the corridor. It will be stinging, the room is still quite large, and the bathroom is also large. If the hotel can pay attention to cleanliness, the business should be better, which is not comparable to the Gold Coast Sheraton. In addition, I want to tell people who live here not to go to a Chinese restaurant called Jadeinn in Douglas. The owner ’s 10,000-percent Hong Kong independence is simply not dead. We stayed at Peppers for Christmas and New Year holiday. The location is great for walking distance into town and walking to 4 mile beach is an easy walking distance as well. The oil is great and very kids friendly with a nice Sandy shallow edge all the way around. We have a ground floor room with a spa bath and this was used a lot in the evening to relax, you don’t have full privacy so wear your swim suit but that’s no problem. The rooms are nice and comfortable for two people. The breakfast is not buffet style you order off a menu and they have almond milk which is great if you are like me and enjoy a almond mocha or hot chocolate. The only downside I have to this place is they don’t give you complimentary water in your room. Nor is there a water fountain where you can fill up your bottles during the day? Unless I’m missing something but they try to be eco friendly with their room service cutlery and food packaging but no eco friendly options for water. I drink anywhere from 1-3 litres of water a day especially up in a tropical climate. So definitely a few water fountains installed around the place would be amazing. Some places I’ve stayed have both still and sparkling water fountain options. Other than that we had a great stay and the staff were really nice, the small gym is good for a quick cardio and simple weights workout and the layout we had no trouble with. Room was ok, on the smaller side, basic. Could do with a freshen up, I.e. rubbish bin in bathroom with rusting lid. TV ok, had foxtel, no streaming services. Quiet enough at night to sleep, but noisy otherwise, pool means kids up early playing and could hear people in halls/above. Not ideal if you want a holiday sleep in. Pool was nice, quite cool in temperature. Music definitely too loud, hard to relax with it cranking all day. Given the reviews was better than I expected, but wouldn’t want to stay for a long trip here. More a motel than a hotel/resort.

Awful experience. When we first arrived it was great. Lovely service then it all went down hill. We were given keys to someone else’s room so when we opened the door someone else’s things were everywhere in there. We then went back to reception and they moved us to another room right next door to the laundry mat and also a lift that was being renovated. When I asked about noise and if this was on their website they said an email was sent out. This was not the case had we of known we would have looked elsewhere. I asked how close to the noise it was and she said we were 3 rooms away. Again when we checked in. Our room was directly next to the lift. I asked if we could moved and was advised they were fully booked (this wsd not the case as we checked the website and there was rooms available) we then asked to speak to the supervisor and was met with a very inexperienced unprofessional young man who proceed to do absolutely nothing about it and offer us $25. Are you kidding! He said he would email it over. $25 would barely buy a garlic bread in their restaurant. when we did finally go to the restaurant we said we wanted to use the voucher. We checked our emails and had nothing. The gentlemen’s then said we needed a physical voucher from reception which we didn’t get. Again focussing on the “managers” incapabilities . Hardly compensation for the horrible experience. We then went to our room and overnight the air conditioner didn’t get what felt below 27 degrees and the room was awfully warm. It also makes a horrible noise so now we had a sleepless night to top it off. Awful awful experience and I won’t be back or recommending this hotel. If your going to stay in port Douglas do yourself a favour and stay closer to the Main Street as this is also about a 7 min drive to the shops and nightlife.

The surrounding environment is wonderful. All the facilities in the room were new and clean. It was nice to be able to check in immediately after showing the reserved copy.

I want to take the whole family with me next time. The food is good. The hotel staff are friendly. The bed wasn't particularly small.

The hardness of the bed is just right. The hotel who responds is kind. The location of the hotel is excellent. It is a hotel I want to stay again.

The breakfast is good. The swimming pool is suitable for children. The location of the hotel is more convenient to find by car. We checked in after dark. The parking lot is free. Many parking spaces are right in front of the check-in point. Very convenient
