Lovely hotel, relaxed atmosphere, great food, lovely rooms, dogs welcome , great staff and all at very reasonable price. Open fires and sympathetic decor. Right on a lovely cove and easy walk into Port Isaac Very enjoyable stay will definitely return.

New management were really friendly and it was a great place to shelter from the storm for a while, good ambiance, with candles and a real fire to keep us warm, hope to get back there when the weather is nicer as just a short walk from Port Isaac. .

We ended up in the pub after a very windy walk down the road from Port Isaac during storm Darragh. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. There was no electricity, so they got the wood fire burning and candles on the table. As the tills weren't working all pints were £5 cash. We had a lovely afternoon. Our B&B told us that the pub has new owners, so don't judge this pub based on old reviews

Ryan our server was absolutely fantastic, the food was lovely and very welcoming to our dogs who joined us. Great value for money and will be returning as its a great local spot with fab service and food Definitely recommend the fish and chips, and good wine selection.

Fruitless phone calls ,failure to reply to e mails and on off on booking on line.Tried to book Christmas and eventually went elsewhere. Let us hope the new owners can get a grip on what was a well run friendly hotel in a superb setting and close to Port Issac

We have loved coming to the PGH for years, to stay, to eat or just for a drink. Normally you could rely on well-kept beer, delicious food and friendly, professional staff. But when we arrived for our reserved dinner slot on 14 November the hotel was locked and dark. A sign at the door said it would reopen on 14th … it didn’t. When we left Port Isaac on 17th the sign had changed to “closed until further notice”. St Austell Brewery needs to get a grip but just as urgent is the need to update the website and communicate with customers who have booked. Let’s hope this is all resolved very soon.
