Avoid this hotel…not a nice place…awful service…food not fresh…this hotel has an negative feeling about it..Our Son Charlie hated it. I would not recommend this establishment & feel there are far better places in the area..such a shame this establishment has moved away from its morals.

I booked this for a team of 8 to work in Ireland for a week. From first contacting the hotel to discuss accommodation and prices to leaving on the Friday we could not fault anything. The super friendly staff on reception made the booking process easy and the hotel is just beautiful. The location was perfect, the rooms are beautiful, bright, clean and very comfortable. The food was amazing and the staff beyond amazing, we literally felt like we were home from home. A particular shout out to Ernie who went above and beyond for us (with some lovely, funny fascinating stories along the way). A wonderful man. Also the two lovely young men working the bar on an evening, they were so polite and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. I would highly recommend this gem of a hotel to anyone. Hopefully we get the chance to return.

Stayed here 5 years ago in a superior double room which was large and spacious but no bath. So I called in Jan 2024 to book a room with a bath and was told I nee to book a luxury double and I would get a bath.So I booked one for three nights in May On arrival I was given the smallest room in the hotel with a tiny bathroom and shower so small I could hardly stand in it. The shower was grubby and the grouting yellow and dirty. The tap on the hand basin was loose and just swivelled around . The sky channel would not work despite them trying . The mattress was unforgiving. I was told I should have requested a bath on the booking form but having been told I would get one, only put gluten free on special request. Worse still I had a dreadful night's sleep with doors constantly banging throughout the night and I discovered the room was directly above the main entrance and reception. The main entrance door was just left to bang every few minutes till around mid night as diners left. Then the door to the reception office kept banging every 15/20 mins as the night porter went in and out. I even went down at 3,30am to tell him to please close it quietly. I checked out next morning after breakfast which was second rate and btw served by the night porter. To their credit the hotel did give me a £50 refund.

My wife and I called in for lunch. The dining room was a delight with old world elegance. We had the senior citizens special of haddock, chips and veg followed by in my case, a good old fashioned apple crumble and coffee. All for £15 each Great meal, lovely staff and great value. Would definitely recommend this place.

Had the nicest Sunday Roasts, the Turkey & Ham and the Roast Beef were really lovely. Good portions sizes, a large side of seasonal veg and an extra boat of gravy included. Finished off with one of the nicest sticky toffee puddings we’ve ever had. Very friendly staff and food was on the table in no time at all. We will be back again soon.

Second time staying here. Plenty of free parking. Checkin very friendly and efficient. Room up stairs no lift here. Room was so clean and fresh no dust or stains. Bed very comfortable. Bathroom very small but adequate don’t think I would like it for a longer stay. There is a beautiful long window in the room which had a blind on it. Unfortunately the light shone through it blackout curtains are needed. The hotel is so well kept everywhere no dust or stains. Staff so helpful breakfast was in the beautiful dining room no self service here. Food and drinks all brought to your table freshly made. Hope to stay again as it is a perfect hotel for a break.

Good hotel. Everything very pleasant. Very nice building with car parking. Spacious and very cosy room. With all amenities needed. Very small bathroom, it's really the only big minus. Restaurant with good food but a poor service. Very good breakfast.

We really enjoyed our stay. Staff was all very friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable and room looked just like the photos. Wifi would come and go but that would be our only complaint. Lovely grounds, free parking, I would recommend.

My wife and myself enjoyed a stay at the Belmont recently. I must say from the moment we arrived at reception, till the following morning when we checked out the staff were ever so friendly and helpful. The room was fab with garden views, large bed and usual TV, furniture and un-suite. The only negative was the toilet having a very poor flush and the drain on the shower was slow to empty, possible issue with the drains. We were surprised to find out that there is a bar in a basement, again it was spotless and had a more contemporary style with a well stocked bar. The young staff were very attentive and busy taking orders up to the restaurant and bedrooms, we did ask for a cocktail menu and this couldn't be located but the staff were happy to explain the cocktails they serve. The staffing of the bar when we returned after our meal was hit and miss at times with other guests going up to bring it to the attention of staff as the evening progressed. We booked in for a meal and the food couldn't be faulted, very talented chef. The menu was quiet extensive and the service again was excellent. The following morning we took advantage of the breakfast, again it couldn't be faulted I choose so cereal and a cooked breakfast which was of high quality produce cooked to prefection. Thanks to all the staff for the great stay.
