Wonderful place to stay. Very close to Praia da Rocha, supermarkets, coffee shops, restaurants and bars. I really recommend staying here in this apartment.

Everything was very dirty and untidy, and although the receptionist kindly changed my room, the other one was the same or worse. They said they would come to clean it and they only touched one part, the rest was still the same, and when I complained they told me that the team was doing what they could. It was really disappointing.

Great location. The cleaning of the apartment could be better, until the dishes were not dirty.

The fact of not doing the check in/out at the place is very uncomfortable. It's not a hotel, don't call it a hotel, it's rooms in a building. I want to know if you pay back the expenses caused by this. For the rest everything is perfect location, comfort, anyway. I hope they let passengers know the first address so we don't have to go and come back. Thanks.

Terrible reception, they do not instruct on how the building works, it is not a HOTEL but an apartment rental system. They made us walk a lot of KM on the day of checkin, you must get the key in another building before going to the apartment. Good thing we didn't order it with breakfast, because it didn't even have it.. very complicated…

I feel the review by Bronny2 Camelford, United Kingdom in Oct 2023 is fair and people need to read her assessment before booking Tarik by Atlantichotels. It is year on and nothing has changed. It has to be the longest distance between a room and reception going. I find it hard to believe Atlantichotels cannot come up with a better solution for booking clients in and out. Atlantichotels have 40 apartments in the Tarik which is more than some hotels have rooms. There are several what apppear to be unused rooms on the ground floor, one of which they could rent and use as a reception. Atlantichotels need to recognise that first impressions are often the strongest

Me and my mum arrived here from 4-7th March. We got dropped off by our transfer which was all booked through love holidays. One hour in a small crammed van seating 9 people. We were the last to get dropped off and once we got into reception we asked to check in and the man on the desk just looked at us and told us no (didn’t speak a word of English) so we asked what he meant by that which he just shrugged his shoulders. He then pointed at a map on the desk and pointed to a destination which was roughly a mile away. So I called our transfer company and they said they knew nothing about it. So I then tried to locate the place he was pointing at. It was another hotel by Atlantichotels. I called and the woman on that desk was lovely and spoke very good English to which she told us we had to walk there to collect the keys to check in to our apartment. All the man on my hotel reception done though was look at us and shrug which was very rude and unhelpful. So we ended up walking upto this hotel with our suitcases because our receptionist said he can’t take out luggage while we walked there. We got the keys and a code which unlocks our door (both which you need to use) but the woman wanted €200 from us as a deposit incase “we break anything” but as we were only there for 3 nights we only brought €250 so we told her no as we would only have 50 left to do us. Once we got a taxi back the reception at our place was closed with barriers down at the desk. Again not very helpful because what if someone came to check in. We walked into the room and immediately was disgusted. Coffee stains on the coffee table, dirty floor, a “mopped” bathroom which has streaks on it. Cracked tiles, a big dark stain on the curtain, a ***** hair on the bed sheets, mould in the creases where the window opens. Just not great at all and not once did any housekeeper or maid come in so we had to use the same towels for 4 days. Don’t get me wrong the area itself it beautiful, we went at the wrong time of year tho as a lot of it was closed or quiet but those Atlantichotels is not the place to be. Go elsewhere.

Stayed here with my son for a week in May . The apartment is in a great location, literally metres from the beach & main *****. It’s located on quite a steep hill so it’s not great for anyone with mobility issues, although we were able to find alternative walking routes to avoid this! You have to collect & return the key to the Plaza Real Hotel which is a five minute drive away. The apartment itself was nice, but we booked a twin room & were given a double which meant my son having to sleep on a super uncomfortable sofa bed. I think this is a common issues as some other travellers we spoke to also had the same problem. The apartment was fairly well equipped, with basic cooking utensils & a large fridge, towels etc. My only gripe is it could have been a lot cleaner as there were lots of marks, dust & hair everywhere, which was a shame. Apart from that would definitely recommend.

When arrived at the place had to then go yo another hotel to pick up the keys ghfn back to the apt. Receptionist didn't speak any English and was also rudish trying to explain to him on the phone translator. The apartments very basic . Was only given a few towels which we had to use the whole week unless you wanted to pay an extra £20 which wasn't told about. No cleaner either to change the bed etc. Doors were a code which u had to put on the door handle and didn't work straight away. Took us several times to redo.nothing to do there and this place is certainly not for a family. Only good thing about it that it was 3 mins walk to beach . I don't normally give a review but on this occasion I think people should know about this place. Would certainly not go or recommend this place to stay . Also not told that you have to leave a £200 deposit on a credit card for any breakage etc but you hsve to pay this at a different hotel and also u get dropped off at the apts then taxi to the other place to get sorted out. Transfer is then again to another hotel to drop keys off even leaving then a taxi again to the place where u are picked up to be taken back to airport. So added to this u need extra money for taxi fares

Absolute disgusting rat hole. They expect you to collect and drop off the keys at a different hotel 1 and a half kilometres away and ask for a £200 deposit to make sure you comply. Horrible place. Picture not of the actual apartment. The worst apartment in Portimau. I couldn’t spend one night in that flea pit. Never again.

1 star awarded for its location to the beach & restaurants Firstly be aware that you need to collect your keys from plaza real where they will insist on a 200€ security deposit for damages before they will give you the keys. We knew nothing about this extra payment as it was not in our paperwork with love holidays. Don't bother with the reception staff at tarik as they are not employed by them. This is in fact an apartment block where people live, there is no parking & our room was serviced once in a fortnight. If you want it done more that will cost you 20€ per clean. The apartment kitchen is well equipped, microwave, hotplate, toaster, kettle, juicer, blender, cutlery, crockery, cooking implements & fridge however there is no hairdryer or balcony furniture, we had to move chairs outside if we wanted to sit on the balcony. Very limited storage for clothes - only 1 small rail & a shelf. No bedside cabinets or dressing table. Praia da rocha is a great beach, spacious & very accessible with a boardwalk stretching the whole length. Great selection of restaurants - highly recommend Mira over the road from the hotel for traditional portuguese cooking. There's a nice quiet bar called moment in the next road & the local spar has everything you need for self catering. Tarik was a huge disappointment & the security deposit for "damages" .......when we checked out at the other hotel they didn't even ring anyone to check if our room was OK & as it had been more than 10 days the money had already been returned to my account so that was pointless! Nice beach, don't stay here.

Basic apartment itself was fine although I ordered a twin room and got a double. The multiple digit code you had to use to open the door worked intermittently and was extremely awkward to use. The reception isn't part of the Tarik aprtment deal. It's totally separate so unhelpful most of the time. They also have no english so bring a translator app! On a positive note the location is perfect. A 5 min walk to the ***** which is just above the beach. I would never go back to this place.

We stayed here in July, First of all we went into the apartments receptionist and he was very very rude couldn’t speak English didn’t help us with anything, the other problem is getting the key because it’s in another hotel, the apartments and very basic and simple obviously as a couple we would want a double bed and we got 2 single ones that we had to push together afterwards and it’s not comfortable because we were always afraid of falling between them, no shampoo luckily I was bringing my own you have to pay to get your room cleaned and pay for a hairdryer only good thing about the apartments are the views and how close it is to everything would definitely not return to theses apartments but would definitely return to Praia da Rocha.
