The overall feeling is good, but it is a bit strange that there is no desk in the room, and the toilet seat in the bathroom is really bad and it moves. Also, children cannot use the swimming pool after 20:00.

Everything is good, except for the check-in connection at the front desk.

There are no words to express my frustration about my stay. This is not my first Ritz Carlton that I stayed in. I’ve been to many but this hotel lacks in every aspect of cleanliness, service and experience. Front staff doesn’t know what’s going on, in room washroom floor is full of hairs and stained carpet (and it’s a new hotel). 1 bathrobe in a room and no slippers. No soap, no wash cloth. Cleanness was way below than average. No minibar in the hotel rooms and when I asked front staff they just gave me weird look. Surprising. It took IRD more than an hour to bring breakfast in my room. There is no manager available to talk or even to listen. Went to pool, it was unhygienic and not clean at all. No wipes in the gym to sanitize equipments. I stayed in 9 different Ritz Carlton hotels and they all were superb. Staying at Ritz Carlton Portland felt like motel. Never coming back to this hotel.

Arriving at our 53rd anniversary meant I had to get out of the routine route and veer into the express lane of luxe and we spent two nites in the new Ritz in downtown Portland. Open almost a year, they have broken in the staff and the "Ritz Way" has taken root. From the gentleman aiding the crew at valet parking to the bellmen (Peter) operating with dispatch and standing behind us at check-in, to the front desk attendants, everything was smooth and fluid like. Each of my notes and requests were met beautifully. We had dinner in the centerpiece of the Bell Pine. Dinner for three, with a corkage fee and cocktails ran, with grat, $250. Spendy? Yes, but for a high touch event, we gladly paid. Lani was a delightful server who had a special gift awaiting our return to our room hand delivered by Kyle. When our daughter arrived, she was escorted by security to our room. They take no risks. We couldn't take advantage of the infinity pool and exercise room but they rivaled any spa at a resort. Notwithstanding the street noise in the morning the place is so quiet. This addition to the downtown Portland scene is welcomed.

Wonderful rooms! Fashionable, understated without playing too heavily on Pacific Northwest themes. Certainly a nice new option when visiting friend and family back home. Friendly staff - terrific service by all we encountered. Views from restaurant are great (and food is quite good). A little speedy for the Portland market. Other options are a better value, but nice to have an RC in Portland. (Oh, and super close to Powell’s Books.)

It’s been decade since I’ve been back to Portland and work has brought me back a couple of times over the past two months. The first time I stayed at the nines and while I can appreciate the historic building and the staff were definitely doing their best to make my stay an enjoyable one, I do have to say The hotel itself seems like it seen better days and felt a little on the shabby and sad side. It actually colored my feelings about Portland as a whole. When I came back, I decided to stay at the Ritz Carlton. To say the experience is night and day is an understatement. From The moment you step into the doors and are greeted by that proprietary fresh scent, and a general unrushed feeling of excellence, you know you’re where you’re supposed to be. The public spaces are pristine and welcoming. The room was next level comfortable. Quiet, excellent lighting, soft bedding and a ridiculously comfortable bed. Excellent water pressure and a terrifically large bathtub. The views are spectacular as well, and I would suggest asking for a high floor with an eastern view. Hats off to Brian, the concierge and Anthony, the Bellman for providing excellent service with a smile. All of the front desk staff also just terrific customer service. The valet team are fantastic too. Dinner at bellvine was unexperienced into and of itself. The entire experience is breathtaking. The view and the ambience are perfect. The weight staff are lovely and knowledgeable. And Tim, the chef is a magician. The chefs tasting menu is one of the most unique and delicious experiences I’ve ever had. But I also ate up there off the menu and I can’t tell which I liked more. It should be noted that room service is quite delicious as well , had a drink at the bar downstairs and a quick bite down there as well, and the food and service was spectacular. You can’t beat the location, and the fact that they have security roaming. The perimeter means that you’re not stepping over anyone as you exit the hotel. The entire experience is pristine and what you would expect for from a five star hotel. wouldn’t change. Thanks to Kayla and Marie and the entire team. I look forward to coming back again. Yes, it’s more expensive than the other hotels but you get what you pay for.

Wonderful property well located in downtown Portland. Two blocks from the light rail and a few more blocks to the art museum. Club lounge was great. Christopher, Mary and Mei Mei were excellent stewards. They were always ready with a drink since there’s no alcoholic beverage self service. The offerings were lighter than those offered at other Ritz properties. The evening meal presentation was more like that of a JW Marriott with hot items like mini eggrolls, potstickers, and fried spheres. Corner suite was quiet and spacious. Never saw a housekeeping trolley since they take a different approach to room cleaning. Gym and pool were top notch as was a pricey lunch at Bellpine. Downstairs bar was fun too with a ukulele player. Would stay again when visiting Portland. All Titanium elite benefits were honored.
