The hotel is nice, right next to the beach. Rooms are ok. Employees are friendly. Parking was included but it was a 10 minute walk away from the hotel, next to the Mercator store. We had bathrobes included in our package (the price is 6€ each, so better to bring you own). Also bring your own pool or beach towel, since there are none in the room, just the ones in the bathroom. We only had breakfast and it was good, except for the coffee - not strong enough for us :). You can use the pool in this hotel and the one at the near by hotel (thermal). They are connected, but you need to walk thru some other hotels lobby and halls. The only thing that bother us was the cold air at the indoor pools....so we didn't hang and relax by the pool after swimming. We walked and explored some nearby places like: train tunnel, Lucija, Bernardin, Piran....

This was our first trip to Hotel Riviera in Portoroz, Slovenia. Lovely hotel and lovely resort. So clean and nice staff. Excellent value for money .Good to be able to visit sister hotels with superb indoor pools.at the Lifeclass Spa.all within walking distance. All free for guests Great choice at breakfast and dinner. Easy walk to bars at night.. We had a sea view room which I would recommend Lovely seafront private area just over the road. Quality. .Have to pay for loungers however Piran is a must see, just a short bus ride away and we also managed a day trip to Lake Bled and a nice day out to Trieste In Italy

Exquisite hotel with marvelous Spa and huge fantastic indoor pool, serves delicious food and has spacious rooms. Experienced courteous personnel who even made the effort to prepare for my friends (who were arriving late at night and would miss dinner) some cold platter, how thoughtful! The convenience of having your car parked by the valet and retrieved from the garage is one fine service. Altogether, nothing to complain about... merely praises... KUDOS!

The hotel is nice and it has a great location in Portorož. The staff was also nice and friendly. Breakfast and pool are also ok. Worth the 4* overall. I wasn't fortunate enough to get a room with balcony and ocean view but didn't care much since I spent most of two days at the business conference. But now the --- When I got to the room there were many, many flies. And they were big! I tried to smack them all but in the morning I found out that there were a lot of them still flying around, disturbing my sleep! I didn't even opened the outside door, so they must have been there before. And someone (cleaning staff) should noticed them before me and do something about it. I hope they will clean the mess (you can see at the photo) and call the exterminator.

We stayed mid tour 15/9 to 18/9/2014. We had requested an upgrade on booking to sea view with balcony, only to find we had a junior suite with an extra lounge/TV room and 2 good sized balconies overlooking the Portoroz Bay and marina with beautiful views. Impressed with the aircon, which worked perfectly. The staff were very friendly and courteous and a short walk - took us along the seafront to the town with seafront cafes and the nearby pier was a perfect point to capture stunning sunsets that can't be seen from the hotel balcony. Night view across the bay was lovely but you are away from the town centre, not a problem for us, as we were close to the pier to catch a tour round the bay to Piran (within easy bus distance). Breakfast was good and evening meals were reasonable,

Its off season and we still payed way too much for what we got!!! They even charged us for a fricking bathrobe as well as for parking! 3 days ago I called and was asking for availability for 3adults.. What they offered me at the Riviera was a bed for 2 and a bedsofa for the 3rd person.. we thought that sounds alright since it's only 2 nights. However, this bedsofa was the smallest, most uncomfortable thing ever and if I'd have known that they charge me 115€ extra for a "bedsofa", where I ended up sleeping on the floor , I'd have booked an extra room which would have probably been cheaper and more comfortable. (Noone ever mentioned the extra costs for the bedsofa!) Unfortunately, I didn't ask for a confirmation email where I could review all the details. (Some might take it for granted to receive one, coz this is how it should be...) Turns out that the price online did absolutely not match with what we ended up paying and the "kind" lady at the front desk couldn't care less about our concern. Too bad...

We went for only two days. And didnt think much of it but ended up loving the place. Its clean, staff is very helpful and MOST important is that the bed is extremely comfortable. Breakfast is fit for kings and view from room is excelent.

Stayed here whilst in Portoroz, it's located in a great spot directly opposite the Adriatic. However, that was the best part room was okay, bathroom was okay, horrible shower. We had a buffet dinner & were not served drinks until everyone had finished eating. My room wasn't serviced & breakfast was actually okay. I liked the coffee. Would I stay here again, probably not

Great location across the road from the beach and within walking distance to many cafes, restaurants and variety of shops. The indoor pool, wellness centre and outdoor pool are an added feature if you do not wish to join the beach crowd. Rooms are spacious, clean and well maintained with a comfortable bed and nicely appointed bathroom with bidet. There was also a refrigerator and telephone. Although our room opened out to a view of the opposite buildings it was nice to be able to sit out on the balcony. The breakfast menu was extensive in a very comfortable dining room. Reception staff were efficient and friendly. It was a great hotel overlooking the gulf of Piran and a lovely introduction to what Slovenia had to offer!

The free WiFi is horrible and doesn’t even load anything, the food is low quality and there aren’t many options and most of the options are quite stale. The beds are a little comfy and the showers are nice so are the bathrooms. The air con is a nice touch as well

Dissatisfied Please note my review is copied as I had same experience. Hotel smelt musty and had a doggy smell as dogs are allowed. beds smelt unclean." Standard is for max 3 stars, and it is too expensive for what they offer. The facilities are outdated (hallways, rooms, pool area). The service at the reception was slow. Night receptionist was not willing or incapable of any service. Pool area had a weird smell and the walls are degrading. Room was smelling of cigarettes and it was dirty. Beds are not comfortable, bathroom barely had enough light to see anything." Plus hotel rooms use the old fashioned keys - not swipe cards- did not feel secure & safe

The highlight of this hotel is its swimming pools and of course the excellent location. The pools and spa are really excellent and offer a great way to relax in comfortable surroundings. The rooms are OK, Nothing special but the service is good. Breakfast is self service, again nothing special but not bad; but remember that you are in a prime location resort wise. The evening Buffet dinner was better but you are in a resort with many eating options.
