Millionaire hotel owner is personable. Sparse room is small: no desk, no chair, no AC. Asked for room facing street and got one facing noisy alley. Tiny kitchen, tiny tables, hard stools. Tiny lobby. Antique bed mattress. No reading light, few clothes hooks. Sink beats hiking 25 meters down hall to restroom. Stairs to 3rd story keep you in shape. Whooppee!

Step on the trap! The store almost refused to check in and refused to refund.
Booked for four nights. Due to the cancellation of the flight on the first day, when we checked in on the second day, the hotel door was closed and no one was there. I called the front desk and communicated with my third brother in English. I was told that the room had been rented separately. No refund would be given if there was no room. I was asked to find another room at my own expense. After communication, I was given a two-night stay. Ctrip intervened and allowed us to stay for three nights.

Location in King’s Cross is good. A budget option with private room and shared bathroom. Bathrooms generally clean. Rooms are run down. Service is quite bad- misplaced booking, no one at registration counter during office hours.

Room was tiny, ( had to go outside to change my mind) paint peeling from ceiling, shower had mold on the grout between tiles, toilet seat not fitted properly and very loose, for Au$135 not worth the money, disappointed, would not recommend.
The only good point was the location, close to rail station, supermarket and attractions.

Great location, and a plus to have a kitchen. The rooms were really cute and clean. Only issue was that we had to wait over an hour to check in as there was no one at the front desk.

I'd give it 5 stars except for the thin walls and no staff on duty to enforce a quiet time after midnite. Manager went above and beyond to give us a choice of rooms, and to provide an adapter for our American electronics. It would have been helpful to let us know if we could have a room with no one next door.
