Looking through here, it seems that Nant Hall is either fabulous, or awful. No middle ground. Unfortunately our visit was awful. We booked on recommendation from our holiday home, & were initially very impressed. It looks lovejy, set back from the road, plenty of parking, plenty of secure play areas for the children in our party of 12. Where to begin? Our table wasn't ready on arrival. I had to chase up our drinks order 3 times as only some of them arrived. We were totally ignored once food was delivered. All our meals were lovely though. I had to request the table be cleared. Then ask for dessert menus. We ordered 2 kids chocolate brownies, 3 adult brownies. All were identical, despite different descriptions on the menu,& the young lad didn't know which was which. We eventually asked for the bill, which had 6 items on it that we had not requested! This came to an over charge of almost £60. What a farce trying to amend this. In deleting some items from our bill, others were added. It took 3 attempts to correct everything. I complained to the duty manager, who blamed the young staff. He needs to "manage" those staff. He took my email, promising to be in touch once he'd spoken to someone above him. They already had my phone number from the reservation. No contact. I emailed the hotel listing all the above, & got a bog standard "we're sorry, have a free meal on us" reply. Not practical if I live in Scotland! Having listed all my grievances in the email, I felt they hadn't really noted the problems. I emailed again saying this, & got no reply at all. So I wrote direct to the manager. And got no reply! I will admit, I was getting obstinate because I'm being ignored. I don't want a free meal or 12 because we literally cannot go back. If we had had good service on the day, We would have spent more than the £240 we did. It would have been nice to receive good customer service at the time of our complaint, & really nice if the follow up service acknowledged our issues. Sorry, Nant Hall, but we told everyone at our accommodation how awful you were.

Food was lovely, service was appalling. Starters were slow, had to ask for carvery ticket after 15 minutes of waiting, plates cleared before everyone was finished, weren’t offered more drinks and ignored when trying to get staffs attention. Will not be returning. Further advice many of the staff seemed untrained and stood in customers view doing nothing whilst our table were in need of a drink and had to shout over to draw their attention.

We recently stayed in this hotel for a overnight stay. the hotel looked lovely from outside once inside the hotel it was beautiful the staff was welcoming friendly and very helpful. The room was amazing very nice and modern the bed was very comfortable and clean the room was spotless the bathroom had a power shower with his and her sinks the room had everything provided what was needed and very spacious.we had a evening meal in the restaurant the food was amazing very well presented and cooked to prefection. The breakfast was a all you can eat buffet of hot food with toast and continental with tea coffee and fruit juices. The restaurant was clean and was kept tidy.the overall services we recieved while we stayed there was perfect. Couldnt wish for a better stay and we will Definitely be returning again for another stay but longer next time thanks to all the staff for making our stay a fabulous experience.

This was a very poorly organised event. We arrived to be sent through to a function room which, at first we thought was a 'holding' room before being sat at your table. Instead we had to find a place to sit with our family of 7 - we found the last remaining seats in the middle of a long wedding table in between other families. Absolutely no throught had gone into making this a magical, enchanting experience as advertised! No atmosphere at all, no Christmas decorations, no cutlery, glasses, Christmas napkins, crackers or anything to do with Christmas at all. This was obviously purely a money making event with no thought at all. It was just the weekend's function tables and they thought 'this will do'! When we eventually realised we were going to eat our breakfast along this wedding table in the middle of other families and not be sat at our own table, we decided to join the queue for the breakfast - what a joke!! A very long queue, like a canteen, one lady serving you breakfast when you eventually got to the front with your plate. You had to then join another queue to make toast. My son doesn't like full English so I asked if he could have some cereal, was rudely told no, only full breakfast. Asked another member of staff and she brought over a bowl of coco pops. Also, no hot drinks!! You had to pay extra for a cup of tea or coffee! The food also ok and most of the staff were fine but whoever organised this event should be ashamed! If I hadn't have paid upfront, we would have walked out in the first 10 minutes.

Walked in on time to be told to sit down on communal tables. At first, we could only find seating for a family member to not sit with us ....luckily another family moved up but not ideal. Took 35 minutes to get a drink of juice and this is after me asking for glasses. We next queued up for buffet breakfast which took 25 mins ....not good with a 3 year old. They then bring a toaster out which was another queue of upto 8 people ridiculous.....no sauce, no hot drinks, no table service. We did complain to the one person serving breakfast who said.....what do you expect. I expect a hot drink and some cereal for my child, how many children like a full English only?. I requested cereal and be grudgely got some but got the comment "I shouldn't really do this" Santa was the only plus who was readily available for 2 hours for the children to go upto. One of the worst catering experiences I've ever had....

An absolute chaotic shambles!! We arrived at Nant Hall with a party of 7 looking forward to this event as it was fantastic last year. We were very quickly disappointed. We sat at the table to notice 5 dirty glasses, dirty table cloth and chairs. No Christmas music playing and no lighting on at first. My grand daughter unfortunately sat on a bottle top which was left there from the previous night. Last year it was waitress service this year someone decided it was a bright idea to make it a buffet that you had to take a ticket for therefore people were in a line for nearly an hour. The food was very poor and cold. We weren’t even given enough tickets for the 7 people we had paid for. The chef should be ashamed to serve that food. Coffees were on top this year but included last year. A toaster was brought out 30 minutes after the breakfast started to make your own toast. My grand daughter approached Santa and he was rude. As she was speaking to him he shouted over his microphone for someone to turn the music down or off. Another parent was asked why are u back again and was left feeling uncomfortable. We left after spending 1 hour and 20 minutes in this pathetic waste of money as did other families. Shame on Lyons for exploiting children to make money.

The hotel rooms are really very comfortable. Bathrooms especially are beautiful. I just need the hotel to know that that have one problem that is very easily sorted out…..The coffee is truly awful. The cappuccino’s (4 for £12 by the way) which seemed to be hot milk with a nescafe sachet stirred in. Urhhh. Then the coffee with breakfast was the colour of tea…neither option tasted of coffee .c’mon Nant you can do better!!

Would just like to say a massive thankyou to Cheremane and Tracey and the rest of the wonderful team that were part of our wedding day. Myself and Jonathan were so happy with our special day. This day was absolutely fantastic and so special to both of us. It exceeded our expectations and was out of this world. Such a lovely hard working team that were so helpful and such a pleasure. Nothing was too much trouble. Absolutely amazing day. Attention to to details were absolutely awesome and the food was fantastic. Literally no complaints. Will certainly recommend yourselves. We stayed at this lovely hotel for 2 nights and was so pleased with everything about it. The room was gorgeous and the bed was the comfiest I've slept in. Nothing was to much trouble for the lady on duty who was called cher. She was so pleasant and made us feel so welcome. Breakfast was amazing and josh who looked after us was fab. Thankyou so much to Cher and Josh for making our stay special.

Visited today for a Carvery which was lovely, shame to see there is now no table service again on a Sunday which meant we had to que at the bar.. The manager was brilliant though Cher couldn't do enough for us and all the staff we all so friendly. I tried the Nant Hot Chocolate which I think is new and OH Wow I can recommend you sample it, as it was amazing with the strawberry tequila. Can honestly say there is so much improvement in the last few months compared to previous visits and the staff deserve to be applauded for this and you can truly see how much training and hard work has been going on behind the scenes.

We’d decided to eat at Nant Hall after passing earlier in the day. At first, the staff were very attentive & we were seated and ordered very quickly. 45 minutes later and no food arrived. A member of our party enquired and we were told it would be 5 more minutes and there has been a mix up in the kitchen. 5 minutes later our food arrived. A member of our parties food was so over cooked, it looked as if it had been left on the hot plate and forgotten about. The other food was ok, fish batter was no longer crispy and had started to go soggy. But otherwise ok. We noticed other diners around us starting to complain due to wait/poor food quality. We complained to the manager and the particularly poor meal was removed from the bill. A discount card was also offered, however as we don’t live in the area, this was declined. The staff were very apologetic for the wait, however what would have been better, if they staff went round and explained there was a wait then diners could choose to wait or leave before ordering.

We booked the function room, or so we thought. The communication was non existent and we had to chase them for over a month, only for them not to honour the booking due to their incompetence. Ruined the whole celebration as we didn’t have the time to book anywhere else so close to the date. Had to tell nearly 100 people it wasn’t going ahead. I feel sorry for the staff we spoke to when we rang as they were polite and tried to help, but the management and function “organiser” were rubbish. Wrong info given, didn’t return a call once. Won’t be going there again!

Called in for lunch today and really couldn’t asked for anymore. Food was tasty and delivered promptly. Myself and my partner were seated straight away by an older lady and our order was taken within 5 mins at the table. Nothing was to much trouble and the food was lovely, my partners loaded fries were amazing and my sandwich was lovely also. Will definitely come back. Friendly polite staff, lovely food and great location.

Stopped off as we was passing and had sunday lunch, it was absolutely beautiful a proper Sunday dinner. The staff was all very attentive but not overly so, I would very highly recommend Nant Hall to anyone. Well done to the management and staff it's a lovely, cosy well run hotel. 5 out of 5 definitely.
