Eala My Lakeside Dream - Adults Friendly
4.7/573 Reviews
Eala My Lakeside Dream is a resort and spa located north of Lake Garda and five minutes drive from the town of Lamone. My wife and I chose to stay at the Eala Resort and Spa for a five-night stay to celebrate our honeymoon. Overall, our stay at Eala Lake Garda Resort and Spa was good, let down by an unfortunate incident at the end. We liked the friendly staff, the spa and facilities and the decor of rooms and hotel. But we would have liked to see complimentary filtered water per night, more variety at the breakfast buffet, reliable Wi-Fi and the ability to iron our clothes without a fee. Spa and Facilities The hotel features a spa with an indoor pool, a relaxation room, two saunas, a steam room, an ice room and a whirlpool. The spa is one of the best we have experienced, is on par with the London Corinthia Hotel, but has the added benefit of a spectacular view of Lake Garda. During our stay, we opted for the fifty-minute couples massage. Our therapists and the treatment were excellent. Rooms and ammendaties The rooms are spacious and feature a modern design. All of the rooms come standard with a balcony and view of the lake, regardless of room type. We stayed in a deluxe room, which included a queen-sized bed, a separate bath and shower, and a Juliet sink. The included shower gels and soaps are the same products provided in the spa. They are easy on sensitive skin and feature a relaxing aroma. They’re some of the best products I've experienced in a hotel. Water is complimentary on the first day but will come at a fee for subsequent days. We got charged 16 euros at checkout for filtered water, which came as a surprise. There is no iron in the room and the hotel does not provide them. However, the hotel provides an ironing service, at a fee of between three - fifteen euros. To iron your T-shirt will cost you five euros. The lighting controls were not intuitive to use. It was difficult to identify what switch controlled what light. The washrooms in the hotel operate on sensors, which shut off whilst you are using them, so make sure you wave your arms around whilst doing your business. Food and service To start, you don't sign for anything in this hotel, so the only time you see a bill, except for spa services, is at the end of your stay. Instead, staff take your room number and then you order what you want. We felt that this was good and bad. There is nothing more annoying than staff members taking payment from other guests whilst you are trying to relax by the pool. However, sometimes mistakes can happen and to avoid nasty surprises at checkout, it's good to keep tabs on what you've been charged for. The resort features three restaurants, which include a lounge bar and grill. We ate at the poolside and breakfast area. The breakfast was good and offered a good selection of cereals, pastries and cold meats. However, it lacked variety and on the third day of our five-night stay, we became bored with the choices. Pros: + A 5 min walk into the charming old town + Has a pool overlooking the lake + The cafe is quite nice (we only had drinks there but the menu looked competitive. + We had a very warm welcome from the staff who were pleased to see English tourists again + The room was large and air conditioning very good + Lovely breakfast with a nice view of the lake Cons: - A few improvements to the room would help - e.g. putting the mirror above the desk and chair and having a lighter key for when you carry it around with you (it was very ornate but heavy!) - Have a toilet in the pool area
Doubletree by Hilton Brescia

I was sorely disappointed with this property. I totally agree with a recent review: the rooms at this new property are entirely TOO HOT and UNCOMFORTABLE. Even when booking the hotel, I was met with complications, regulations and stupidity. On a prepaid reservation via Hilton Honors, one of my primary credit cards had been recently changed/deactivated and I tried valiantly to get the problem rectified, only to have the hotel email a form attached that required a written authorisation, plus identification to be scanned/faxed back to the hotel. I didn’t have access to a scanner/fax on the road. After several calls via Hilton Honors desk to the property, sanity prevailed and was able to verbally give the proper active credit card over the phone to the hotel. Upon arrival, the room was like an oven at 28c (82F). I opened the windows (they only open up about 8cm (3in) in the hope that things might cool down after I had gone out sightseeing in Brescia for a few hours. By evening, it had only “cooled” to 25c (77F) – and this was at 9:00PM. I rang the front desk to see if something could be done. I took matters into my own hands, going directly to reception, requesting a room that was not on the sunny side. I was told nothing was available on the opposite side. Mind you, this hotel with over 135 rooms was far from busy and all they would say is that regulations prohibit air-conditioning being turned on this time of year [April] however, the hallways of the hotel were cooler than the room itself (all reception would say is that the halls are ”inside”, and thus cooler). And like a clueless robot, reception repeated, “open the window, open the window” (the ones that only open a few cms/inches) The new room was a “cooler” 24c (75F). Needless to say, I didn’t have a restful night in my sauna of a room – with windows open, and the noise of outside street traffic & pedestrians. I managed to squeeze in a few hours sleep due to pure exhaustion, waking up tired & irritable. The buffet breakfast was small & cramped, the food palatable from the small choices available. Oh yeah, one minor thing I've noted: in both rooms, there were heavy metal tissue holders in the bathroom, but no tissues - either the hotel is poorly managed, or they are too cheap to provide tissues (Kleenex). This is my first (and last) trip to the Brescia Doubletree - what a bunch of dopes!

Hotel location is great with breathtaking views of the lake. Great staff and great service. Only problem is that on many occasion we were instructed that our children should speak softly and not create any loud noise which is very difficult to do with a 6 and an 8 year old who are just having fun in the water. The hotel needs to get the mix of adult only and child friendly services a bit better.

The first experience of camping went to great! Camping Nanzel is a fantastic discovery. It is not very big but is extremely quiet. The beach is wonderful. Ideal place for a relaxing holiday in family or couple! The campsite has bars and minimarkets, bathrooms and dishes, washing machine. The bathrooms are clean ... but would be needed (i.e. not because of the structure) a little more education from guests! The weighing is extremely nice and prudent. Ideal for German tourists.. the lady of the reception speaks very well. good location to get to the city walk. I strongly advise!

We stayed here because the other place we were at was completely unacceptable. When I called to check on a room, ”Enzo” took great care of us. He put us in a king suite. It was clean and every necessity was there. We were there in winter, so we didn't use either of the pools, but we did get a good meal at the attacked Indian restaurant. Thank you Enzo.
