I stayed at Avenue for one night at the end of a business trip. Como is only a 45 minute drive to Malpensa airport. I was a bit hesitant based on some reviews, but I can say that the hotel was fantastic! Room was super clean, and even had its own terrazzo to relax on. Room was on the small side, but very normal for Italy. Bathroom was clean and spacious. I don’t know where people had issues with noise, but my room was totally quiet the entire time. Only issue was that the safe wouldn’t open after I locked it. The staff came up immediately, and took some time to sort it out, but they got it done. They were incredibly nice (and apologetic, which wasn’t necessary). Ate dinner at the pizza shop around the corner that shared the patio right in front of the hotel. Food was great, and super convenient. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Excellent location, in the center (it's a plus but also a penalty for the noise down the street until late at night, especially on weekends). But we must be honest, there is a lot to work on the structure ... Room sold as superior but the superiors are far from it. No TV in the room and this is serious for me if you sell a 'superior' for almost €100 a night. Bad soundproofing, you could also hear the snoring of the rooms next door ... Very inconvenient the fact that it is on a third floor without a lift and therefore only stairs, and at the end of the day it is really hard, impossible for families with prams or the handicapped. Poorly maintained entrance door on the street, it borders the service door of a restaurant / bar that gives off strong smells at all hours. Appreciated the coffee maker in the room and the water, but this does not enhance the structure itself. The bidet leaked, an air conditioner mounted on the kitchen hood with drain pipe in the sink of the same. For a room sold as a Superior at almost €100 a night I would say absolutely not...Ok the cleaning and telephone courtesy of the staff (I say telephone since we have never met the owners for obvious personal reasons, nor is there a reception). to say that they were very courteous in leaving the room for us even after check-out time without a supplement, truly a convenience for those who visit and then return before leaving.

The studio was located in the old town, 9 mins away by feet from the Saint Mary Assunta Cathedral and 12 mins away by feet from the ferries' piers. Self check in was possible (though I was offline, so opted for standard check in). Great staff. The studio was spacious, clean, with all the amenities I needed. Bed and pillows were very compfy. Wifi was available for free. Self check out was simple.

Piazza Vittoria houses this beautiful and oldest hotel in Como which is in a strategic position. Within a few minutes, one is able to walk through the historical centre full of shops, markets and restaurants. And, more importantly, you can reach Lake Como on foot within minutes too! In addition to the small quaint bar offering local beers and wines at nighttime, my wife and I enjoyed two very relaxing breakfasts on the outdoor patio next to the swimming pool bathed in the morning sun. However, ample shelter was provided by a beautifully shaped tree adding texture to the environment!

A bit overshadowed that my room was on the first floor with a window to the courtyard, it was pretty noisy even with earplugs ... And a rather modest breakfast compared to hostels for the same price. But the friendliness of the staff and convenient location sweetened these inconveniences.

GGuest UserThere is nothing bad I can say about our stay at this hotel. The location is excellent everything you want is within a short walking distance. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, the staff on reception went above and beyond to help me out with a boat trip I had booked through someone else, which was cancelled at the last minute. They tried very hard and succeeded in arranging another trip at very short notice, which meant so much to me as it was one of the highlights of the trip. Our room was at the back but still with nice views, the room itself was lovely with a very nice bathroom and huge walk in shower. There was everything you would want at breakfast, even a glass of prosecco if you wished. I usually went for smoked salmon and scrambled eggs but there was lots more to choose from, bacon, mushrooms, hams, cheeses, fruit, pastries, cereal, yoghurts ect and to top it off the room itself was beautiful and overlooked the lake. We ate in the restaurant on the first day and had an excellent meal, again with very helpful friendly staff. At the front of the hotel there is a terrace area where you can sit and enjoy drinks and snacks, a lovely area to enjoy pre dinner cocktails. I would highly recommend this hotel and Lake Como.

Embora não fique muito próxima ao lago, tem o benefício de ficar num bairro muito tranquilo, com várias opções de estacionamento gratuito. Quarto e banheiro super espaçosos com muitos lugares para colocar malas e roupas. O café da manhã simplesmente perfeito. Tudo fresco, de alta qualidade e preparado com muito cuidado pela Tati, que é uma pessoa muito simpática e atenciosa. Tivemos dias maravilhosos com bastante conforto.

GGuest UserStayed here for 2 nights, for the price the room is great, comfortable bed, spacious and clean. Bathroom is fine, the shower is quite small so bear this in mind. Breakfast was great, lots of sweet options like pastries, tarts etc. Location was 5 minutes or less from the train station so very convenient and 5-10 mins from the ticket place to get the ferry to Bellagio. Overall the hotel was perfect for what wanted and great value for the price.

GGuest UserMy wife and I recently enjoyed a memorable six night stay at Villa Flori. There’s so much to like about this hotel but the key for me is it’s lakeside position, with the road behind it, which gives uninterupted views across the lake and over to Como town. Breakfast in the garden at the water’s edge, watching the lake come to life with boats and wildlife and stunning mountainous scenery as a backdrop was a magical experience. The breakfast selection was excellent and the staff took care of every little detail to make sure our days started perfectly. Our top floor room was well laid out and comfortable with a bath and, most importantly, a balcony that gave us incredible, wide-angle, views over the lake. We enjoyed evenings just watching life go by on the water, rowers, seaplanes, birds and ferries all doing their thing as the sun set behind us. The location is superb as a base for exploring the area. Como town is 15 min walk mostly through garden parks and waterfront paths. There’s a ferry stop at Tavernola, a few mins walk north, which gives access to all the main towns and many smaller villages. You can also book a boat taxi to collect you at the hotel wharf, or travel by car, bicycle or bus. An all-round excellent hotel in unrivalled location with dedicated and professional staff. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Como (I hope we do).

A lovely welcome from reception and we had a glass of Prosecco on arrival to take in the amazing view. It really is stunning. We had a suite with a balcony and patio area - again the view was amazing! There was a fridge and kettle in the room along with the usual compliments tea coffee etc. We had dinner which was very enjoyable as was the breakfast next morning. We had a good nights sleep, bed was very comfortable. Parking is available at the front of the hotel and we didn’t struggle to find a spot. The drive up to the hotel is quite twisty and can be slow, but again the views are amazing and well worth it when you arrive at the hotel, especially to be greeted by the lovely staff and not forgetting the amazing view. We booked direct with the hotel and would stay here again.

GGuest UserMy second stay here having stayed in 2018 but wow how Como has changed! It is indeed very touristy now. I asked for the same room as I had last time but after a second night or poor nights sleep from the loud music on the square and the rubbish bottle bins being collected during the night it became unbearable. I was moved to the loft room which was far better however, there was a strong “drain smell” in the rooms, I wished I had brought my pillow spray! The receptionist desk was often unmanned and at times I felt I was treated more like a nuisance than a guest. Given the reception is not manned during the night you just have a spy hole on the doors of the bedrooms for the comfort of travellers, especially solo ones. The staff were usually quite kind and it was great to see a few familiar faces from my last visit. This hotel was amazing last time however standards seemed to have dropped. The luggage storage area didn’t seem particularly safe just a cupboard off the kitchen where I could go and collect my bag without anyone challenging me on where I was going and what I was doing. The area outside was costly for breakfast which I enjoyed and to have drinks in the evening.

GGuest UserI love this place for its location near a huge forest great for running and cycling - even on a freezing winter morning! It was a good price, well organised, friendly staff and very clean. It is away from most things near an industrial estate but I chose it for the proximity to the forest and all the trails there :) It was also a simple walk to a small town with pizza and some basics. I didn't have the breakfast as it seemed quite expensive and was too busy running ;)

JJack GillettOn the plus side, Hotel Bazzoni has a wonderful location, a very good view from the room balconies over Lake Como, and a terraced garden going up the hill with several swimming pools and bars. Included breakfast and a buffet supper which was good. The bar on the ground floor is also stunning. On the minus side, ***y things about the hotel are wanting. When we arrived, we were told it was fully booked and our reservation had been transferred to the sister (and much cheaper) hotel Britannia down the road. We were taken down to see it, but the room was dank and nasty, after a hard argument they agreed to reinstate us in Bazzoni. We were also chased on the final day to check out promptly - our Trip.com booking was for 11am check out but we got a call at 10.30 telling us this had been moved forward to 10am and we needed to check out promptly as they had ***y arrivals that day. The room also lacked water, coffee/tea-making facilities and slippers, and everything extra is chargable - including 5 EUR for an additional keycard (non-refundable...) and 2 EUR for a jug of water at supper. On balance, I would avoid this hotel in future - but if you chose it, come ready to argue for what you already paid for.
