Checked in and made to feel very welcome. Beautiful location, room comfortable, warm and clean. Staff attentive and pleasant. Breakfast freshly cooked to order, perfect poached egg! Lots of choice of cereal, fruit juice and toasts. Would love to stay again.

We love this hotel and went with friends this time . Couple of issues with the room being really hot. We couldn’t turn off any radiators as we tried and still boiling. We slept (in January) while the windows wide open all night. We could have asked for assistance but the windows open were fine. Then overcharged by £50 the next day but that was put right when challenged. We also found the drinks really expensive. Still a lovely hotel and lovely people so I suppose we will still go back

We went for afternoon tea which was a gift from our daughter and she had spoke to someone at the hotel and we believed we had been booked in. When we arrived they hadn't got us on the list. But we went to a table while they sorted this out. We had problems with the voucher code but one of the ladies did help us with this issue. Once everything was sorted the actual afternoon tea was very nice. Tea and coffee was plentiful which was appreciated. Venue was in nice surroundings and with nice views.

Really lovely hotel, nice decor for the period of the hotel. Every member a staff i had interaction with were lovely, polite and very helpful. Room was spacious (22) lovely views although the humming of the extractor fans from the kitchen was repetitive but nothing major unless you're a light sleeper. The bathroom was like a sauna, i walked in and the heat hit me but rather the heat than cold. Evening meal was lovely, full board is £25 food allowance and anything over this price is chargeable. Calamari starter, i was very unsure of the coleslaw addition so didn't eat this as didn't look appealing at all. The Pork main was delicious and the yorkshire/dumplings were very nice. Good nights sleep ( windows open ) comfy beds and pillows. Breakfast was really good too. Walked around the grounds before check out and although wet and grey it was still a lovely walk with fresh air. Overall the value for the hotel is amazing for the what they offer. Rooms were clean - maybe a little dusty on ledges and radiators but nothing was dirty. n

We were looking forward to our night at Inglewood Manor. The website promised so much. But it fell short on several counts. Unfortunately, we were allocated Room 18. A warning to future guests, make sure they don't put you in Room 18. You will regret it. The room has a lovely view over the gardens and to the lake beyond - as promised on the website. However, right outside the window is a massive ventilation extractor fan system that grumbles away with a deep pulsating noise (see photos). The windows are the lovely original leaded windows which are charming, but they are not great at sound proofing, and they were no match for the industrial fan outside. I went down to reception to have a word, hoping they would offer to move us to a different room (seeing as the hotel was not full and we had pre-booked our stay directly with the hotel). But the receptionist said they turn the fans off at 8.30pm when the kitchen closes so we shouldn't be troubled. The problem was that we checked in at 4pm and hoped to chill in our rooms for a couple of hours after a long drive before going down to dinner. So we had to put up with the noise and keep the windows closed. The curtains were tatty and in need of replacement so no match for the noise either. The shower in room 18 is one of those with a chrome hose attached to the bath taps, so it's weak and fiddly with a drizzle rather than a flow. But it's probably good there is a drizzle because the seal below the show screen is coming away. Climbing in and out of the bath to take a shower is probably not a great idea if you have the slightest mobility issues. You have to grab hold of the side of the bath and the screen in order to manoeuvre in. Getting out is a challenge, too. We decided to go down to dinner early so that we could get away from the depressing extractor fan and have a pre-meal drink in the bar. I had expected a cosy bar, perhaps with a fire, where we could sit and have a look at the menu. But I was fooling myself. We were directed down a corridor to a room which looked like a function room - perhaps better suited for a wedding party. The website describes the restaurant as a "stunning dining space" and continues... "The dining room at Inglewood Manor blends classic period features with sophisticated, contemporary style". Perhaps that particular dining room was closed because where we ended up was not "stunning" in any way, and we struggled to see anything that even touched on "classic period features". The bar was part of this large characterless function room which seemed to doubled up as the restaurant. The only sitting area near the bar was a circular chest-high table with three hard stools; not the best setup for a comfortable drink. I like beer so chose the keg IPA, but it was not available and there was no bottled beer, so we went for wine. My first experience of a bar with no beer. Dinner was fine and we were served by the lovely Carol. What an asset Carol is. She was so welcoming, fr
