This Microtel was definitely shopworn from the broken outside bench to the torn shower curtain and the broken toilet seat. Stayed there 4 nights…the first night was greeted warmly so thank you for that. Since we didn’t leave the room early enough the first morning, we asked the cleaners to return later —they didn’t so we had to go downstairs to get fresh towels for the next morning. Our room was cleaned the 2nd day very nicely except no extra coffee packets which isn’t good anyway so no worries there. The 3rd morning my sister was coming back upstairs so she was going to grab me a cup of coffee and asked if it was ok because they were cleaning the breakfast room…the worker pointed at her watch and shook her head…it was 9:02! (Oh and beware the coffee brewed the coffee but you had to heat it for 2 minutes in the microwave because it was cold). We left after that and I told the cleaners that we would be out in 30 minutes … never came back to clean! So we were there 4 nights and had our room cleaned 1 time! Was hopeful it would be a good place to stay since it is within a few blocks of my son’s home but was VERY disappointed in the hotel and will not return unless they have some major renovations/updates, modern conveniences (like a full time coffee station and automatic doors to assist guests coming and going), and classes on what customer service means to their establishment.
