Been here many time. Best value for money in Puerto de la Cruz. Staff are exceptional.

A hotel with excellent value for money. Its glory days are long behind it, but it is sufficient for those who want something more than just a hotel stay. Good breakfasts and great dinners. Rooftop swimming pool (8th floor). Great location, close to the center, beach, shops and pubs.

The hotel is well located and the staff is very nice, good service at the bar-restaurant. Good cleanliness, the rooms are cleaned daily, the view of the sea and Puerto is quite nice. But some negative points, 1 elevator that worked out of the 3, I was on the 6th floor. The doors slam in the morning from 7:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. and there is no way to sleep, you have to forget about lying in, the swimming pool is small but has the merit of existing.

Pretty good actually, although at Chek-in time it took a long time, there was a long line and there was only one employee!!

I am just home from 10 days in Hotel Magec and I would love to share our experience. Firstly the staff at reception are very friendly we checked in late at 11pm and they were so welcoming. The hotel itself is spotless and the rooms are cleaned every singe day which I thought was very nice. The roof top swimming pool is abit small but was never very busy which in turn didn't effect the size of the pool. It definitely wouldn't be suited to those who have young children as there is no shallow end. The bar at the pool was very poor only one cocktail on the menu which was a Mojito so I didn't bother with this as I don't like that drink. I ordered chips another day but the fryer was broken so I couldn't get them. The bar downstairs is nice and has some seating outdoors which is good for the hotter days. The bar closed at 11 which I felt is very early for a hotel but didn't effect us too much. There was entertainment one night which was a man singing with a guitar it was OK. The main issue I had with this hotel was the Air Conditioning. It was shocking the rooms were so so hot and the air con was so weak that it didn't really make any difference to the room. One night before heading out I was locked into the hotel room as there was an issue with the handle and I couldn't open it from inside. Luckily my father was outside and I slid the key card under for him to let me out. Once I went to reception for this they had someone come immediately to fix it which was a relief. The food is a definite no for me. We had breakfast included and had this one morning the food was stone cold nothing to keep it warm and my partner went to have scrambled egg and there was a dead cockroach in it. I notified staff and they said oh no I better go tell the chef but that was it. Needless to say we didn't touch another thing. The location of this hotel is very central to all shops, restaurants and bars so that was a huge positive to us. Just across the road there are afew shops to pick up some drinks and snacks that really came in handy for us. Overall we had a nice stay but I won't be returning to this hotel again.

Great hotel ,walking distance to shops, restaurants and harbour . Lori parque only 20 minutes walk away.Staff helpful and polite . Food varied and good. Will definitely come stay again . Don’t listen to negative reviews it’s a real gem of a place .

The hotel was Mid if I’m being honest, rooms didn’t look like photos, very outdated, no entertainment or anything. Just a basic hotel. Food was mixed Spanish and English. Paid for all inclusive but only ate 2/3 times in restaurants as food was not to my taste. Hotel location was okay though as it was a 10 min walk to all the shops and restaurants.

This Hotel is awful. I got to my room and noticed that the locking mechanism on the patio doors was or has been tampered with. I closed the patio doors clicked the switch into its locking position and I could slide the door open quite easily. On closer inspection-see pics, the lock was completely broken and not maintained enabling zero security to my room. Add to that' the room is on the ground floor so it's easily accessible to break in. I complained to the front desk whom said they would notify the maintenance team. After going out for two hours I arrived back in my room and saw that the lock was the same. Back at the front desk they said that it's been looked at and subsequently fixed.. It hadn't. Roll in a disgruntled maintenance man who clicked the lock switch looked and said its fixed. So I demonstrated to the fella and opened up the patio door easily whilst in the locked position. Away he went and 10 minutes later came back with a drill and comedically made some noise with the drill over by the lock and said its fixed. He never did anything to the lock and was clearly not interested in fixing it. Back at reception I aired my concerns and the fella said all of our patio doors in the hotel are expecially can be opened whilst locked. Basically he couldn't be bothered fixing the issue. Incompetent, and willing to put a customer's security potentially at risk. Not good enough in my book customers security is not in their vocabulary. There are alot better hotels to choose from in the area.

English people do not stay here! They only cater for Spanish, Germans and French. Food - awful Cleanliness/room - fine Location - near to the bus station, restaurants and pubs. But very hilly. All inclusive - I wouldn't bother. The food is terrible, cold, stale bread. Meat is not cooked. Staff ignore you if you have the all-inclusive band on. The bar lady with brown hair is very rude, we knocked a glass over and she knew it had smashed onto the floor, we asked for a brush 3 times and was still ignored by her!!!! To those who say the food is lovely and come every year, does the hotel pay you stay there and eat?????

Been back two days after a ten day all-inclusive break at the 'HC Hotel Magec, Tenerife, Spain. So what was wrong? Part One Drinks Do not go all-inclusive! It is like a stigma. The staff see you coming and they just ignore you, they pretend to clean up or count stock, just to avoid serving you. When you do get served there is no menu for the all-inclusive. Your card key says that the all-inclusive ends at 1200hours If you want a beer they give you a small glass (330ml) or a 400 ml glass for juice/pop. You are only allowed one glass at a time. The beer is okay, but the bar staff will not give you a pint glass. You can have one but you have to order and pay for a pint. Make sure you keep hold of your glass though because as soon as it is empty the bar staff will be after it. The pop is a local brand (Giant) - Tastes like water. No more can be said. There is a coffee machine provided for all inclusive allowing one to have however much tea, coffee, or chocolate desired. unfortunately this actually tastes like 'cat pee'. If you want a proper drink you have to ask for one. You then receive a drink from the machine behind the bar, but you have to pay for it.

I cannot believe how this place is still going. A number of people got ill from the food, whilst I was there! The drinks were a joke, as only some were included but not marked out which ones and the workers clearly got so frustrated at the conversation. I was treated like a 2nd class citizen every time they saw the all inclusive wristband. I am swearing off all inclusive from now on and I certainly will be telling everyone to stay away from this hotel. I get that they are trying to cater for people on a budget but you can do better than this

The hotel is clean and the all inclusive is definitely ok for drinks and they have a good selection although not on premium drinks which is totally understandable. The staff on the whole was friendly although I did have an altercation with the roof top barman who was very rude. One thing I will say is the food is absolutely disgusting, cold and just terrible. I understand they have to cater for different taste buds etc but tbh when I put there food in my mouth I actually wished I didn’t have taste buds. But on the whole it’s ok.

Before we stayed at this hotel (me and my partner), I panicked about the number of negative reviews across all sights, and I went into our stay with my expectations drastically low, I was so wrong. The hotel was clean, staff were helpful and friendly, breakfast may have been clearly mass produced by other food (lunch especially) was very tasty and I enjoyed everything I ate. All inclusive is definitely worth it, with cocktails of the day included, and then being changed daily, so you get a vast variety, as well as strong spirit based drinks. It’s a budget friendly hotel, as advertised, so it should be no surprise that that’s what is provided. But overall, I had a lovely stay, at a lovely clean hotel with friendly staff, decent food, good drinks and a nice pool. Bonus that it’s close to many restaurants of high and cheap quality, and near a marina and lovely beaches. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a budget friendly stay.
