Stayed at Bitacora in August 2024 with my wife and daughter. First of all I must say the Bitacora is NOT on cardiac hill ! Yes it's located up the hill but incline isn't that bad when you get used to it and we found 3 or 4 different ways back to hotel. We had emailed ahead requesting an upper floor room as with us being 2 able bodied adults and a 15yr old we have no bother up and down stairs, but on arrival we were informed this wasn't possible , ok no problem. The room we were given was downstairs, clean and large enough for us but no privacy as veranda wide open to guests, no sun on veranda and a view of the pool , in fact rooms 104 to 120 have no sun at all and over the course of our stay we noticed ALL the 1st floor rooms were occupied by either young families who had to try and carry pushchairs, inflatables etc or elderly who struggled with the stairs. Now onto the sunbed wars , yes wars ! You have to queue from 8.30am for the pool to open anytime from 9am to 9.45am depending on the mood of the pool cleaner. My wife queued one morning and had to run and use the towels as Frisbees to get 3 sunbeds ! She said she never felt so embarrassed in her life , needless to say we only used pool twice in 10 days and went to beach instead. As usual sunbeds had towels on them all day and weren't used definitely needs policing. We brought this up with the gentleman on reception who informed us "it happens everywhere " no sir it doesn't. Been to PDC twice before and many other resorts on Europe over 20 years and never been as bad as here . May return to Bitacora at a quieter time of tear but definitely not in July/August there simply isn't enough sunbeds , we counted around 90 beds to over 100 rooms .

We loved this complex so much! We had an amazing room overlooking the pool which was fab in the evenings. The pool and the area surrounding it was always so clean! There were no sunbed wars while we were there for the week. We never ate in the hotel but we would get drinks and ice cream and have them at the pool. There is a supermarket on site but it is very expensive, if you just walk down the hill you will find better value shops. The rooms have air conditioning also. They rooms were super clean and we didn’t come across any cockroaches during our time there! It’s located at the top of a hill but it’s literally a 5 minute walk to the main area of bars and restaurants so the hill really makes no odds, amazing location. 10/10 would definitely come back!

Such a shame that this hotel is absolutely crammed with screaming kids running riot at night time. Parents did not control their children. So noisy and couldn't sleep. They were in the pool at 1am, screaming , running and shouting. Very dangerous but no security or reception at night. All shut down and we felt quite vulnerable. Could not relax on the balcony so certainly not relaxing holiday. The hotel definitely needs someone on site at night. Kids were swearing in the day at the pool. It was a free for all. Disgraceful. Loud music from guests at the pool competing with who has the biggest speaker! No sunbeds by 9.10am. You couldn't make it up how people pushed past you to get the sunbeds...ruthless then half left with towels on and not used. Staff did nothing. The hill to the town is horrendous if you have walking difficulties or young children. Taxi is about 4 euros each trip up and down Bedding only changed once every 7 days. Not good and never come across that before. Rooms are lovely but opt for a superior. Cleaning not good. Ended up doing it ourselves. Air conditioning was great. WiFi expensive. Would not recommend if you want a relaxing holiday. Like living on a Council estate for 2 weeks so depends on what you're used to. Really ruined our holiday.

We loved our time at the bitacora! I wasnt sure what to expect having read some of the reviews but our experience was excellent from start to finish. We had apartments 201 & 201a (a little studio) right beside each other on the first floor - we had three balconies - two with tables and chairs and a beautiful sundeck with loungers and an outdoor sofa and armchairs. The apartments were spotlessly clean with everything you could possibly need. The pool bar was beautiful - food and drinks fab and staff were very friendly. The two gentlemen we encountered on reception were so helpful and polite as well. Yes there was a rush with beach towels in the morning - but to be honest we always managed to get one @9.30 and if we were out in the morning we managed to get one on our return. I would definitely highly recommend a stay here and will definitely return.

A nice little hotel, with clean rooms and a nice pool area, which is cleaned each morning. Short walk down the hill to the promenade, and Lidl is just around the corner for all your supplies. Hotel has a nice bar, which is reasonably priced. I’d recommend the hotel for someone looking for something “ok”, and meets the basic requirements.

Had a lovely 7 night stay at Bitacora. The apartments were lovely, spacious rooms and a generous terrace outside. The air conditioning was great due to the heat in August and we all slept well in the comfortable beds. The complex itself is well maintained and the reception staff were welcoming and helpful. My only criticism was the pool and terrace area, it is much too small for the size of the complex. I appreciate we went in the middle of the school holidays in peak season but we only used the pool once due to how busy it was and the murky pool water. The pool was cleaned every morning so I am not sure why the water was so cloudy, Our apartment was situated right next to the pool. From 8am people were queuing with arms full of towels for when the pool opened at 9am! By 09.10am there was not a single free sunbed. Most of the beds lay empty for the majority of the day after being reserved with towels. We opted for the beach instead to avoid the hassle, noise and naughty children (not the fault of the complex) .

Brilliant hotel- so accommodating. The man who checked us in… Javier?! Was brilliant- thank you so much for a warm welcome! Perfect start to our holiday. If you’re looking for an easy going relaxed vibe, this is your hotel! Close enough to the main centre and bars but far enough away you’re not always in it. Gym is an added bonus!

What a great place for a family holiday. We had two apartments between 6 of us. I think the rooms were recently done up as the beds, pillows and sofa bed were very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the shower was great. The complex itself was very clean and you can see how hard the cleaning team were working. Great bar with lovely breakfast and dinner. Super cocktails too. The pool was cold but this was a welcome break from the sun. There was a que from 8am to grab beds and some towels were left all day with no one there till much later which didn’t seem fair. The only downside was not enough umbrellas for shade! Staff were all very nice and helpful and the on site supermarket had most things. Lidl just a 10 minute walk. Beach 15 mins downhill and 25 back up but nowhere near as bad as I thought it was going to be. Really great find and will hopefully return.

For the price this place is suburb. Friendly helpful staff. Good value, tasty food available on site. Very convienient supermarket also. Can be a rush for sunbeds in the morning but the same for most places in August. The pool area is cleaned thoroughly each day. Apartments well equipped and comfortable beds. Would definitely visit again.
