I recently attended the October Fest at Canvas Hotel with my friends, and it was a fantastic experience. The hotel had a wide variety of cocktails and delicious food options, including some mouthwatering pizzas. It's an awesome place for bonding and having a great time. One highlight was the ”Chill Night” they host every Friday, which added to the fun and made the evening even more enjoyable. The hotel itself was in great condition, clean, and well-maintained, which definitely enhanced our experience. I must give a special shoutout to the waiters at Canvas. They were all incredibly accommodating and made our visit even more enjoyable. Also, a big thanks to Ms. HR for arranging this wonderful bonding. She's always so accommodating, and it's greatly appreciated. Overall, our time at Canvas Hotel was a blast. We had a lot of fun and genuinely enjoyed ourselves. I'm now looking forward to planning a staycation with my family there and will definitely recommend it to my relatives and friends. It's a place where good times are guaranteed!

This place is obviously still struggling from the effects of the Covid lockdowns. The staff is the best part of this place. The air conditioner is undersized & has a daylight gap all around it. The room refrigerator is worthless because its electric circuit shuts down when you leave the room. Who wants to come back from a trip & grab a warm drink from the ref? Breakfast buffet is pretty slim. They post signage asking you to conserve water, but they don't even include water saving faucets or shower heads. And then there were the bugs. If I had known that they are offering 'Hourly Rates' I would have avoided this place.

Trip started with Kuya Darwin, one of their very friendly and competent drivers. Super near and accessible to nearby tours that you can book at the front desk. Our room was quite modern with a spacious and comfortable bed, with just the right amount of pillows! Food and drinks were a highlight being very affordable with great serving sizes! Overall great stay with all the amenities you need.

Great resort hotel, very chill and relaxing atmosphere. However, this resort has mini potentials if staff pay more attention to their guests butvsone regularlyon their phones, swimming pool is cleaned regularly, and tottub actually warm or hot. Also, we ordered watermelon smootie and smelled like onion. Same happened when tasted morning fresh fruit. I politely told them about that to pay attention as it's an awesome place but can be much better. Lastly, breakfast included is only limited to one item of breakfast menu which is not clearly specified upon booking..clarity is important..thank you! Abraham.. Canada with love fir better service.

I've stayed in this hotel before, and I keep returning since it's affordable, safe, and has decent rooms and a spacious parking lot—features that other hotels in Palawan lack.I've recently noticed that they no longer offer airport service, although they have contacts for taxi drivers in case you need one. However, it would be great if they could add the airport pickup and drop-off once more for a hassle-free trip, especially for those visiting Palawan for the first time .Being somewhat honest, some taxis, vans, and tricycles take advantage of tourists by charging them more than the normal.

The place was a little ways out so you gotta have everything you need handy. They can get a tricycle for you but those charge exorbitant prices. We arrived about 30 mins. earlier so it was understandable that the room was still being prepared. But that I had to ask the staff if the room was ready a little past 2PM before they directed us to our room was Strike 1 for me. The family room was large so we enjoyed having our ”own space” within the room. It was also very near the pool (the window by my bed opens to it) so watching the kids was easy. The pool, however, was a real downer when you book the place online and you came for the pool (like what my daughter did). It looked really nice in the picture and the actual pool was, well, a pool; and the chlorine in the water was overwhelming. That was Strike 2. I didn't even bother to go in. Come dinnertime, we ordered our meal. It tasted good BUT they only had one platter of rice ready at such a time! We had to stop and wait for the second platter of rice. Can you imagine having to stop in the middle of your meal because you have to wait for the additional rice, that is a Filipino meal staple by the way. I can let that slide because you can choose to chat with the family and pick on the grilled stuffed squid while waiting. My breakfast platter, however, was a very oily number. I had bacon, eggs and toasted bread (with butter and jam). But we'll let that slide too. Upon checkout, I requested for receipts for our in-house meals. It was my way of verifying the cost of dinner because the amount relayed to me did not add right as opposed to what I computed from the menu when I placed the order and had it charged to the room. I was thinking maybe the additional fees and service charge added up and all that. The lady at the counter took forever (an exaggeration, of course) and was doing a side thing addressing someone who seems to be an employee but not in uniform at the time. A PWD walking with a cane as I am, I reached a point where I could no longer tolerate standing on pretty much one leg so I told her that I will leave my daughter to wait for the receipts while I take a seat at the tricycle they called for us since their van was not around. She was told that we should have given advance notice if we wanted receipts. I'm a bit taken aback because that has always been ready for me in the places I've been too. Don't they automatically prepare receipts for issuance after an order has been served and set for room charge? Those were dinner and breakfast and we checked out at 12nn. They had ample time to prepare it unless they had no intention to issue the receipts. That was definitely Strike 3 for me...and so this review. This may seem like a rant but I really just want the matter addressed. The place has potential but the customer service needs to improve. Whatever fell short of expectations in the amenities department could have easily been made up for by excellent cus

The hotel is very nice, in a quiet area and surrounded by nature. Very peaceful. You can rent a motorbike if you want to go to the beach or to Puerto Princesa. The hotel offers free van rides to a shopping mall and to the airport.
There is a 60 mins complementary massage which was very nice. Then they offered us 50% off for the second massage of 90mins (600 pesos).
Buffet breakfast is good too, fruit and a good variety of filipino food. The restaurant menu is just ok and the service is a bit slow.
Overall it was a good experience.

GGuest UserThis hotel is the most perfect hotel I have ever stayed in.
About the price: The hotel is currently a four-star hotel, but it is implemented according to the seven-star service. Considering that another building of the hotel is still under construction, the hotel gives a four-star experience price. It is worth staying here.
About the service: Free airport pick-up is of course a must, the hotel can delay check-out until four o'clock, the hotel gives snacks from time to time, and the hotel provides free water entertainment bicycles, boats, mountain bikes, etc.
About eating: The real chef is not a local, and the food is better and more exquisite than what I ate in a five-star hotel. And the price is not expensive.
About the hotel: The most perfect artificial physical architectural aesthetic design in history, all brand furniture is provided, and the design is completely humanized. The experience is very good.
About the staff, all are young handsome men and beautiful women, greet with a smile when they meet, and pay attention to whether you need service or help. Meticulous.
In short, this hotel is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. If there is a chance, I will come again next time.
GGuest UserFirst of all, let me start by saying how much we LOVED our stay. The location is absolutely stunning, and we had an amazing stay. First and foremost, I want to thank to all the staffs esp to Aj ( who made our stay extra special. The food for me was exceptional, they had a wide variety of cuisines, and I was there for 2 nights and didn't have a bad meal while I was there. I felt the food price was very reasonable given the location, service and quality Astoria set the bar incredibly high and for someone who considers themselves to have a vacation I would highly recommend this place.
AAdamBilgyBetween the main bus station and the airport in a quiet area, and only a 100 peso ride from the airport. A 20 minute walk from a large shopping mall. The whole place is very clean and nice, with comfortable sun beds by a large clean swimming pool. Room is comfortable and clean, with good aircon and linens. Shower pretty powerful. Excellent WiFi. Outside areas with small Gym, bar and food area. This place doesn't accept credit cards, wants a 2000 peso cash deposit and you can't check into your room a minute before the 2pm deadline. Also no check out flexibility, or use of the pool after check out which they will charge for. Room fridge full of expensive drinks, but there is a shop a 2 minute walk away where you can buy soft drinks and use the room fridge to keep them cool. Breakfast is adequate and basic, but good value in terms of the overall price. Overall very good value and i would highly recommend.
GGuest UserWe did not want to leave this place! From our travels across the Philippines, this was by far, one of the loveliest hotels we’ve stayed in. It’s small but perfect. It’s clean, the room décor is lovely and super cosy! The bathroom was lovely, we did have a broken shower, but it was fixed within minutes of us reporting it. The food in the restaurant was tasty, alongside this, so we’re the cocktails. We were lucky that the hotel was fairly quiet when we stayed, and we spent most evenings having the pool to ourselves. The best asset of this hotel was the staff! Jayanne was our knight in shining armour, she was unbelievably helpful in answering all our questions and sorting our laundry out for us. Another outstanding member of the reception team was Kath, who was equally as helpful. Jan was our main server in the restaurant and it’s obvious he put a lot of care and attention into his work, both he and Jay were extremely lovely and attentive. This hotel also has a fantastic location, it’s only a 15-minute walk from a main shopping centre but our favourite day was walking towards a little local beach through the village, it was bliss and worth a walk if you stay here. As the hotel is set back from the main road, there’s no heavy traffic passing by. The only absolute downside I could advise on staying here is that next door, the neighbour was farming cockerels (for the fighting season), I don’t know if this was a temporary sport, or he has them all year round, but they were SO loud! And when they made any noise, so did all the local dogs. It genuinely didn’t ruin our stay, but it did become our alarm early each morning. Other than that, this hotel was practically perfect, we would love to come back!
RResort12347556191This is supposedly the only 5 star resort in the area which is sad as I think competition might actually inspire them to do better. The place itself is very nice and initial impressions are quite excellent. But the longer we stayed the more we noticed the lack of upkeep in the rooms. The size of the bathroom is big but there is not a single electrical outlet inside so you cannot plug in anything not even the hairdryer. The shower glass door does not close shut and with the very strong water pressure you can be assured of a very wet overflowing floor outside of the shower enclosure. We paid for 2 extra persons in the room which they informed us meant sharing the beds and breakfast inclusive but they don’t automatically provide the extra towels. Even after calling them to request for more towels they still took more than 2 days to give us our extra towels. The water in the pool is quite warm and not refreshing as the heat of the sun kept it quite warm but some of our friends actually liked it that way so it’s more of a personal preference. The drying rack in the balcony is a nice touch as we can dry our swim clothes there. There are also water dispensers in the hallway which is great for refilling the complimentary glass bottles of water provided. Buffet breakfast is included in the room rates but don’t expect anything extraordinary. The Italian restaurant in the resort does not seem to be ready for the tourist influx as food came out ever so slowly and we felt bad for the foreign tourists who don’t complain as much as the locals so we did get our food faster than they did. The resort is expanding so there is construction ongoing which is a positive sign of tourist revival in PP which I’m happy about for them but I wish they would also pay closer attention to the upkeep of the existing rooms.
XxtrasmallMy bed was sooo big it would fit 4 people😅
Room was clean and all amenities work. Had a swim on my last night and I had the pool all to myself😍
Staff were courteous and helped me with my way around the city. Staff at the dining area where I had breakfast were also nice and helpful.
Location wise, its in front of a mall(where I bought some personal things and had dinner), near a spa(where I had a sauna and massage), and 5-10mins walk from our seminar venue. It was also near the airport, 5-10mins multicab ride. So it was a very convenient place.
All in all, I had a pleasant stay. Thank you.
KKenDucsWe recently had the pleasure of staying here, and I must say it was one of the cleanest hotels I've experienced in Palawan. The location is incredibly convenient, making it easy to access local attractions. However, there was some noise from a nearby bar late at night. It wasn't too distracting for me, especially on the higher floors, so I recommend requesting one of those if you’re sensitive to sound.
The hotel itself is well-maintained, likely due to its recent renovations. The elevator, though small, was smooth and always clean, which added to the overall pleasant experience. The bathroom was a highlight—very clean and comfortable, although I did find the water heater a bit challenging to adjust.
Each room features a smart lock and a smart TV with Netflix and other apps, which is a nice touch. The Wi-Fi was reliable, even on the highest floor, allowing for seamless browsing.
One area for improvement would be the bedding. While the mattress and pillows were decent, a thicker comforter would enhance the sleeping experience, as the provided blanket was quite thin.
The staff were friendly and accommodating, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. While this may not be a luxury hotel, it offers excellent cleanliness and customer service, making it a great choice for travelers. I would certainly consider staying here again!
EEm KeiThe hotel is not new but the location is everything if you want privacy and a beautiful sunrise. The staff are very helpful and they can arrange for a tricycle or car to take you to different places. There are many tours also available with help from hotel staff. The beach is really not for swimming but for admiring and tanning. The swimming pool is a great way to keep cool. We liked our stay and would most likely stay here again.
SSheganda’s Travelogue! We stayed in the Hotel from 20th to 24th of June 2022! I originally booked a room that could cater 3 pax (2adults & 1 kid (10). When we get there they could’nt find my booking & contacted trip.com! Finally they’re able ro retrieve it but room was too small and said could only accommodate 2pax, otherwise they can put an extra matress! Even a mattress is placed, the room would be too crowded. So I checked my best option and that is to change into another room. We jz have to wait. I contacted trip.com about this and they were very sorry about the confusion of room accommodation and offered a compensation for the extra mattress fee!😅
Regarding the hotel, food was good although to refill water is CHARGED!! 500 ml bottled water is 10pesos, I don’t get it, it should be for free!😅 Breakfast meal’s price i think could be lower and everyday room service should be a must!
CCabayaoMaganda, malinis, malakas ang aircon, simple pero spacious, mabait ang staff, worth for it's value, tahimik, malapit sa mga tindahan at tricycle, malayo sa pollution at mga crowded na lugar.
