The Westin Puntacana Resort & Club

This was by far the most wonderful vacation we’ve ever had! The food was excellent and the staff treated us like family…that they love lol. There are too many to list, but we must mention Faniel Medina and Nicol Rijo. They were so kind and helpful to us. We are so grateful and we will be back!

The place is good, there is not many eatery options, is not all included, better said nothing is included and is a bit pricey. The beach restaurant had very little to choose and quality is not there. The other’s restaurant are to expensive considering that they are not a top place even in the area were most of the resort have everything included. They are located inside of resort complex but they are not member of anything there is not tours included, the bicycles are falling apart like safety it’s not a requirement. The staff is very friendly. But if you are looking for a quiet place to stay and willing to pay a lot for amenities that are included in all others resort maybe this is your place.

This hotel is situated on the most beautiful beach in Dominican Republic. Hotel is nice but it’s overpriced. It’s off the beaten track and if you want to dine outside of this hotel you need to take a cab. Prices of the drinks and the food in this hotel are high. For the money you spend in this hotel you can spend a vacation in Hawaii. They charge mandatory 40 usd per room per night. The airport shuttle is included in that price but nobody informed us about it. I would definitely not come back to this hotel but to the beach definitely as it’s public and open to all visitors. This hotel can do much better. They can provide complimentary shuttle that runs every 15 minutes to the shopping mall, village with restaurants and supermarkets. It would be much convenient for the guests so people who don’t rent a car can have a choice. The restaurant on the beach is nice but with limited food to offer. Charge people 40 usd per night no problem but then make people willing to pay that money. Make them use complimentary shuttle so they can go out of the resort whenever they want to. Everything is so close to the hotel but every time you need to exit hotel you need 50 usd for the taxi. Insane! I don’t understand how General Manager of this hotel doesn’t think about their guests.

We were slammed into this hotel by the atrocious latam airlines, after they delayed the flight by 3.5hrs and then canceled it all together. I KNOW the hotel staff had zero notice. It was not their fault but it was a dumpster fire. They were able to get 2 adjacent rooms for our family so I am grateful for that much. The hotel, fees and "food" were covered by the airline. The hotel was very clean , and some staff members were accommodating. The beach is amazing and the sand is like sugar. The pool was also lovely. The grounds were immaculate. There was this lovely scent that's constantly in the common areas that is so pleasant, but I couldn't put my finger on exactly what it was. Some staff were absolutely not friendly. The staff at the beach club near the shore treated us as if we were pests. I asked for a menu and they said that there is a free buffet for the passangers. There was definitely a tone that came with that statement. There seemed to be some annoyance in general about the airline passengers being guests. Idk, the hotel overall gives off business vibes. It just doesn't feel family friendly.

We traveled far away to get to punta Cana and we thought we booked one of the best hotels in the area, but for our surprise we the entire hotel is under constructions, all the main outdoor area including the main pool. Noise all the time, dust and looks like in constructions site. No one gave us any notice for it. We asked to move but all the hotels are not available or with ridiculous price, so we had no choice but to stay in the hotel. The hotel did provide a small pool 5 minutes drive away but need to wait all the time for pickup, this is not a way to compensate and we are with 3 kids, 1 is 7 month old, and we need to be close to the room so we could not be in this pool. We asked for compensation from the manager and they wanted to give us 100 dollars! For a rouined 3 days from our trip. This hotel should have been closed for constructions or at least send an email explaining the situation for customers to decide, they told us that if we booked directly from them that they would have told us! I don’t understand this answer! So to customers that booked from 3rd party they don’t have any concerns to? This is the way to treat customers? Such a shame.

We are also at this hotel right now , and the main pool that we booked it for is under construction ! It’s the focal point of the resort , in all the pictures and instead it’s a big hole with tons of construction noise . We did book direct through Marriott and they did NOT inform us

It is the perfect place for family vacation. Though I can't say you ever heard loud kids. There is just a lot for them to do and be happy about. As for parents and grandparents it's paradise. I've traveled much of the world. This was the nicest most accommodating staff I've ever encountered. I'll be back for sure
