I always want to give an establishment a good review, but! Maybe I can just be helpful. 1. The good: Has nice big rooms, all face the lake with a nice balcony/patio. Our room was clean and beds were comfortable. The location is excellent. There is one outstanding older lady who manages the front desk. The price per night was excellent in today’s inflated economy. 2. The bad: As most of the businesses on the island employ national and international college students, no exception here. However, this lot were not trained properly and certainly not able to understand what you were trying to ask. They could not get beyond the basics. The public areas were not exactly up to par. The lobby carpets and hall carpets were due for a change. And there is no restroom in the lobby. You must go outside to a wet pool restroom. And, please don’t rent one of their carts. Poor things have seen much better days. Ugh. If you get one of the gas powered, anyone riding the back will be enjoying gas fumes. Their steering, the parking brakes, etc etc is bad. Yes, we complained and got another one. No better! Rent elsewhere! The ugly: The day we used the pool it was dirty. The skimmers were not on. Complained. Pool man had day off. No one else trained to help out. Young man sent out who scrubbed sides quickly. Said he had been there 3 days and his job was taking phone calls. Resorted to taking net and cleaning bugs etc ourselves and emptying the skimmers. Such fun! No! The ugliest was no free coffee in the morning. They wanted you to pay $3 per small cup. No making it yourself. No Keurig etc in your room. I will accept they don’t give you breakfast, but whoever stays anywhere these days that does not keep free coffee and a dispenser of ice water in the lobby. This is certainly not hospitality! 4. What we heard in town: This hotel has been struggling for years. New owners are supposed to be working on it but no progress anyone has seen. 5. Advise you go elsewhere

Loved everything about this place! It was a great stay. Only one thing I would change is please answer your phone! I must have called the 4 numbers and no one answered. Had to email to get a response from someone. My flight was canceled the day before and once I got a phone call back they happily switched my dates.

I actually would give it a 4.8 stars. Most important question is would we come back? When we do come back this hotel would top the list and we’ve stayed at 4 others in the past few years. The entire staff was outstanding. Our room was ready 3 hours early. The rooms were clean, linens fresh. The private balcony was just awesome especially the gorgeous lake view sunrise. 2 pools and a huge jacuzzi 👍🏻 We loved our stay. This is a short walk to the bar scene as well. The only things slightly annoying was no mini fridge to keep our off or on site obtained beverages cold. There was no on site food and of all the hotels we ever stayed in on or off island free breakfast bars is the norm. Departing travelers appreciate something quick to eat before heading especially with the premium cost of staying on island. The vending machines weren’t well stocked. We had to leave the hotel to find bottled water.

We are an older couple that tried to stay there 3 nights. The people at the front desk were nice and the room and the view were great. But there is no security at the hotel. The 1st night at 2:30 am some people were screaming at each other and we thought someone was going to get hurt. We had to call 911/police to stop it. 2nd night a group of ***** tried to break into our room at midnight while we were sleeping. Called 911/police again. Police came and said the people were on the wrong floor. It was terrifying! 3rd day we wanted to leave and hotel management gave us a runaround for a few hours and then gave us a partial refund that didn't even cover the 3rd day. Airriva is a terrible management company. I would not recommend them.

We unfortunately got stuck on the island because a storm came in and the ferry would not go back out. We were only planning on going over for the day. We found Bay Shore Resorts had a couple rooms for us. And needless to say, this was there last night for the season. There seemed like there was only one person working there. Couldn't believe how expensive the room was for the night for just sleeping there. It was over $200 for the last night, the ice machine was next to our room which made a screeching noise the whole night, AND you had to buy a 12oz cup of coffee in the morning for $3.16. Hell I could pay less than that and get free coffee and breakfast at a Holiday Inn. The view was nice off the screened in deck...when the weather would have been nicer. Just seems a little pricey to me for hardly anything but a nice view. Checked in to see how much to rent a golf cart...even though we really didn't want to since it was raining, but they said $75.00 for the day. Hell I had it cheaper with my reservation, that got cancelled, for a ferry ride and a golf cart for the day from E's Golf Cart Rental. Room was nice, high beds, but bathroom could use an update.

Oh, where to start, if I could give zero stars I would. First, I was asked numerous times for my scanned ID, even a few hours before check-in when I was in an area where I had no cell service to send an attachment (on the island!) The place is getting run down, and not clean at all, mold in the bathroom and the room just needs a good cleaning, the hallways are filthy and the trim is falling off the walls. Our door did not shut properly, we had to lift and shove to get it to lock. Asked for regular coffee in my room since it only had decaf and was told that was all they had, and that I could buy coffee in the lobby during their business hours! NOPE, went elsewhere to purchase coffee! Had nonstop issues with my key not working, every time I went to the front desk no one was around and I had to search for someone, while office staff in the back would turn their back and ignore us. Although after seeing what the other places were like on the island maybe this was one of the better ones. Not sure, but I will never stay at an Arriva location ever again, this was overpriced for the condition of the place! On the plus side, the pool and hot tub were wonderful, along with the view from the balcony. The location was within walking distance of restaurants and shopping.

Has gone downhill this was our 6th trip. Carpeting filthy, pool gross tiki bar and restaurant never opened. When we booked was told both were up and running. So disappointed! Time to find a new place.

I specifically booked the Bayshore because they said they had ADA accessible rooms. When booking they made me e-sign a document stating that an ADA room was actually required. When we arrived, they said I was booked into a normal room. The front desk had me call Arriva to get it straightened out (which they did but not until after many phone calls and a lot of wasted time. The Arriva representative that I spoke with asked how I booked my room, and I said on the website. He said that was why there was an issue and I shouldn't have booked on the website. Seriously?). The beds are ridiculously tall, you need a running jump to get in. Had to get a step stool from the front desk for my Mother to climb on to get into bed. Considering they had a step stool, I am going to guess we are not the only guests to have had an issue with the height of the beds. I think they need to re-read the ADA guidelines. The bathroom was moldy, and it is never a good sign when there is a plunger sitting in plain sight. The carpet in the hall and elevator needs to be replaced; it is dirty and coming up in places (I know it is the end of the season, but some basic maintenance would be nice). The room didn't have a refrigerator or coffee maker (you can purchase coffee in the lobby, but the attendant couldn't get the latte machine to work). The electric golf cart was nice but very expensive. The view from the balcony was excellent but the screens were ripped and need replacing. I will never book at an Arriva property again as this was a very sub-par experience.

The room was average. Clean with a nice view. Bath room could use a little attention/care. No breakfast in the morning. The Tiki bar outside is nice with the exception of $9 a beer! That seem to be the rate all over the island. We rented a golfcart from the hotel for the day at $90. Thought you might get a break for staying at their hotel but no. With that being said the priced for food and drinks all over the island is way over priced. It was a buckent list thing and probably will not be going back. Perfect place for a millionaire alcoholic!
