The hotel is very similar to those around it. The one special thing about this one is that we could sit outside for our meals and enjoy the outside vibe. Sunday night has a live band session which amazing. The outside play ground also catered well for our kids.

The room was adequate size but we were very disappointed that there was no information in the room about the hotel itself, the services it provided nor about the area round about and no maps . As non Chinese tourists we were completely lost and having nothing to refer made the experience very difficult. A 500RMB security deposit was taken from my card on arrival and we were told anything we spent would be deducted from this and the remainder refunded. But breakfast 180RMB was taken directly from my card account. When we had to leave early some of the remainder for the extra nights was refunded but my 500RMB has not been refunded and I have had no success contacting the hotel. I would like my money refunded as I have already paid for breakfast !!! I must say an outstanding staff member at the hotel is Rafa. He listens, advises , helps and went out of his way and gave us the best and kindest assistance. He was wonderful, an outstanding representative for DoubleTree Hilton!!!!

Trip gives the impression this is a five star hotel. It's not. It is 4 star. It is also quite dated. It's not bad, but it's far from great. Again, Trip gives the impression that it much better than it is. It's quite a worn out place with rooms in desperate need of a makeover. It also lacks charm or a feel of sophistication. Just kink of bland, really. Also, you can really taste the savings at the breakfast buffet. Again, not bad, but really cheap and bland. The one stand out was the Chinese food I ordered for room service.

This time we stayed in 1913, which is a bit smaller than the other suites. The windows are quite high, so it feels a bit cramped. Other than that it was still a really nice stay with superb service. They are always super helpful, and always help me to book restaurants. As always the breakfast is superb with plenty of western options. Also lots of good restaurants just down the road.

The Shangri la service standard is extremely consistent and welcoming whichever country you are in. It’s truly a home away from home. The manager Mr Kento Goto at Qingdao Shangri la where we stayed was extremely helpful as it was our first time in Qingdao. We had an enjoyable time in the beautiful city.

We were there for my wife birthday, the location was amazing and most of things were great ( we had a minor problems with bed and pillow) but the rest of things were wonderful. front desk staff were very kind and helpful.they sent a beautiful cake along with nice message to our room from hotel management and made a memorable moment for us. The hotel breakfast was perfect as well ,western and Chinese food were available.we recommend this hotel to our friends.

The Hotel is great for a quick Qingdao visit. Very close to the beach and seaside. Also the Tsingdao Beer Museum is very easy to find. Subway entrance is near to hotel. The rooms are clean and comfy. My expectations are totally fullfilled. I was four times at the hotel during different seasons. Everytime the service was fine. Very appriciated is the free tea and coffee, as well free beer during the Tsingdao Beer fest weeks. Many thanks to Hailey from the reception desk, she made the registration for foreigners very easy. Her business english is good

A great location for a holiday trip. There was plenty to do. The hotel amenities had something for everyone. I wished the outdoors pools and grounds were unkept a little more. On the way to the beach the boardwalk was destroyed. The building is a little old and could use some updating for the rooms but they staff works hard to keep things clean, orderly, and organized. Staff were very helpful from Check-in to checkout. Food options were plentiful. And the view was amazing.
