Haidu Hotel

The hotel's location in Huangdao is incredibly convenient. It's very close to the beach and various dining options, yet it doesn't have the crowded feeling of Qingdao. The hotel service is absolutely top-notch; every staff member is exceptionally friendly. I especially want to thank Manager Guo Ping and Xiao Song at the front desk for their meticulous, thoughtful, and patient assistance! I've stayed at many hotels in China, but this one left the deepest impression. "Hospitable Shandong" truly lives up to its reputation, and this family trip was particularly enjoyable.

We brought our child to Qingdao and had a fantastic stay at this hotel. We chose a room with wooden flooring, which was spotlessly clean, and the overall hygiene of the room was excellent. It had a fridge and even kitchen utensils, so we could cook our own meals, which was very convenient. I especially want to commend the young lady at the front desk. She was efficient and quick, checking us in without any delay, and she was very welcoming. We bought some seafood and found it inconvenient to carry, so a young man with glasses in the lobby kindly offered to store it for us and even brought it to us when we checked out – it was incredibly thoughtful. Ms. Guo from housekeeping was also very attentive. Seeing that we had a child, she proactively provided children's slippers and toiletries for the little one. Every detail was considered, making our stay very comfortable. We'll definitely choose this place again next time we visit.

The room was nice, clean, and hygienic, though the decor felt a bit dated. Breakfast was overpriced, and the staff seemed rigid. Our low-floor room, not facing the street, had noise issues, probably from the cafeteria's exhaust fans in the morning. A large shopping mall is conveniently located right across the street. However, for such an expensive hotel, there were no entertainment facilities like a pool, ping-pong table, or even a billiards table.

The air conditioning in the first room I stayed in wasn't working well, and the phone was broken. The manager helped resolve the issue, which is highly commendable. However, I have to complain about the food. The lunch prepared for the conference used stale ingredients. I expected fresh seafood in Qingdao, but I was sorely disappointed. The shrimp wasn't fresh; the meat was mushy. I broke out in hives that night, as I'm allergic to stale shrimp. The beef was also sour and not fresh. Very disappointing!
