It does have that old hotel smell but it didn’t take long for me to not notice it. On the other hand, if you’re sensitive to such things, then keep that in mind. The room is solid and the bed is comfortable. The real plus is the location and price. Good hotel.

The hotel was nice and quiet clean, most importantly it’s on walking distance from many tourist attractions. The staff were friendly and polite.

Location is great because our intention was to be in the Laoshan District. Might not be easy if most of your plans are in the touristy areas such as the Tsingtao Brewery Museum. Anyway, there is Metro (underground subway) which helped us address that in case we wanted to have a look at downtown. The hotel is a 10 min walk from either Haiyou or Haichuan stations in Line 2. We’re not so much of a fan of Chinese food for breakfast, so the free breakfast was not fascinating for us. They did have eggs and bread. There is an elevator to help us carry or luggage all the way to our floors. And the room was neat and clean, and they clean it every time we’re out.

Later, I found that it was actually quite bright when the spotlights were turned on. Every time I stay at Century Mandarin, the bed is very comfortable. It is the kind of soft and supportive, which is very rare for me with a bad waist. The hotel's breakfast is also delicious and convenient. Another advantage here is that no matter when you come, there are basically rooms, because the volume is very large, and because there are many rooms, they will not be very full, so it is very quiet when you sleep these days, and the sound insulation is also very good. I wish Century Mandarin will always be prosperous, and you can book Century Mandarin every time you come without thinking, haha!

I won't comment on the things that can be said in general. I had a bad experience staying here yesterday. It may be that I checked in at the wrong time. A person who was a little drunk was there and was arguing about issuing an invoice. Since there was only one person serving, I waited for him to be arguing. I went to the room and found several hairs. I didn't issue one or two, but there were several in the bathroom, which really made me feel very uncomfortable.

The bedside table is a bit shabby, but it's pretty good for a mini room.

Facilities: This should be an older hotel. If the training location was not here, I probably would not choose to stay here. After all, besides being cheaper, it is also closer to the beach. Because I booked a room for four consecutive nights and the occupancy rate was not high, the front desk upgraded me to a suite when I checked in. But how could I sleep in two beds? Also, I don't know who designed the washbasin and the faucet on the washbasin. The height of the washbasin is so low that a normal person of 1.7 meters has to bend over to wash. Hygiene: In terms of hygiene, the efficiency of cleaning the room is quite high, but the second day they didn't help to change the sheets and quilts. In order to promote environmental protection, most hotels will put a sign on the bedside table, if you don't need to change, you don't have to change, but this hotel didn't see this thing, but it can't be assumed that the guests don't change. After all, they stayed for four consecutive nights. Did they not pay for the next few nights except the first night? In the end, I called the front desk to remind the aunt who cleaned the room. From the front desk reception to other service staff, everyone had a stern face and didn't take the initiative to greet the guests. We checked in at 10pm with our tired family, and met an extremely indifferent front desk.
