Great hotel to stay, very clean, only 4 months old while I was there. Shower has great water pressure, bed very comfortable, auto blinds and the room has some smart aspects to it with a small touch screen or voice controlled to play music through the speaker in the ceiling. Breakfast was not bad as well, staff were nice and held my bag for me. Location is not a far didi/taxi ride to the high speed train and about 15 mins from the white water rafting which is why I visited Quingyuan. The hotel is not fully completed and the area around has shops but not open yet but I would predict this to be a great spot to stay in the future.

The location is relatively remote, and the surrounding environment is not very friendly. There are no restaurants and shopping, mostly lubricant stores. The view from the upper floors is average. The wall above the TV in the room has obvious water seepage or something causing bulges. The carpet in the lobby is very dirty. It doesn't look like it was newly opened last year at all. The buffet breakfast is pretty good, included in the hotel price, and the price-performance ratio is okay. After checking in, a robot delivered fruit, the service was pretty good, and the facilities in the room were complete. It's just that it's recommended not to expose the towels, and vacuum packaging is better. The network wifi signal is very poor. Even if I connected it in time, I couldn't open the web page on my iPad, and I couldn't use the screen projection function.

The room was small and it had obviously been smoked in, in the past. But it was good enough for what I needed. The price I got the room for was very good in my mind. Our stay at the Sheraton Lion Lake Hotel can be summarised in one word, disappointing. I believe this was/has the potential to be a lovely hotel to visit. The hotel and its grounds are massive, however, most areas are closed and there is a general feeling of abandonment. Fountains and water features are empty, shops closed, grass is overgrown and facilities a little dated and tired. The indoor pool and one of the restaurants were closed and the outdoor pool was not very clean. What it did have was excellent customer service, the Moroccan theme was very cool and the rooms overlooking the lake were clean and had a lovely balcony. Overall, not worth the money. If you are looking for a base to sight-see Qingyuan, there are much cheaper hotels around and if you are wanting to enjoy a staycation this will be a disappointment.
