Excellent location at downtown, 6 km from airport, 2.8% charges on international card payment. However toilet, shower room is limited

Convenient location with comfortable rooms. Three kitchens, all stocked with enough utensils and equipment to cook. However, very busy at meal times. Also hardly any room to store food in the fridge/cupboards, possible due to the amount of long term residents resulting in severe lack of food storage room actually free. Few toilets/showers, not enough for the amount of people staying at the accommodation. Also very limited parking! Arrive early before other guests if you want to squeeze into a space. Bonus was free tea/coffee. Good location for access to Queenstown and local walks (see picture).

Might be one of the best hostel around queenstown, I stay quite a many different hostel too

The bed is cleaned and firm. The cabinet is cozy. There is a electric heater in the room, which is fantastic for cold day.

Nice location, nice service, worth it

The location is strategic which near to town centre. Receptionist is friendly and helpful. The bunk bed is clean and everyday will have people to clean the common areas. Overall is good.

The facilities are generally good and satisfactory, but the parking location is lacking. If self-driving friends have the opportunity to find a parking space on the street opposite the youth hostel, it is basically free. In addition, we had requested in advance that the room should be quiet and have windows, and we basically did it. The room was relatively quiet, and there was almost no noise from other people after 10 o'clock at night. This is also one of the requirements of the youth hostel, as there are many backpackers. So we try to stagger the time we use public facilities. We drive out for most of the day, so it doesn’t take long to come back at night. The location is relatively convenient, the price is moderate, and I recommend it ~

There is only one public toilet and bathroom on the second floor, which is a bit insufficient!

It was so uncomfortable because all the beds were out of bed. It was hard to notice the dormitory room because it made a lot of creaking noise. The staff were friendly and did a good job cleaning. Still, it feels old, perhaps because it is a building with a long history. It was difficult to wash because the toilet and shower room were next to each other and there wasn't enough room. I'll go somewhere else next time.

The pros were the location and that the Queen Room we booked was nice for a hostel, with a comfy bed and a nice balcony. However the atmosphere here was unwelcoming and anyone looking to meet people during a brief stay should consider elsewhere. The place seems to be run by and mainly caters for long term travellers who treat the place like their own student halls and have no interest in interacting with anyone passing through, even when actively trying to make an effort. A Nintendo Switch was left in the communal area and the guys who tried to use it were told they needed to ask the guy that owned it before using. It's not a living room to leave your stuff around in - there are paying guests wanting to use the space and will assume appliances in the lounge can be used by everyone. Also a pair of underwear was left in an open drawer in the bathroom with a pantyliner attached to it - pretty grim. Otherwise the place was clean. A nice room and pretty good value, but the atmosphere did take the shine off our short time in Queenstown.
