VOI Praia de Chaves Resort

I mistakenly said 2 put of 5. I will say 4 out of 5. You cant hear the builders when doors are shut. Pool and beach are perfect Staff are incredibly friendly. Air con did not work when we arrived but staff fixed within less than a hour . Water pressure isn't high on showers but its down to when upu use them ..didn't know this when writing a review first time so I deleted that..I was to harsh with first review ans sisnr give place the time.to properly write about it.

Location is an island west coast Africa with white sandy beaches. It was 15 mins from airport and small town 20 mins away by car. So I went with all inclusive TUI, there was no TUI rep if you wanted to speak to a rep you had to phone or use the app. I was the only English person it is mainly Italian and French , I can speak a small amount of both languages but not enough to make conversation, so my holiday was very lonely. The entertainment crew are called Bravo who did all their announcements in Italian or french so was difficult to join in. When I said I was English and could they translate they said no it is an Italian hotel and that is who they cater for. So I don’t understand why TUI use this hotel?? Hotel was clean needs a bit of fixing here and there no sickness or poops. It says there are water filters around the hotel but none were in service. I used the gym has all you need except air conditioning so was a hot sweaty run. Three pools one is a child’s pool but they seemed to prefer the infinity pool for adults and parents just go with it. Beach is lovely but it’s so windy you can’t sit there to long. Would I go again no but I would go back to Cape Verde to another resort where they maybe someone to talk to.

The location of the resort was beautiful, definitely 5 star for the location, the service was appalling, nothing for British people, no trips unless you're Italian, no mini fridge as advertised, no tea coffee making facilities as advertised, the 24 HR bar in a morning we had to get reception to find the staff because they were no where to be seen, beds and linen was ripped, cockroaches and ants in rooms, had to keep asking for loo roll and clean towels, food was amazing something for everyone, the resort itself was beautiful, entertainment was mostly for kids, the resort itself was stunning but the service not so good, no one sanitized their hands before food then touching food, not washing hands after toilet then touching food, staff should refuse entry if you don't sanitize hands before hand, made some great memories but unfortunately I won't be returning to this resort.

We stayed for 7 nights in August and really enjoyed our holiday. The resort is spacious, peaceful and well organised, with excellent facilities and a very good quality-price ratio. The Kids Club and animation team were the highlight for our daughter — she absolutely loved it. The staff were generally very friendly and efficient. The main downside is the beach: although it is beautiful, the sea was very rough during our stay, with yellow and sometimes red flags, making it unsuitable for swimming. Some areas also had quite a lot of seaweed. The food was good but somewhat lacking in variety. Drinks were excellent. Our room was very spacious and the bed extremely comfortable, although the cleaning was superficial and some details showed signs of wear. There were also quite a few flies and wasps around the pool area, although this felt more like a local/environmental issue than a major hotel problem. Overall, we would happily return, particularly with children. If you are looking for a quiet, family-friendly all-inclusive resort with good facilities and great value, this is a very good option. If swimming in the sea is a priority, however, I would choose somewhere else.

Im actually here now 2nd day in. Definitely not worth the money we paid. Currently got builders in the block next to us drilling all day long . I've had better showers at a truck stop. Upgraded to the sea view room. But the actual room is 2 star . Plenty of flies around and in the restaurant. Positives- beach and sea is 10/10 Staff very friendly Would we return ? No

Location is wonderful with exceptional beach views. Rooms adequate not aligned to the star rating though. Atmosphere is 1990’s Ibiza with non stop pounding music around the pool and bar areas. Often with two competing thumping beats at the same time , so even if you recognised the tune it’s washed out by another. Measured the peak beats at 85-90Db which would required ear defenders in a work setting. So a quiet swim, snooze by the pool or conversation is impossible. The pools are all next to each other so there really is no quiet and relaxing space to sit. You can get a small break during the lunch period and the hottest part of the day. If you are 25 and want a party vibe until 23:00 this is your place. Most of the guests are not in this demographic however.

We have just returned from a 10-night stay at VOI Praia de Chaves. The location is absolutely fantastic — right on the beach and only around a five-minute drive from the airport, making transfers quick and convenient. The rooms could benefit from some modernisation; however, they were kept exceptionally clean throughout our stay, which is ultimately one of the most important factors. Housekeeping did an excellent job every day. The main pool was much larger than we had expected, and both pools were consistently well-maintained. Staff were regularly checking and cleaning the pool areas throughout the day, which was great to see. The buffet restaurant was probably the weakest aspect of the holiday for us. While the food was generally well-prepared, the selection became quite repetitive, particularly at dinner, with only minor variations from one evening to the next. Breakfast remained largely the same each day, although this was less of an issue. Unfortunately, there were also a significant number of flies around the dining area, often landing on guests and food while eating. One of the highlights of our stay was the entertainment team. From the very first day, my boyfriend joined in with the morning activities and games every day without fail. This helped him build a great rapport with a few members of the team, particularly Matteo and Christian, who consistently made him feel welcome, included, and valued throughout our holiday. Before booking, I hadn’t done extensive research into the hotel brand, and it quickly became apparent that VOI hotels primarily cater to an Italian market, due to being Italian owned. While most staff made a genuine effort to communicate in English, some understandably struggled due to the language barrier. On occasion, a few members of the entertainment team would walk past without acknowledging us, although this may simply have been due to limited English rather than any intentional lack of friendliness. As an Italian-owned hotel, the vast majority of guests were Italian, with a number of Portuguese visitors as well. As British tourists, we did sometimes feel that the hotel’s activities, entertainment, and overall atmosphere were geared more towards these guests. This isn’t necessarily a criticism, but it is worth noting for anyone from the UK considering booking, as the experience may feel less tailored to English-speaking visitors.

We absolutely loved our stay. Everyone was incredibly welcoming while also being very discreet, which made us feel truly relaxed and comfortable. My son especially loved the entertainer, Matteo, who was wonderful with the children and made the experience even more special for him. We would be very happy to return
