Tangkoko Macaca

I would definitely return to such a peaceful and magical place. We spontaneously booked a morning trek through Tangkoko National Park, which was actually quite affordable, and we were able to see all the animals we had hoped for. The people there are very kind and helpful – thank you for this wonderful experience! The rooms were great, clean, and everything was perfect. However, we decided to eat out since the food options were limited and quite expensive. Nevertheless, it was an amazing experience overall, and we would have loved to stay longer. We would definitely recommend this hotel!

Amazing wildlife. We have just returned from a brilliant trip to Tangkoko Hills. This is a very laid-back place to stay where you need to go with the flow. It has a nice airy restaurant serving great local fresh food. Stefen ensured we had excellent guides. We went on a boat trip along the coast and up a freshwater creek with Biyong to see some lovely kingfishers and saw a white-bellied sea eagle. The trip to Tangkoko park was outstanding, we saw so many black-crested macaques - it was so special see them hanging out in such large family groups. Our guides Raphael and Aria were so good at spotting - they found green-backed kingfishers and lilac, as well as bear couscous and in the evening the super springy tarsiers as well as tarantulas and even a yellow-sided flowerpecker sleeping bird! There are some lovely butterflies as well. This is a great place to access some incredible wildlife. Rooms are clean and airy with a nice verandah and aircon.

We loved our 2 night stay here. The rooms, whilst basic are clean and comfortable. Shower had hot water and beds had mosquito nets. The food was outstanding at lunch and dinner, some of the best food we ate during our trip. I can imagine after a few days it would get a bit repetitive but you won’t go hungry as portions are large! We wanted fresh coconut and they had some taken from a nearby tree for us to have. Staff were friendly and accommodating. WiFi worked best in the restaurant area. To see the wildlife in the reserve , we had a local guide called Madie who was amazing! He has eagle eyes! We saw tarsiers, macaque,cuscus bears, hornbill and so much more!
