The hotel environment is good and the service is also very good. A wild rhinoceros accidentally broke into the hotel. Everyone treated it gently and it was not timid. This shows that the animals and humans here live in harmony. Because it is so big, it blocks the road and is not friendly. I drove him out, and he was very cooperative and walked away slowly and obediently. An unexpected encounter and a wonderful memory!

It was very unpleasant. Ctrip prices are different from those paid at the store. Although Ctrip compensated for the difference, I still feel that we are being cheated. Car rentals and other items in the store are also very expensive, and the location is not very good.

The rooms were shabby and not at all worth the price. The bedding looked like it had been there forever, and the bathroom was in bad shape; leaky faucets, weird smells, and not properly cleaned. For what they charge, I expected way better. The staff? Sure, they were polite enough, but everything they did felt like it had a price tag attached. Instead of focusing on making guests feel welcome, they were constantly trying to upsell tours, activities, even basic conveniences. It felt so transactional and soulless. The food was overpriced and bland. I don’t mind paying for good food, but this wasn’t it. Even small things, like asking for an extra cup of tea, seemed like an excuse to squeeze more money out of you. And don’t get me started on the activities. They’re ridiculously expensive, rushed, and completely lacking in any real care or authenticity. It felt like they were just trying to cram as many people in as possible to make more money, not actually give anyone a meaningful experience. The whole stay just left a bad taste in my mouth. It’s so obvious that profit is their main priority not hospitality, not guest experience, nothing else. If you’re considering this place, I’d say save your money and go somewhere that actually cares about its guests.

This place was a great find and was a gold standard stay. We had travelled from India and welcomed the chance to relax for a few days in this beautiful resort. The staff and management were very professional and obviously loved what they do. The manager had arranger lots for us to do during our stay and it was very enjoyable. This is a must see if you come to Nepal 10/10 from us.

Sapana Lodge is a stunning and peaceful place to stay, taken care of very well and modern. Looking for a Chitwan package that was ethical and truly animal friendly, I'm happy I found this place. I enjoyed learning of all the beautiful projects they created and contribute to, including Women's Development, elephant sanctuary, local schooling and housing and more, which makes the place and the experience a lot more special. The staff and guides are all really lovely, and each experience unique. Dhruba made sure I was always comfortable and Dinesh Giri naturalist taught me a lot about Nepal, the culture, nature and more. The food was great and the room clean and comfy, I felt like a princess at all times. I will return🙏🏼😊💚

Of my travels to Nepal, and travel in general, Sapana Village Lodge remains one of the best places I have stayed. Located just outside Sauraha, the lodge is beautifully set amidst rice fields and banana trees. The lodge is built in the style of traditional Tharu houses and blends in perfectly with the surroundings. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and beautifully decorated. The restaurant serves delicious local and international cuisine and has a terrace overlooking a tributary of the Rapti River, the fields and the lovely garden. The Annapurna range can be seen in the distance. There is also a fireplace where you can sit and watch the flames or socialise with other guests. The lodge is run by local management and staff - all very knowledgeable, service-oriented and friendly. They can advise you on activities and arrange them for you. Not the mass tourism kind, but with the eco-tourism touch that is typical of Sapana Village Lodge. Another aspect that makes the lodge very special is that most of the profits are used for projects that support the local Tharu communities. It makes you feel good to know that your money is helping to fund a school for the poorest children and medical facilities.

Amazing experience, I recommend the place. The room is clean and nice, the restaurant really good, I had a nice safari and I had the opportunity to meet the tharu people, cook with them, fish with them and talk. The peace of this place is incredible

My experience at Sapana Village Lodge was far from what I expected based on the glowing reviews. The property itself feels neglected, with rooms that are poorly maintained. My bedding didn’t look clean, and the bathroom had a lingering unpleasant odor that made my stay uncomfortable. The service was also disappointing. While the staff were polite, they seemed exhausted and unmotivated, which wasn’t surprising when I learned they’re made to work extremely long hours for minimal pay. It left a sour taste knowing the company doesn’t seem to prioritize the well-being of its team. The food was another letdown. Despite the menu looking promising, the meals were cold, flavorless, and took ages to arrive. Dining became more of a hassle than a pleasant experience. To top it off, the tours and activities were overpriced and felt rushed. The guides seemed uninterested, and the whole experience lacked the charm and authenticity I was hoping for. Overall, Sapana Village Lodge didn’t just disappoint in terms of quality. It was also disheartening to witness the poor treatment of staff. I cannot recommend staying here, and I hope management makes serious changes to both their facilities and how they treat their employees.
