The mansion is gorgeous. It's a monument to the opulent prosperity that the steel industry brought to Pennsylvania at one time. Our rooms felt even extra spacious with the 12 foot ceilings and balconies. The staff couldn't possibly have been more friendly or accommodating. Since it's a Bed and Breakfast, let me say that the beds put us right to very comfortable sleep, and breakfast was absolutely delicious. We also swam in the pool, shot some pocket billiards, tinkered on their old pianos, and played a bit of chess with some very fancy old pieces. On top of that, the business itself provides very direct aid and support to the people of Reading, and supports other local outreach programs.

We loved this special place - a historically preserved mansion from the late 1800’s with original details, large comfortable rooms. There is a pool which is refreshing. Cesar, the owner was attentive and responsive. Food delicious! Recommend!

The exterior of the main building is impressive, but the interior main level is like stepping back into the Victorian era. Elaborate. Gilded. Stunning antiques everywhere you look. A gramophone by some guy named Thomas Alva Edison! And there was so much to take in, I almost walked right by the "record player." The breakfasts served at our leisure (we were there right after Memorial Day and there were fewer guests) was amazing. We had turon - if you don't know what these small fried bundles of gooey goodness are, you need to find out - and artistically arranged plates of fruit and other savory stuff. Then there is the bed. My wife and I are fussy. Mattresses are either too firm or too soft, too hot or too otherwise not to our liking. This mattress was perfect. So, great bed, great breakfast and amazing furnishings. What more do you want from a B&B? Excellent, attentive hosts? Ok, they got those, too.

What a hidden gem. This glorious estate mansion had been converted into a B&B and it is amazing. The history, the mansion itself and especially the owner, Cesar and his sister, Jeanette. Lovely breakfast served every morning and the rooms are so roomy and kept historically correct. The gardens and pool are inviting and relaxing.

Gracious hostess, Jeanette was a gem. The public rooms were spectacular. However, our suite in the outbuilding was large, but with bedroom and bathroom on separate floors, NOT good for midnight visits. The bathroom was outdated, with only one sink and mirror. Hallway carpeting was filthy; suite carpeting not much better. No light blocking materials for the 3 overhead bedroom windows, so at 5 am the sun came streaming in filling the room with light, and our day suddenly, unfortunately, got off on the wrong foot!!

This extraordinary mansion was absolutely stunning. We stayed in the main house which we highly recommend. The rooms were gorgeous. Took us back to the Victorian Age. The owner and staff were extremely accommodating and friendly, especially Maria. She made us feel at home and served us a delicious breakfast. We will definitely come back if we’re traveling in the area again.

Charming, beautiful old mansion and property. Everybody was inviting, nice and helpful. Will definitely go back again. We loved all of the old architecture, woodwork and stonework. The property itself feels secluded despite it being in the middle of a busy area. Just an absolute gem.

I came here with my wife for a weekend getaway. This was a fantastic experience. The building is a late 19th century Victorian mansion, with many original furnishings and lots of cool antiques. The host gave us a tour of the buildings and grounds, which we enjoyed. The room was very clean and very comfortable. Breakfast both days was a highlight - unique, cooked for us by the host, Cesar, and very delicious. Highly recommend staying here! I hope we get a chance to come back.

If you love historical buildings this place is for you! Everything down to the detailed woodwork is just beautiful! The owner will give you a tour that makes you imagine what it was like in the mansion over 200 years ago. Absolutely beautiful inside and out. Highly recommend this place, if not for an everytime trip to Reading at least cross it off the bucket list.
