Of all the 4-5 star hotels we stayed at during our February 2024 tour of the Northeast Brazil, Villa d'Oro near Olinda was the plainest, least memorable experience. Small rooms, basic breakfasts, cheap furniture, a miniature pool, and minimum service sums it all up. Ironically, Villa D' Oro charged us more than other really nice hotels and resorts that we stayed at in Recife, Praia Pipa and Natal, likely because of the Olinda carnival, which was happening while we visited. Villa D'Oro is just an OK place to sleep and that's that, no value enhancement, not even smiles at the front-desk and definitely an overpriced basic hotel that we would likely not be staying at again now that we have discovered less expensive resorts that offer so much more value. Take it for what it is, just a small, clean, safe hotel that offers a 2-3 star experience, and as long as you have no great expectations, you would he ok with it.

Localização excelente para quem precisar ir ao consulado americano ou canadense. Perto tem a clínica M Torax que é onde se faz a consulta com o médico credenciado com o governo canadense. Também na região o hospital Jayme da Fonte. O estacionamento da pousada fica de frente ao Extra supermercado. Deixamos nosso carro lá e fizemos tudo de uber pois o transito de Recife é complexo. O shopping Riomar não é longe. Gostaria de deixar os parabéns para a equipe do café da manhã. Elas foram simpáticas comigo. A recepção também. Voltaremos em breve!

The hotel is very well located, right in the center of Recife, where you can easily walk to several tourist attractions in the city, such as Marco Zero and Paço do Frevo. It also has a beautiful view of the city and the breakfast is well served. My only criticism is that sometimes room service is ordered but not delivered. In any case, I highly recommend it for the value for money and the excellent service.

GGuest UserThis facility formerly belonged to the Best Western Hotel chain, and they still adhere to Best Western standards. Very professional staff with a pleasant, customer-oriented and proactive attitude, caring and always with a smile. On arrival I was immediately offered a glass of water. All my requests were carried out instantly within minutes. The breakfast buffet offers a good variety of choices for Brazilian standards, even if the cooked components were pretty much the same every day. Very attentive, skilled and respectful restaurant staff. Cleanliness was just perfect. Very friendly and helpful housekeeping.

I actually booked this hotel by accident (I was looking at their sister hotel, the Marante Plaza Hotel, which is right on the beach for basically the same price). This hotel is 2 blocks from the beach in the same neighborhood. Despite “Executive” in the name, this is more of a budget-to-midrange hotel. The lobby is very attractive and the exterior of the hotel is also nice. The hotel staff are pleasant and helpful. They have valet parking in the front (for a very reasonable price). Breakfast is included and is decent. The room we stayed in had a partial view of the ocean. It was sparsely decorated. What I really didn’t like was the bed: We requested a double bed, but it was actually just 2 single beds shoved together. 1 plus 1 may equal 2, but 2 single beds don’t equal a double bed. I like to sleep in the middle of the bed, so I just kept slipping into the space between the beds. The pillows were possibly the most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept on. If it wasn’t for that, I’d have given them a better score.

QQiuwenbingThe location is facing the sea, about 10 minutes by taxi from the shopping mall. The front desk can speak English and is willing to help. They gave me a room at 12 noon and helped me call a taxi to the airport. It happened to be October 2nd, the day of the Brazilian presidential election, so it was difficult to call a taxi. The breakfast was average, but everything else was OK.

VVeronica SThe hotels in Recife all seem to be pretty utilitarian, and Hotel Manibu Recife is no exception, but it offers very good value compared to some other hotels that are quite similar. For $50 USD a night my room was clean and functional, with a small view of the ocean through some buildings. The lobby is nicely decorated but the attached restaurant is drab. The rooftop pool area has a nice view but is rather small. The point of all these qualified statements that I am making is that basically, for $50 a night you are getting a clean room with a utilitarian bathroom and shower, which is a pretty good deal for the area. My room at the Radisson was basically the same (minus the balcony at the Radisson) but cost twice as much. Some high points to the Hotel Manibu are that the front desk clerk spoke excellent English, and there is a good restaurant called Entre Amigos on the beach in close walking distance. A low point of this hotel is that I did not see any other restaurants open in close walking distance (others have said there are some, but I walked around and didn't see anything open besides Entre Amigos). Anyway, if you don't want to pay top dollar for a hotel on the seafront this is a very reasonable choice.

Spent 6 wonderful nights at this establishment. Firstly, the front office staff was amazing at reception and many thanks for going out of your way to accommodate an English speaker. The gym and swimming pool were also adequate and the location of the hotel is great due to its proximity to the mall, beach and restaurants. The only downfall is the quality of the breakfast which does have room for improvement. Overall, a great option for Recife and would definitely return.

Worst experience of my life, after 61 years of traveling around the world this is by far the worst place I ever stayed. I booked via Booking a week and after one day I had to go look for another hotel. It was flooding water in the room from windows and walls, the structure is rotten as you can see from the pictures. Staff was arrogant and liar, totally lack of customer orientation and intimacy. Lack of empathy, they were only able to propose a downgrade to a much inferior room (we booked the most expensive suite) or proposing a refund if we would leave the hotel. This is what we did and then they started refusing to refund, I had to call booking and I am still waiting to get my money back after more then a week. This hotel should be shutdown by authorities as it does not meet minimum safety requirements, the water in the room could cause electric hazard. The building needs a full renovation, it is not in a condition to operate! Staff was totally unhelpful, a terrible experience, I had to call the police to protect my rights, a real nightmare!! Don't go to this hotel !!!!

I have been traveling to Recife for last 10 years on business. I have stayed in this Ibis hotel a million times. Last stay was pre covid and latest stay was in May 2022. The hotel used to be my favorite hotel in Recife, but it has lost its touch. The problems 1. The room was FULL of mosquitos and these mosquitos were stubborn. It was almost impossible to swat them with hand. I used repellant but they had become immune to repellant. All night they were buzzing in the ears, during my 2 night stay. 2. There is a new car repair garage right at back of hotel. so if you are in say room 232 or 134 etc....you can hear this noise from early morning of car repairs and mechanics tallking, making it impossible to sleep along with the buzzing mosquitos. 3. when I arrived in room, toilet was very dirty with human excreta of previous guest still visisble. 4. The hotel's internet /wifi connection was dropping off every 5 minutes on its own. 5. When I arrived the front desk girl on duty at 0300 refused to speak Spanish or English and insisted on speaking only Portuguese. For me, this is unacceptable. that hotel staff not trained in a 2nd language. why hire these jokers, general manager/ceo of this hotel - public wants to know!!? Positives 1. Excellent location close to Recife airport 2. Good hot water in shower 3. hotel has excellent coffee selection to buy and sip in the morning. 4. Morning front desk staff is friendly. ( night staff was super rude) Overall, I do not recommend this hotel. I wiill NEVER return and I travel often to Recife. I hope you found my review helpful? GGuest User I arrived late at the hotel for check in, I made the procedure and I went up completely exhausted of the trip, I went to bath and had no towels available in the room, I called at the reception and told me I had to go withdraw (??) OK. I went down, picked up the towels I asked a coat gave me a bed copper that wasn't heating anything and had no other kind of cover. The room is large but with a screaming smell and no view to any place, since my window was in front of a residential, the bathroom was vacuum water from the box and the discharge was not working, when cleaning the room sometimes did not repair the room Face or floor towel, pq NOT HAVE been available, next to the hotel has a hamburger that leaves the place impregnated with fat smell all the time, coffee is well basic and repeated and to close with gold key missed energy for two days at the hotel with no return forecast, I was in the city at work I had to move to my base in the middle of the pq rain I could not advance my things from the hotel, I informed that I needed support because of the work to deliver and simply not to They exchanged me from hotel, arguing that they had no vacancies, the pool was in maintenance throughout the period I was there and there was only one lift working that at the coffee time I often went down from PQ stairs beyond the delay, was getting stuck. The chaos people dropped down with huge bags on the emergency staircase to get out of that place.As my own was already paid by the company, I had no choice and I had to stay 14 days in that mouse they call the hotel. My stay extended for 44 days but I went to another hotel that gave me the minimum comfort. The only thing that ”saves” is the service of the staff, all have always been very educated, at the reception, at the coffee and during cleaning, but it's all sad.
