Stayed here for work a few times. Rooms are always clean and tidy. Luckily this time I got a room in the outbuildings. Very nice room with a sofa. Clean and spacious. The gym is also great. Compact but with the main machines needed. Staff always lovely on the desk.

The location is beautiful, the spa fantastic with lovely and attentive staff. The room was very traditional, which was a lovely touch. The double bed however was too single beds pulled together and the mattresses were very hard, which made for an uncomfortable night's sleep. The food in the restaurant was lovely, but a little pricey for what it was. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and whilst I wouldn't modernise the rooms as they would lose their appeal, upgrading the beds and mattresses would be really beneficial for the guests.

Family lunch. Went out for lunch and had a lovely meal with my family. Food was excellent, took a little time to come but was worth the wait. Sat inside but there was plenty of seating outside for good weather. There is a spa and hotel attached to the restaurant. Inside could do with a little updating and looked tired in places but this didn’t spoil our experience.

Stayed here a few times for business, the rooms are very hit and miss although the bathrooms are generally very nice. It can be very loud in the late hours which isn't great, also my room had an alarming number of false widow spiders in it. They also tried to charge me hundreds of pounds extra for my girlfriend joining me on my last night which seemed very unfair especially since the charge was for no additional services, i'll probably avoid in future.

We were at The Olde Bell for a celebration of life for my father. The room we had allocated was beautiful, the buffet was excellent, fresh and lots of variety. Staff were lovely and very professional. 12 members of our family stayed on after the event, and sat in the beautiful gardens, then had an evening meal which was good but i think over priced. It would be good if they did a seperate bar food menu, rather than an expensive restaurant that can be eaten in the bar. Maybe something with plain, smaller choices. Not everyone wants to eat a big meal. The bedrooms were lovely, but the beds and pillows were very hard. Breakfast was good and was included in the rate of the rooms. All in all a nice place, excellent for events and gatherings.

We stayed at the hotel as part of a summer twilight spa offer. We were allocated a room looking out over the courtyard Carpark, it was really spacious and felt like a holiday home! The staff were so friendly and helpful. We had tea and scones in the beautiful gardens and then enjoyed 3 hours, with a buffet bbq dinner in the spa. Slept really well, and had a filling breakfast the next morning.

We've been here loads of times over the years both in the formal dining room and for casual bar meals. We decided to go for a quick tea the other night in the bar. The service and quality has always been great and you expect to pay a little more for this and the fact it is consistent. To start we had mushrooms on toast, this was very nice to be fair and fresh produce cooked well, but it needs to be for £9. Mains we had poached salmon nicoise (£24) and a lamb kofta (£22). The food was fine and there were no complaints and we were hungry. On reflection though both dishes were over priced for what they were. The salmon was not really a nicoise as there were no potatoes or olives in the salad - so that dish had no carb with it. Like I say, fine, but nothing special at £24. I know fish is expensive, but we'd do this in the week for tea and it definitely did not command this price for what was plated. The lamb kofta, again, no complaints and it was a decent portion and everything was cooked well. Just a bit underwhelming overall. Then the drinks, £7 a pint of lager (yes you read right) and £5.40 for the following shandy (half the beer is lemonade!). I know this is a hotel but this is really rather pricey. Shame really as the service was very good as usual, but for casual dining I don't think we'd choose to go hear in a hurry for a bar meal. The formal restaurant would still be a consideration.

Delightful old fashioned style hotel full of character. Wonderful staff and food is exceptional. My sister got married here in January and we have visited before to the spa which is also excellent. The food is 5 star quality. Excellent meal in the restaurant night before the wedding and full English breakfast was faultless. Rooms vary from very big and grand, to more budget friendly family room options. Definitely worth a stay here or stop by for dinner or to spend the day at the spa. I will be returning.

Absolutely knackered and desperately in need of renovation. Carpet was really worn and dirty. No soundproofing whatsoever with very creaky floors. The room was incredibly hot with absolutely no way of cooling it down apart from opening a knackered window which gave onto a busy road. £120 a night, I would call this extremely poor value if you want a decent sleep.
