D'Andrea Mare. Beware! This is a hotel that is declining. I would have given it 1 star but the food is excellent and the staff are incredibly hardworking and friendly (not the reception staff and stand in manager). The pool areas are a massive concern. 1 lifeguard for the whole resort! I was informed that they previously had 2 lifeguards, with one at the top of the slide. I am not sure why this has changed. The lifeguard cannot supervise all pools, it isn't his fault. A serious accident is inevitable! Another member of staff also informed me that they don't have enough staff and they have concerns about the management of the hotel. The staff were telling me this!!! The pool toilets are dirty and looked like they had been flooded. They were disgusting at times. After I complained, improvements were made. The pool is very dirty. When doing zumba and aqua gym, we were rubbing hairs off our hands after movements in the water. The swim up bar is a great idea; however, the ledge is always dirty. The management said the pool will get dirty by the end of the day due to people's suncream. I am not sure they understand what filtration is! When speaking to other families, they stated that a number of people had suffered ear infections. If you want a sunbed round the pool, be prepared to get up at 6am! After 6.30am they are all taken. There are signs up around the hotel, and on each table next to the sunbeds, that state that any towels down before 8.30am will be removed. This is not true - the lady on reception told me it happened daily. It didn't happen once! She said she would get it sorted. Nothing changed. Who wants to get up at 6.30am on holiday??? The food was excellent, and there is something for everyone. The breakfast is ideal if you like a fried breakfast! The manager of the restaurant was proactive and hard working; he runs a superb restaurant. He is excellent! The animation team tried their best. However, beach volleyball was cancelled as they didn’t have a ball and water polo was cancelled for days as one of the goals was broken. There is no animation team on a Monday: I haven't encountered this at an all inclusive hotel before. The evening entertainment is woeful; one night the leader of the animation team was dressed in a well used tiger costume making silly noises! My advice - go out and explore the local areas on a night. Rhodes Town and Patty's Cocktail Bar are a step above. He also led the longest game of bingo I have ever witnessed - they just drag it out! In addition, the animation team is like a merry-go-round of staff. Two left within days of us arriving. We were told by other guests that one of the animation team allegedly got involved in a fight with a guest. The animation team were also trying to get guests to go to after parties, including under 18s. We were also shocked to arrive back from Rhodes Town to find the leader of the animation team (Lesley) with no t-shirt on and making loud noises in the reception
