Rhodes Hotels with Airport pickup service

The hotel is clean and well maintained and the staff are helpful and friendly. We didn't eat in the bar so I can't comment on the food but it looked good and plentiful if a little overpriced! Be aware though that almost EVERYTHING is an extra so budget quite a bit more if you want to use sunbeds, air conditioning or wifi. We didn't as the costs were outrageous. We had a Superior Studio apartment and the beds were very comfortable and the room cleaned daily. We didn't find any of the 'complimentary' toiletries which they advertise although we had a lovely but empty liquid soap dispenser! The shower is really good and would be better if the shower screen had been bigger. They do supply a squeegee for you to remove all the water that sprays all over the bathroom floor. The shower has a fixed head and can't be adjusted and there is a switchable hand shower head for squirting your 'bits'. A good hair dryer is provided. The biggest deal-breaker for us was that in no way was it a fully equipped self-catering apartment. There is NO KETTLE, NO TOASTER and very little of anything else in the way of kitchen equipment. A coffee peculator is provided which is useless (and I stress useless) for making tea. If you want to self-cater, the very reason we booked this hotel, don't bother booking here. You will be very disappointed. If you want to eat out there are many very good restaurants within very short walking distance. You'll be lucky to get breakfast before 10:30 AM though. If you are a light sleeper then think about what it would be like sleeping within one meter of your fridge compressor turning on and off all night long. The balcony is far from private and ours had only a view of an orange tree which was sprayed with chemicals (I assume) every couple of days! It was right next to the walkway to all the other apartments which is great if you want to meet everyone while you're trying to eat your boiled egg and no toast breakfast washed down with lukewarm tea! All in all we had a great time in Rhodes and this hotel could so easily be made to be perfect but sadly I really think they are more interested in taking money than providing a comfortable self-catering holiday experience. Still gave them an above average score though for all the good reasons stated above but we won't be staying there again for all the many bad reasons. Be sure to check out the Royal bar just round the corner. The food is wonderful, the owner and staff are fantastic and the prices reasonable. A bit further on is the San Allotte restaurant which is equally good (maybe better) but more expensive.

We booked a 5 day holiday in rhodes town, which included, flights, transfers and accommodation at the City Plus Hotel We knew it was a 2star and thats fine , we loved the location and surrounding area Bering in mind its only a 2 Star and we were very pleased with the room , comfortable beds ,not soft , quite firm , perfect Breakfast was not included, so that was extra €9 and have to say it was Lovely, something for everyone, even bacon eggs and sausage The jewel in the crown are the staff A family run establishment and we arrived as guests but left as friends Especially Jannis and Thassos Thank you so very much for making our little holiday , a wonderful experience and we will definitely return Paul an Dave

Stayed here at the beginning of October as a solo female traveller and had a great stay, where I felt safe and welcomed. I don’t understand the negative reviews, these are family run, authentic Greek apartments and don’t advertise themselves otherwise. Agreed it’s not the Ritz, but you don’t pay Ritz money to stay here 😊. The whole complex is spotless, my room was cleaned every day, towels & bedding changed regularly, and an abundance of toilet rolls left. The staff are great, will just leave you to it, but there if you need them…..perfect. I had an issue with my kettle shorting the electrics which was remedied straight away. I asked for more bedding and was given this without question. I utilised the fridge and cooking facilities in my room every day, and managed to cobble together a few meals. Due to the amount of walking I did, I only used Charlie’s shuttle once during my trip but it’s a great service running at 11am/5pm/8pm. As a Hillside guest, you get 10% off a couple of restaurants near the drop off/pick up site. I had a Gyros meal at Eat Greek which was ok. The pool area is lovely with plenty of loungers and there are towels for you to use which is a nice touch. The walk to a supermarket is 0.7 miles and takes around 12 minutes dependant on ability. They will give you a lift back if you spend over 50 Euros. It is then only a few more minutes walk to the main beach and Faliraki centre. I beach hopped each day with the walk to Anthony Quinn Bay being exactly 3 miles and took around 58 minutes. I can recommend ‘Golden Hands’ for a massage, hotel collection and drop off which was included in the price: full body masssge, 35 Euros. I also went zip lining which was good, again, hotel pick up and drop off included in the 15 Euro price. I had trouble finding a quad biking trip for under 150 Euros but that may be due to end of season limited availability. All in all, a great holiday with lovely weather in the low 30’s and where I felt safe as a solo female traveller. Thank you Hillside, I will definately be back 😊

The hotel is situated in the centre of the new town area close to harbour and lots restaurants and bars. It is within easy walking distance of bus station and rhodes old town. The room are basic but nice. Its a family run hotel and the father manager made us feel welcome. The breakfast is basic but then the price for hotel is cheap. I was more than happy with everything about hotel. Downside is street noise but is is situated in busy area. For the money paid its well worth it and I would not think twice about returning. If you are looking for cheap hotel with basic breakfast located close to everything then check out price.

This hotel is located literally a two minute walk from the beach,with bars and restaurants and It’s about a 15 minute walk to the port and old town.Wr stayed for 4 nights and I can honestly say it was a great find and we were so glad we stayed here.Can’t fault the staff both on reception and maids or the cleanliness of the hotel throughout.Rooms were quite small for a family but we only slept there and we had a decent size balcony which included table snd chairs and an airer for our clothes which was very useful.The rooms had free air con which worked fine and kept us cool at night.you just leave your key in the switch when you enter the room and it turns on.Also if you close and lock the patio door it automatically comes on.We found the beds very comfy and would have been changed,along with towels,every 3 days.which was fine for us.The pool was lovely and clean as was around the pool area.Sunbeds we’re always taken quite early though,so need to get one fast if wanting a pool day.We we’re given free towels to use for the pool and had to pay 5 euros refundable deposit if taking them to the beach.We didn’t eat or drink at this hotel so can’t comment about that.We can not fault this hotel and were so pleased we stayed here.After a two year wait to travel and having to change bookings several times,we were not disappointed.

We arrived to Rhodes Airport on the 14th Sept, 2022 but no one came to collect, we called The Grande Della Rose Hotel- explained our situation to a very angry man at reception, who said there was nothing in their system, and there was no such booking, when we had paid for 7nts stay with breakfast, it said transfers was included with the price! We think the problem was to do with Customers Support- where we sent an email stating, the Time and the date of arrival but for some reason, Hotel Grande Della Rose did not receive it...had tried to contact Hotel 4 times via Telephone but was not able to get through. We paid for taxi to this Hotel...taken to our room..some time later, we was given a Bottle of Sparkling Wine and 2 Bowls of Fruit; and a 3 course Meal, for the inconvenience that had occurred. To be fair and honest, we found All the Staff at this Hotel very pleasant and helpfull and went out of their way to make our Holiday stay, comfortable and pleasant. Having travelled to many European beach resorts and stayed in many 4star plus hotels, this is one I will never return to. I have never left a bad review before but struggling to comprehend how it has got it’s stars. I’ll start at the beginning… Arrived around midnight, to be met by the receptionist who didn’t even welcome us. Threw papers on reception, told me to fill them in, all he wanted was the resort tax from me. No explanation of where anything was or what the hotel offered. There was a porter there but only helped those staying in the Elite suites, we were left to fend for ourselves. Next morning we found a beach towel card in our room, when we finally found where to get our towels, we were told that we needed a card for each of us, so would need to trundle all the way back to reception to get another. Frustrating when the booking was clearly for two. This wasn’t a one off, heard many people sharing the same problems . The deluxe Mountain View room was so disappointing, not as TUI advertised, which stated our room was complimented by a Mountain View. See photos, just shocking view. Pool areas are poor, there are no where near enough sun beds and the morning run to get one is not what you would expect for this supposed category of hotel. The adult only pool was filthy with slime marks all around the edge and floating bird pooh from the copious amounts of starlings nesting in the hotel balconies. Some of the staff were rude, in particular one woman on the pool bar who after ignoring my partner who had been patiently waiting (he was front of the queue). I looked over to see why she wasn’t serving him, she looked at me and said “what”. I told her I was just wondering why she wasn’t serving him and just said to him”wait” and continued to chat with her colleagues. So rude We never had a bed linen changed throughout our 7 day stay which is something I have never experienced before, the maids sometimes didn’t even take away our dirty cups. Just a poor experience, never again. And before asked, no didn’t report it to management, just wanted the week to end and come home. Maybe just us having a bad experience , bur the comments “complimented by a mountain view” an utter joke!! On a positive note, coming back to the beautiful island of Rhodes, seeing the stunning old town again, and beautiful Lindos, compensated for the poor service within this hotel. Just need to find one that actually is at least 4star plus.

So the reviews are true. This place is dated. Don’t be fooled by the beautiful pictures of the pools at night. It really is early 90s at best. See past the doric columns in the bathrooms, heavily glossed dark varnished doors, saloon style frosted glass strung from brass and fake grecian freezes the Mitsis product does not disappoint. The room was large with 3 full-size beds for our family (no sharing a sofa bed here) The a la carte restaurants by the pool coupled eith the book only italian and asian meant we never had to eat in the buffet for an evening meal. The cocktails were generous and service fabulous. Second to none was the kids club. Our kids got welcome gifts on arrival, treats throughout the stay and a goodbye gift from the kids team. It’s the first time my kids have actually asked to go to kids club and the team were amazing with them. The hotel is 10 min from the port where there are lots of water activities on offer and 15 minutes from the old town. Didn’t feel trapped in a resort as plenty to do locally. I would definitely see past the dated reviews and fully recommend the Mitsis Grand. I’ll also definitely try out some of their other hotels. 2// a fabulous family holiday.

The hotel, something came into the years, price and performance ok. The public spaces used but kept clean. Rooms renovated and bathroom top. Climate facility worked super and has not been extra cost. Very necessary at the over +30c heat. Had HP, but I only had breakfast. Breakfast very unpleasant, the same every day. There was only powder coffee. So I drank tea. Breakfast room without air/warm, so at the heat is not pleasant. All keeps clean and friendly staff as everywhere. All in all, at the price and super great location, I can please recommend the house.
