2-Star Hotels in Rhodes

We booked a 5 day holiday in rhodes town, which included, flights, transfers and accommodation at the City Plus Hotel We knew it was a 2star and thats fine , we loved the location and surrounding area Bering in mind its only a 2 Star and we were very pleased with the room , comfortable beds ,not soft , quite firm , perfect Breakfast was not included, so that was extra €9 and have to say it was Lovely, something for everyone, even bacon eggs and sausage The jewel in the crown are the staff A family run establishment and we arrived as guests but left as friends Especially Jannis and Thassos Thank you so very much for making our little holiday , a wonderful experience and we will definitely return Paul an Dave

Stayed at the hotel 23rd December 2023 to January 3rd 2024. The booking was for hotel & breakfast. On questioning the receptionists twice regarding breakfast was told breakfast not served during winter months. Only receptionists & cleaners working. The receptionists did not advise that the breakfast costs were diverted to elswhere so went out for breakfast, That was over 12 days so no alternative offered. The Bed was comfy but the accomodation was basic. The room was not cleaned on 5 days during the stay. The fridge was empty, not even water in the fridge. If we wanted drinks, there was at least one fridge in the reception area that had water, bear & soft drinks that had to be paid for. we were on a budget but not so tight that we could not afford to have breakfast outside the hotel but had we have been on a tight budget the extra cost could have ruined the holiday. . The wardrobe had carrier bags left over from a previous occupant & in one drawer & a few disposable razors from a large pack in another drawer presumably from a previous occupant. Having spoken to Tripadvisor, they state the the hotel diverted the breakfast cost to an alternative option but we were not advised of the same & the hotel refuses to compensate for the additional cost of having to get breakfast outside the hotel. No compensation offered other than the one night we did not stay due to the late arrival of a connecting flight from Frankfurt to Rhodes. We spent over 250 euros eating breakfast outside the hotel due to the Parthenon not offering breakfast. I do not recommend this hotel other than to say the receptionists were polite but not informative about the stay. There were others staying at the hotel who may have had similar experiences. Th booking contained false advertising in stating hotel & breakfast but did not vocalise any alternative. That is money taken for services not offered. If you are looking to stay in Rhodes. try other hotels that may honour what is advertised. Rich & Judy Hinds.

The Garden Hotel is located in the small village of Pastida, where you can enjoy the peace and local charm. Set amidst 10,000 m² of lush gardens, the resort is an appealing choice for those looking for tranquility. You will find plenty of leisure options at the hotel, from the 2 outdoor swimming pools to the hotel's evening entertainment. The children's pool is well-supervised by Garden staff. The other swimming pool is one of the largest in Rhodes and features a diving board and a slide, as well as hydrotherapy equipment. The hotel is ideally located for exploring the island. For a change of pace, you can visit the nearby town of Rhodes. Faliraki, with its endless entertainment, is a quick journey south east of Pastida, while the airport is only 4 kilometres away.

The hotel is clean and well maintained and the staff are helpful and friendly. We didn't eat in the bar so I can't comment on the food but it looked good and plentiful if a little overpriced! Be aware though that almost EVERYTHING is an extra so budget quite a bit more if you want to use sunbeds, air conditioning or wifi. We didn't as the costs were outrageous. We had a Superior Studio apartment and the beds were very comfortable and the room cleaned daily. We didn't find any of the 'complimentary' toiletries which they advertise although we had a lovely but empty liquid soap dispenser! The shower is really good and would be better if the shower screen had been bigger. They do supply a squeegee for you to remove all the water that sprays all over the bathroom floor. The shower has a fixed head and can't be adjusted and there is a switchable hand shower head for squirting your 'bits'. A good hair dryer is provided. The biggest deal-breaker for us was that in no way was it a fully equipped self-catering apartment. There is NO KETTLE, NO TOASTER and very little of anything else in the way of kitchen equipment. A coffee peculator is provided which is useless (and I stress useless) for making tea. If you want to self-cater, the very reason we booked this hotel, don't bother booking here. You will be very disappointed. If you want to eat out there are many very good restaurants within very short walking distance. You'll be lucky to get breakfast before 10:30 AM though. If you are a light sleeper then think about what it would be like sleeping within one meter of your fridge compressor turning on and off all night long. The balcony is far from private and ours had only a view of an orange tree which was sprayed with chemicals (I assume) every couple of days! It was right next to the walkway to all the other apartments which is great if you want to meet everyone while you're trying to eat your boiled egg and no toast breakfast washed down with lukewarm tea! All in all we had a great time in Rhodes and this hotel could so easily be made to be perfect but sadly I really think they are more interested in taking money than providing a comfortable self-catering holiday experience. Still gave them an above average score though for all the good reasons stated above but we won't be staying there again for all the many bad reasons. Be sure to check out the Royal bar just round the corner. The food is wonderful, the owner and staff are fantastic and the prices reasonable. A bit further on is the San Allotte restaurant which is equally good (maybe better) but more expensive.

A lovely hotel with very friendly staff - as you'd expect for a 2 star it isn't the best place in Greece but it's perfect for those who expect to be out and about constantly. We used it as a place to sleep and have a few dirnks whilst getting ready and it was great: the staff couldn't have been more helpful giving us a key fob so we could come in late at night, offering us free drinks and booking us taxis

Our room was busy and they made us wait for a taxi more than half an hour (for surely because all the taxis take them almost) they led us to another hotel not too far, Very nice with pool etc. in the morning after we had to go back the room wasn't ready yet, but after a short time they made us up, it would also be nice if the bathroom had been cleaned a little better and the towels that are changed every morning The staff is also clean. Fortunately, the staff is friendly and available. However, I advise you to change something from breakfast buffet at least every two days because after a little while you have a nausea because you are a little bit. Great find, didn’t stay we just had breakfast. We were forced in by the rain on our way to the beach, doesn’t look like much from the outside really but it’s great breakfast! British style bacon, fresh orange juice, HP sauce, generous with the butter and top up your tea and coffee for free without asking. The staff are friendly and although we haven’t been into the bar it does look very well stocked and clean.

Convenient location, friendly helpful staff, spacious accesible kitchen with lots of cutlery and other options for prep. Ovens and stovetops all worked fine, and fridges had lots of space. Staff had tips on local places to visit, and did outings like the highly recommended sunset sail trip. Incredible experience there What disappointed me was where I stayed in the hostel. I was put in the basement, in a room with 2 other people. The 3 beds room option does NOT work. Horrible idea, any sounds are made louder because the space is so tight. Also, during my stay, basically everyone there was sick or coughing, or something was going around. Some of the staff got sick, and a few members despite having colds or active coughs, were actively working instead of isolating or resting. I saw one member cough right into their hand then go to pick fruit to make a drink at the bar with, yikes. Some of the staff though know to be responsible and isolate... Smacked my head 5 times going to the washroom or going up and down the stairs, or under low doorways. Felt like I was a prisoner or something else by being in the basement, it really made the stay worse. Also, the room is right next to the kitchen and outdoor seating area, so all that noise comes right into your room. My suggestion: stop renting the basement out, enforce quiet hours earlier (some of the staff really did not care about that). Would not stay again, sorry. My visit to Rhodes was great except for this.
