Hotels near Kato Petres Beach in Rhodes

The hotel is clean and well maintained and the staff are helpful and friendly. We didn't eat in the bar so I can't comment on the food but it looked good and plentiful if a little overpriced! Be aware though that almost EVERYTHING is an extra so budget quite a bit more if you want to use sunbeds, air conditioning or wifi. We didn't as the costs were outrageous. We had a Superior Studio apartment and the beds were very comfortable and the room cleaned daily. We didn't find any of the 'complimentary' toiletries which they advertise although we had a lovely but empty liquid soap dispenser! The shower is really good and would be better if the shower screen had been bigger. They do supply a squeegee for you to remove all the water that sprays all over the bathroom floor. The shower has a fixed head and can't be adjusted and there is a switchable hand shower head for squirting your 'bits'. A good hair dryer is provided. The biggest deal-breaker for us was that in no way was it a fully equipped self-catering apartment. There is NO KETTLE, NO TOASTER and very little of anything else in the way of kitchen equipment. A coffee peculator is provided which is useless (and I stress useless) for making tea. If you want to self-cater, the very reason we booked this hotel, don't bother booking here. You will be very disappointed. If you want to eat out there are many very good restaurants within very short walking distance. You'll be lucky to get breakfast before 10:30 AM though. If you are a light sleeper then think about what it would be like sleeping within one meter of your fridge compressor turning on and off all night long. The balcony is far from private and ours had only a view of an orange tree which was sprayed with chemicals (I assume) every couple of days! It was right next to the walkway to all the other apartments which is great if you want to meet everyone while you're trying to eat your boiled egg and no toast breakfast washed down with lukewarm tea! All in all we had a great time in Rhodes and this hotel could so easily be made to be perfect but sadly I really think they are more interested in taking money than providing a comfortable self-catering holiday experience. Still gave them an above average score though for all the good reasons stated above but we won't be staying there again for all the many bad reasons. Be sure to check out the Royal bar just round the corner. The food is wonderful, the owner and staff are fantastic and the prices reasonable. A bit further on is the San Allotte restaurant which is equally good (maybe better) but more expensive.

We booked a 5 day holiday in rhodes town, which included, flights, transfers and accommodation at the City Plus Hotel We knew it was a 2star and thats fine , we loved the location and surrounding area Bering in mind its only a 2 Star and we were very pleased with the room , comfortable beds ,not soft , quite firm , perfect Breakfast was not included, so that was extra €9 and have to say it was Lovely, something for everyone, even bacon eggs and sausage The jewel in the crown are the staff A family run establishment and we arrived as guests but left as friends Especially Jannis and Thassos Thank you so very much for making our little holiday , a wonderful experience and we will definitely return Paul an Dave

Stayed here at the beginning of October as a solo female traveller and had a great stay, where I felt safe and welcomed. I don’t understand the negative reviews, these are family run, authentic Greek apartments and don’t advertise themselves otherwise. Agreed it’s not the Ritz, but you don’t pay Ritz money to stay here 😊. The whole complex is spotless, my room was cleaned every day, towels & bedding changed regularly, and an abundance of toilet rolls left. The staff are great, will just leave you to it, but there if you need them…..perfect. I had an issue with my kettle shorting the electrics which was remedied straight away. I asked for more bedding and was given this without question. I utilised the fridge and cooking facilities in my room every day, and managed to cobble together a few meals. Due to the amount of walking I did, I only used Charlie’s shuttle once during my trip but it’s a great service running at 11am/5pm/8pm. As a Hillside guest, you get 10% off a couple of restaurants near the drop off/pick up site. I had a Gyros meal at Eat Greek which was ok. The pool area is lovely with plenty of loungers and there are towels for you to use which is a nice touch. The walk to a supermarket is 0.7 miles and takes around 12 minutes dependant on ability. They will give you a lift back if you spend over 50 Euros. It is then only a few more minutes walk to the main beach and Faliraki centre. I beach hopped each day with the walk to Anthony Quinn Bay being exactly 3 miles and took around 58 minutes. I can recommend ‘Golden Hands’ for a massage, hotel collection and drop off which was included in the price: full body masssge, 35 Euros. I also went zip lining which was good, again, hotel pick up and drop off included in the 15 Euro price. I had trouble finding a quad biking trip for under 150 Euros but that may be due to end of season limited availability. All in all, a great holiday with lovely weather in the low 30’s and where I felt safe as a solo female traveller. Thank you Hillside, I will definately be back 😊

I've just returned from an amazing week long stay at the gorgeous Mayia Resort and what a wonderful stay I had. It was my best friend's birthday whilst we were there and we arrived at our room to see a delicious cake and some chocolates waiting for us. I had emailed the hotel before our stay asking about this and they were incredibly quick to reply and very helpful in arranging this for us. The hotel itself is in a great location and really does have some of the best views I've seen whilst on holiday. The staff are all incredibly welcoming, friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. We felt very well looked after during our time here and I want to thank all the staff at the Mayia for making our stay extra special. It's clear to see how hard everyone works and it's truly appreciated. The food was delicious, a particular highlight was the Greek restaurant which we went to for lunch on our last day. I must also mention the street food corner and the beach bar. The food at both of these options were amazing for lunch and the service was equally amazing. There is a lovely shop at the hotel too which has wonderful gifts. The cocktails were exceptional and service at the pool, main and beach bar was excellent. The room was comfortable and definitely large enough for the two of us, the mini bar was restocked daily too which was brilliant. There is nightly entertainment which is fantastic and a lovely addition to the evenings. The hotel was the perfect place for a relaxing holiday where I could really switch off from everyday life but you can also easily get the bus into Lindos for the day if you'd like or you can access other excursions if you wish. This is the first time I can genuinely say I want to return to a hotel and would come back as soon as possible. Rhodes itself is a beautiful island packed with lots to do and see and the Mayia is a stunning hotel. If I could come back next week, I would. I'm sure I've missed out many more positives in this review but I highly recommend the Mayia Resort and I really want to express my u**ost thanks to everyone who works at the resort. So the reviews are true. This place is dated. Don’t be fooled by the beautiful pictures of the pools at night. It really is early 90s at best. See past the doric columns in the bathrooms, heavily glossed dark varnished doors, saloon style frosted glass strung from brass and fake grecian freezes the Mitsis product does not disappoint. The room was large with 3 full-size beds for our family (no sharing a sofa bed here) The a la carte restaurants by the pool coupled eith the book only italian and asian meant we never had to eat in the buffet for an evening meal. The cocktails were generous and service fabulous. Second to none was the kids club. Our kids got welcome gifts on arrival, treats throughout the stay and a goodbye gift from the kids team. It’s the first time my kids have actually asked to go to kids club and the team were amazing with them. The hotel is 10 min from the port where there are lots of water activities on offer and 15 minutes from the old town. Didn’t feel trapped in a resort as plenty to do locally. I would definitely see past the dated reviews and fully recommend the Mitsis Grand. I’ll also definitely try out some of their other hotels. 2// a fabulous family holiday.

The hotel is situated in the centre of the new town area close to harbour and lots restaurants and bars. It is within easy walking distance of bus station and rhodes old town. The room are basic but nice. Its a family run hotel and the father manager made us feel welcome. The breakfast is basic but then the price for hotel is cheap. I was more than happy with everything about hotel. Downside is street noise but is is situated in busy area. For the money paid its well worth it and I would not think twice about returning. If you are looking for cheap hotel with basic breakfast located close to everything then check out price.

This hotel is located literally a two minute walk from the beach,with bars and restaurants and It’s about a 15 minute walk to the port and old town.Wr stayed for 4 nights and I can honestly say it was a great find and we were so glad we stayed here.Can’t fault the staff both on reception and maids or the cleanliness of the hotel throughout.Rooms were quite small for a family but we only slept there and we had a decent size balcony which included table snd chairs and an airer for our clothes which was very useful.The rooms had free air con which worked fine and kept us cool at night.you just leave your key in the switch when you enter the room and it turns on.Also if you close and lock the patio door it automatically comes on.We found the beds very comfy and would have been changed,along with towels,every 3 days.which was fine for us.The pool was lovely and clean as was around the pool area.Sunbeds we’re always taken quite early though,so need to get one fast if wanting a pool day.We we’re given free towels to use for the pool and had to pay 5 euros refundable deposit if taking them to the beach.We didn’t eat or drink at this hotel so can’t comment about that.We can not fault this hotel and were so pleased we stayed here.After a two year wait to travel and having to change bookings several times,we were not disappointed.
