NOT A 4 STAR HOTEL Our group of 6 people arrived at this hotel and was checked in by a young man on the night shifts. We had 1 twin room & 4 singles. 3 of our party ended up in their annex which was a 7 minute walk away and we we’re supposedly upgraded to a room with a jacuzzi on the balcony along with another of our party. Due to overbooking he had to move rooms the following day and ended up in the annex with the others which was very inconvenient. Our room was very small for 2 people and the bathroom / wet room is the smallest I have ever seen. No room to put a toilet bag anywhere and everything got soaked when showering. Our towels were changed daily as we had to use them to mop up the floor after showering. The jacuzzi on the balcony was overlooked by the hotels opposite and we only used it once for this reason. The cooked breakfast was lukewarm most mornings and only tinned fruit on offer along with cold meats & cheeses. The cereal seemed stale and the diluted fresh orange wasn’t replenished. It was noisy from the street if you left your doors open. We didn’t use the gym which was quite basic and the sauna was always switched off. We complained about our rooms and the group being separated but no one was interested. Those in their annex had bigger rooms but noise from the bars and the tarpaulin from an adjacent building constantly flapping made it hard to get a decent nights sleep. The location was ok being 10 minutes from the old town and beach with lots of tavernas nearby to eat. I wouldn’t stay in this hotel again and I wonder how it got its 4 star rating

Hello all, my husband and I are currently staying at the esperia city hotel Rhodes. We have no complaint at all about this hotel. Rooms are clean, all areas are clean staff are friendly and very helpful. Lovely breakfast that caters for various dietary requirements. I am from the uk and do not necessarily want an English breakfast which is available everyday, because I love to eat the authentic food in the country I am staying. The Greek style breakfast is amazing and so much choice. The hotel is centrally located for everything, beach, harbour , restaurants, bars, and many shops supermarkets!! too much choice !! We were worried about staying here as there are a few very negative comments about this hotel. Do not believe them, we are a well travelled couple and we usually stay in the top hotels around the world !!! 5* For a 3* hotel we are extremely impressed and would definitely return 😃

We love the location, it is in new part where we liked more then old town. There are so many restorant, cafes and nice beaches around. Hotel stuff is so kindly, smiling and helpful. I definetly suggest to stay here. I am sure if we come again we will stay here again.

A lovely hotel with very friendly staff - as you'd expect for a 2 star it isn't the best place in Greece but it's perfect for those who expect to be out and about constantly. We used it as a place to sleep and have a few dirnks whilst getting ready and it was great: the staff couldn't have been more helpful giving us a key fob so we could come in late at night, offering us free drinks and booking us taxis

I very much enjoyed my 7-night stay at Pylea Beach. I stayed in room 311 (the top floor, two floors above ground). The hotel offered virtually everything I needed, as a solo traveller. The bed was comfortable, with clean, fresh linen. There was plenty of space, with adequate storage and a large desk/dressing table plus two bedside cabinets. The air conditioning was excellent, super efficient and easy to operate (and a must in temperatures of close to 40°c). There was a full size refrigerator, with small freezer compartment. This was a welcomed addition! There was a key-operated safe, which I rented for €21 for the week, which I was happy to do. The bathroom had all I needed. Plenty of surface space for toiletries. A very effective shower, with great pressure. Towels were changed every other day (I was happy to reuse). The balcony area was pleasant, not huge but plenty big enough for two fair size chairs and round table. This room got the sun in the morning. There were full size, lockable shutters over the balcony doors, which really helped keep the heat out during the day, along with the curtains inside. WiFi was free and pretty effective. The breakfast was served 7am-10am. There was a fair selection of cereals, hot items, continental breakfast items, fruits and breads, along with juices, tea and coffee. The breakfast area was super chilled out, a very relaxing start to the day. I really enjoyed the food I ate there, each morning. The pool and lawn area were a great size, with plenty of loungers and parasols, set amongst really pretty and well maintained gardens. The Pylea Beach is situated a stone's throw from the beach, which was so convenient. They offer free loungers and parasols to guests there too. There were plenty available. I did notice a beach bar, but didn't use it. It seemed to offer a decent selection of beverages and some ice creams. I loved this hotel as my base in Ialyssos. It's a fairly quiet resort, so ideal for a very relaxed time. Reception staff were helpful. Cleaners were lovely, they did a great job and were unobtrusive. They didn't come in particularly early (after 11am). Right next door to the Labranda Blue Bay Resort, which is a lively, family resort. Personally, this didn't bother me in the slightest. There's a mini market within a few minutes walk, which was handy. Bottles of drinking water on sale in the hotel reception, which was very useful. Only very minor downside, there was no tea/coffee facilities in the room. I'd packed my own travel kettle and tea bags, which solved that issue for me! I'd absolutely recommend Pylea Beach, particularly to couples and solos.

This was our first time at this hotel and it happened at the last minute. We were in the amazing presidential suite for 4 nights and it was an unforgettable experience. The hotel is for adults only which immediately elevates it for us and gives absolute peace and quiet to someone looking for it. It spreads over a large and very clean area and was polished every day. The suite is the most private and romantic place in the hotel and we enjoyed every moment we were there. It is very large, very luxurious, furnished in high style with a gym, sauna, jacuzzi and an extraordinary heated private pool. You can jump into it at any moment and at any time even at night because the water is really great. Breakfast is served in the main restaurant and you can find here a huge variety of all the things you eat in the morning and beyond. Everything is very fresh and tasty and the view to the sea adds to it even more. In the evening there are several options - you can go to the main restaurant again but we have never been there in the evening. There are 3 more restaurants according to the menu and we were all the time in two restaurants with Italian staff in the kitchen – Armira and La Pasteria. From the first evening we arrived and were welcomed there by the amazing staff, we already knew we would return here again and again. This is thanks to the manager of these restaurants named Giota. I must point out and draw your attention to everyone who reads these lines - it's hard to describe the level of love and warmth she radiates from the first moment she meets her guests. Giota helps choose a table, she recommends the tastiest dishes in the restaurant She simply does everything and beyond to make the guests feel the most comfortable and the most fun during the meal. She always looks really stylish and impressive and we managed to become real friends with her. More than that, the decision to come back here one more time was also influenced by the treatment we received from her at the dinners. One evening my wife had a birthday and Giota really moved us when we arrived at the meal and the table was with flowers. At the end of the meal a team came to the table with a birthday cake and sang to my wife ”Happy Birthday to you…” We simply did not expect such a really high level of treatment and we were really impressed. The dishes served there were simply amazing and the chef's level is very high. Those who understand food and culinary dishes will find there many options for every taste. We really didn't want to leave after 4 nights and of course want to return to this hotel again. Highly recommended for couples for a romantic and quiet vacation.

Large room with very little storage, you have an open hanger rail and a couple of drawers. Only a coffee machine in the room, no kettle, tea, or iron. The rooms are not soundproofed but seem to be fine after 23:00. The sunbeds around the pool are about eight inches from the ground. Some are just a foam pad on the floor it may look cool, but they are impractical and uncomfortable. You can not reserve beds, which is good, but any bed left for more than 15 minutes will have your items removed. You are not allowed your own soft drinks around the pool. Only those bought from the bar are allowed. That includes water it is rather strange watching adults surreptitiously eating crisps and drinking water from their bags. Breakfast is good but only the water is self-service all other drinks need to be served by a member of staff. Which can take a while as they can be extremely busy. I recommend going half board as the evening meals are very good, it is an ever changing menu served at your table. Our waitress Rafaela was always smiling, and nothing was too much trouble. WiFi and Aircon are excellent. Most nights, the entertainment is a dj on the couple of nights they had live bands it was very good. The Bus to Rhodes only 4 euro from outside the  Hotel you are also very close to a supermarkets and the beach which was great for swimming. Stavroula was very, very helpful when we had a room problem. Her customer service was very impressive. Some of my comments may seem a bit negative, but we did enjoy our stay and would certainly go back.

We stayed from the 11th-16th August and had a great time! The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful, particularly the receptionist who worked most mornings. We felt very safe. The pool is great and usually had sun loungers available, we stuck our towels out there at 9:30ish before heading to breakfast and there were options, there were some people reserving loungers and not using them all day but generally wasn't too bad. The shop is cheap and has good options. We booked full board which is actually soft all inclusive (alcohol with meals but not at the bar, all food, snacks and soft drinks included). The food was great, a good selection for everyone even fussy eaters, we loved the pasta bar and pancakes. We arrived just before dinner finished and they rushed us in so we could eat before it closed, we left at 7pm after checking out at 11am and they allowed us to keep our all inclusive all day. The beach is lovely and so close, only takes 2 minutes to walk there from the pool, sun loungers cost €10 for 2 all day, if you plan on spending a day there it's worth the money as the beach is quite pebbly. There's lots of water sports available and is generally not that busy. They have great excursions, definitely book the calypso lazy day cruise, only €55 for 6 hours on a boat with 4 swim stops in the bluest sea you’ve ever seen and lunch and fruit included. There’s a €10 transfer but it was fully booked so we got the bus just in front of the hotel for €1.80 each way, the timetable can change daily though so be sure to check. Only negatives were that the cleaners (who do an amazing job! Even mopping the floors every other day) propped the door open while cleaning so there were a lot of bugs in the room, the bathroom just had a frosted shower door which didn’t block any sound so there was very little privacy and the emergency light by the door was really bright, it lit up the whole room and couldn’t be turned off. Overall totally worth it for a great holiday!

Lovely stay in general, shuttle transfer took forever about 2.30hr so would recommend private taxi. Arrival around 2am greeted by friendly receptionist who informed us we could get food as restaurant is pretty much open 24hrs but we just wanted our bed. The bed large and comfy, lovely pillows. Room spacious good shower pressure and restocked mini fridge water, fizz, beer. Not a very nice outside seating area on ground floor, slab of stone with grass and cigarette butt's everywhere. Hundreds of ants in the room but room cleaned everyday so they seem to disappear then come back, guess can't be helped. Pools quiet but cold and salt walter, no problems getting a lounger but wasn't in school holidays. Food, good Greek brunch the best out of all restaurants. Breakfast buffet in main restaurant I struggled with and mostly just ate cereal and toast but I imagine choice would please most. I'm just not one for eating cheese potatos and veg for breakfast. Cocktails were good especially expresso martini and some premium brand spirits available. Lovely crepe and gelato shop. Pizza place on the beach was fab. Service overall friendly and welcoming. Entertainment was also good kids and adults loved the magician wasnt cheesy at all really made everyone laugh. What did disapoint me was lack of things to do in the day for children, there was a kids club located on the beach and a schedule of activities but when we visited was just always colouring in. Maybe as I said wasn't the school uk holidays. Overall great relaxing holiday bit don't think we would return unfortunately
