The oldest hotel in the oldest town in Scandinavia, what is there not to love? Sure, there are no elevators, but that is to be expected when staying in a 16th century building, which is totally part of its charm. The location is unbeatable, right smack in the middle of Ribe. Facilities and Wi-Fi are excellent, and the room is super cozy and comfortable.

Amazing historic hotel in the centre of Ribe. We stayed in the Annex on the 2nd floor - very quiet & adorable- highly recommend.

Whimsical and ramshackle but in a very characterful way as it is a very old hotel. My room was not the best as it was at the rear of the property with no view of the cathedral and only of the kitchen ventilation system however it was absolutely fine. The staff were completely delightful and I would happily stay there again.

It’s is a very hotel. How often do you stay in one like this. Unique experience. Breakfast was good. Beds a little tricky as the floors are all slanted. Excellent location in the middle of town. 

Beautiful historic hotel with outstanding restaurant. The only choice if you visit Ribe!

We were in the annex, so newer and spare,   Important to book parking whomaking a reservation.

Cozy unique setting, helpful friendly staff even when lots going on..,breakfast was very good…and the complementary hot chocolate snd coffee offered were nice touches.  

Oldest hotel in the oldest village in Denmark, so expect period quirks and style..

great downtown location, we stayed in the newer part across the street and our room was a very nice size. We had breakfast and it was very good.

Hotel has lots of history & character in Ribe, the Williamsburg of Denmark, a country like Singapore/IKEA where all is clean & neat.

A historic property in a lovely district. The hotel has been decorated with significant art. My room was bright and sunny and comfortable.

THe hotel supposedly dates back to the 16th century making it not just Ribe’s oldest, but probably one of the oldest in Scandinavia! SO you get to stay and sleep in a piece of history. And every nook and corner of the hotel oozes historic character - from murals and paintings to timber and writings. They even offered free Coffee, that you could help yourself to all day long, from a machine in the lobby.  LOCATION: Fantastic location right in the main square in front of the stunning cathedral  DINE + DRINK: Excellent Restaurant with an outdoor terrace almost hugging the Cathedral and the main square.  ROOM: I stayed in Room 103, so this review is based on that; VIEW: Sweet view of the half-timbered houses and the street; SIZE: Very spacious room; AIR-CON: No Aircon but the room was cool enough; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part to put me to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand in shower that was quite small; TOILETRIES: Good cosmetics.  FACILITIES: No Gym or Pool, just pure Viking Village chill!  SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all our needs with a smile and made us feel pampered and well taken care of. Special Shout out to the restaurant staff who helped with all my special requirements  HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free high-speed Wi-Fi (around 75 Mbps) that works well all over the property. And for an old heritage inn like this, I was shocked to see a Big Plasma TV screen dishing out dozens of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies and a wide variety of entertainment in multiple languages!

Très bel hôtel installé dans une bâtisse datant de la fin du XVIème siècle et situé en plein centre de Ribe, face à la cathédrale. Notre chambre (rénovée), de très belle taille, était située dans l'annexe : literie confortable, salle de bain spacieuse, chaussons à disposition, thé et café à discrétion (machine à l'entrée du bâtiment). Suite à un problème technique, le wifi ne fonctionnait pas. Le petit-déjeuner était servi, sous forme de buffet, dans l'établissement principal : très copieux et mets de qualité. Nous recommandons cet hôtel sans hésitation.
