The Castle House Luxury Bed & Breakfast

Great Guesthouse, very comfortable, beautiful furniture, really clean and excellent breakfast. The staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The Guesthouse is centrally situated and within easy reach of bars, restaurants and the Castle. Highly recommended.

The property was very clean and room spacious. The bed was terrible, most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. Hard and lumpy. It was so bad I had to sleep on the duvet with my sweater on as I was cold. Mattress needs to be replaced Parking was supposed to be free, we thought there was parking on the property but we had to find a parking spot in town and then ask for a free disc, which need to be changed every 12 hrs Breakfast was excellent

Highly Recommended This hotel is an absolute find! It really could not have been better. Exceptionally clean, warm welcome, you feel very 'looked after' by Nigel and his Team but in an unobtrusive way. Little touches like really good quality toiletries and a large bottle of water in the room all come together to make for a 5 star plus stay. Is superbly situated in Richmond Town Centre. Highly recommended.

Richmond stay Found the owner very pleasant and helpful. On arrival we got a free drink, breakfast was excellent. Accommodation clean and comfortable. He recommended a great place for our evening meal, which was across from B&B. Also B&B was about 100yds from town centre. Would stay again if we went to Richmond.

Disappointed On arrival we was asked to fill in a form which included our personal information this was left in the hallway as we stepped in the front door.We waited for someone to show us our room, on entry to the room we was offered a welcoming drink, The room wasn't what i expected due to the dust and dirt and old worn-out furniture .Windows with cobwebs and dirty ,Broken blinds, Fire place was covered in dust from the fire which must have been left for weeks due to the weather. Ornaments filled the walls and all around the room wasn't cleaned completely dusty. The chairs that sat in the room wasn't safe the legs were nearly off , the cover of the arms had holes in. There is a beautiful bath in the room, but not useful due to no place to put toiletries or towels. Dressing table was in the darker side of the room, no lights too be able to see to do make-up, nor no plugs for hairdryer, i really didn't expect to have to sit on the floor to do the above mentioned. The bathroom, was truly awful for hygiene reasons, who wants to use glasses that are sat on a shelf in line with the toilet.The bed itself was very comfortable and clean linen. Room service wasn't quite what we expected, the welcome drinks glasses were still sat in the room on Monday even though they staff been in the room to place the breakfast menu. No serving was given.Breakfast was good selection. dining room wasn't good, you sat in line alongside the other guests, table and chairs don't fit unless you sit at an angle.
