Although the outside of the hotel gives the vibe of an motel, the facilities are no lesser than any three star hotels.
The biggest trouble is that if you get the room in the second floor. There is no elevator, you have to carry your luggage up the stairs.
The town is quite small but it has everything including a big walmart, many restaurants. A convenient location to start the journey towards death valley.

Someone in the room above me walking constantly for 2 damn hours. Thump thump thump. Trucks on road noise loud. AC loud. Parking was a nightmare. Not happy. Room is nice, but this building is built terrible. The only other annoyance is trip advisor demanding 200 characters.

We checked in late and tired, and the front desk person was so very nice and welcoming. The room was clean and didn’t smell bad, and bed was comfy. What more could you want? Thanks Best Western China Lake!
