Hotels near Rimini/San Marino "Federico Fellini" Airport, Rimini

My wife and I stayed here last week for one night - but would love to come back and stay longer. Very near the amazing long beach south of Rimini (less than a block from the water). Rooms are very clean, new from the looks of things. Bed was very comfortable, bathroom was decent size as far as European hotels go (have been in hotels with much smaller bathrooms). Best part was the breakfast you get. Cool system they have going - when you check in they give you a menu checklist for the next day's breakfast. Put your room number on it and give it to the front desk staff the night before, and they'll put together what your order is for you the next morning. No buffet spoilage or waste - you get exactly what you asked for. The front desk staff member who checked us in (sorry, forgot his name) was hilarious - he wanted to see LOTS of food being checked off on the breakfast order, and when we handed it in he seemed mock annoyed that it wasn't enough. Very friendly, willing to offer suggestions, call a cab, etc. Would highly recommend the place, although it is far from Rimini's historical centre (about 5 km away). Our room rate was also the cheapest for one night we stayed anywhere in northern Italy, so it helps with keeping budgets reasonable.

We stayed here for a week in September and it was better than we expected! It is definitely not a 4 star hotel but the staff were amazing and so helpful. The pool was nice but not very deep. The complementary water bottles were good and it did feel safe, although, we kept our suitcases locked whenever we left the room. As other reviews mention, it is quite noisy and you can hear the odd person walking down the hallway and the other bathrooms, so I suggest bringing earplugs. The hotel is in a good location, close to lots of restaurants and amenities. The old town was lovely and we had a great time exploring. Overall, a good time!

We booked this hotel for only one night to make a snack with friends who were traveling to Riccione. We have also enjoyed the spa, the pool and the bikes available free of charge from the hotel, and the next morning we also tasted a pleasant breakfast, always served with a smile. We will take it as a future reference.

Lack of sunshine around the pool We stayed (3xAdult, 1xTeen) for four nights whilst attending a sporting event nearby. On entering the hotel, it looked pleasant. On entering our room however, we got old damp kind of smell. The fridge did not function and we reported it on several occasions and it was never fixed. We did have an issue with the plug in the bathroom sink, which they rectified by removing the plug entirely. Housekeeping staff did a great job in the limited conditions. The room is very narrow, there is luggage table behind the door, meaning you cannot open it fully, and the bathroom is old, dated, and prone to leeks. However, shower pressure is good. We were told halfway through our stay the hotel is under new management. This is bringing a full refurbishment over the coming months and so explains why we were awoken before 8am one morning to the sound of hammering and banging. Would we stay again, probably not. There are so many alternatives in the area with similarly great locations, but with better facilities, for similar prices.

Some doubts upon arrival, followed by some other doubts again with the outgoing reception (absence of useful information for simple, perhaps trivial curiosities, but that's it; absence of personnel in charge of baggage at the entrance of the cars; singular explanations which naturally led to use their parking at a cost 5 times higher than what is available…). The room is adequate, although the large information book contains accessibility to Sky (precisely from channel 401 onwards), which does not exist/cannot be reached. Compliments to the staff of the rooms, maintenance, swimming pool and breakfast in the morning. Finally, some doubts about the restaurant and, in particular, about the responses from those in charge of the wines. Thanks to Trip.com the stay cost an extremely interesting sum and, therefore, the opinion, at this price, is very interesting for a hotel, a national monument, like this one.

I am writing this review while my family and I are still in the hotel, just to make sure I will not forget anything. So....just to begin with....this could most probably be one of the most beautiful hotels in Cattolica, if not actually the nicest one and I will try to write a detailed review so that it is as clear as possible. Location - it is the only hotel located on the beach (literally) - you actually get out of the building and your feet will directly hit the sand :). Rooms/Cleanliness - we are travelling with our 1.7 years old baby girl so a clean room was absolutely mandatory in order for us to have a nice, relaxing stay. We definitely found that! The room was spotless and has been kept like that every day by the absolutely amazing cleaning ladies. I have read reviews saying that there were dirty bed sheets .... no no no. It was definitely not our case. Everything is literally spotless. I have also read reviews saying that the bathrooms need an upgrade. You guys....this is a historic place and from what I could tell, the owners definitely did their best to keep little pieces of history and combine them with new furniture and we believe they did an amazing job. If you expect to come in a place like this and find nothing of its historic charm.....then this is definitely not a good place for you. Restaurant - we have the all inclusive meal plan and we are definitely satisfied. Not only by the food but also by the incredible staff working in the restaurant! They are always smiling and nice (even though I am pretty sure this has been a pretty tough year for all the people working in the hotel business). Now....a message to the owner. Dear Sir.....you definitely manage the hotel with the most potential in Cattolica. I am sure you put a lot of work and soul into this structure because we could definitely see that in everything. However, there are some details missed, small things that could actually make a difference and I am only giving a few examples (even though my list is long :)): the things people see when entering the hotel's garage (that is most definitely not a four star view; the plastic flowers put on the tables of the bar - please please please replace them whith some big white candles and it would make such a different impression; please clean the terrace you have on the 4th floor and put some nice lounge chairs over there - the view up there is AMAZING and the hotel guests would definitely appreciate it (if the hotels' structure allows it, a little bar up there would be.....heaven!); do something about the hotel's ”backyard” because I know it is not your fault but that grafitti and those broken windows are not necessarily the nicest things to see.... and the list could go on. I would be more than happy to detail even more :). This hotel should be called the Imperiale Napoleanic Hotel. It has grandiose ambitions towards 4 stars whilst delivering a very disappointing experience to its guests. Despite the presence of antique items in the reception area, the reality is far less grand, much more in keeping with the uncomfortable plastic thrones on the terrace. Firstly..the room. Shabby, uncomfortable mattress and flat pillows, smelly bathroom with no working extraction system, no complimentary toiletries other than a tiny bar of soap and a shower cap. The fridge is off and empty, no tea & coffee and no drinking glasses. Now to the restaurant..oh dear !!. The decor is totally over the top, overlit to the point of being blinding, and horror of horrors, each table is decorated with a piece of coral in a bowl. Breakfast is supposed to be a buffet. It is not. A table separates the guests from the food trays and one must queue to point to the waiter to indicate what you would like him to place on your plate. My husband was shouted at on the first morning for wrongly picking up a large plate. He angered the waiter again when on another morning, being in a rush and finding no waiters in the restaurant he started to serve himself. What a nerve !!!! I only attended breakfast once. Far too stressful and the offerings are meagre. eg: the only fruits available were prunes and plums which the server handed to you in the tiniest of bowls. The management is not concerned with environmental issues, as the water and watered down juices are served in plastic cups. Why not a glass? The first course at dinner was also supposed to be a buffet. Again, one had to stand back and point to unidentified dishes and be served by the waiter. The next two pre- ordered courses were mostly inedible, followed by a no choice dessert. The staff in the hotel were not particularly friendly or helpful. I hated the atmosphere in the restaurant and if only other places were open nearby, would have eaten out. One evening we met some interesting fellow guests and were finishing off our drinks in the lounge area. At around 11.15 pm a member of management, who I nicknamed Lurkio, passed by a couple of times with a glowering expression and proceeded to turn lights off. There is NO way, in any stretch of the imagination, that this hotel deserves those 4 stars and should be re-assessed, in fairness to other hotels like the nearby Sans Souci which thoroughly deserves them. Don't even think about staying in this one. The only good thing about it is the proximity to the beach and there are plenty of hotels that benefit from that.

My partner and I went to Sans Souci for a week for some down time and it exceeded our expectations. We had a sea view room that was truly exquisite and the beach was literally on our doorstep. The staff were amazing and could not do enough for us. Claudio at reception was so friendly and helpful. The food was plentiful tasty and always fresh. Our waiter Lorenzo was very attentive with a great sense of humour, fluent in English and always made sure we felt looked after. The staff during dinner service were so welcoming and always willing to accommodate our needs. This hotel is not only good value for money but made our holiday experience better than we could have imagined. The hotel provided bicycles free of charge so we could cycle at our own leisure. We also had a day in the spa that was relaxing and a nice touch. Came back feeling thoroughly refreshed. We would highly recommend this hotel and can’t wait to return. Just under the old town Parking can choose the hotel's own parking for 16 Euros a day. You can also park outside the Blue Line parking space for 4 Euros a day. Good breakfast, the hotel's internal facilities are not very new, but you can also give a small cookie when you check out.

Siamo arrivati in tarda notte, già ci avevano consigliato male la via e quindi siamo andati da tutt’altra parte ..ma poca cosa. Abbiamo dormito e siamo partiti senza la prima colazione . Ma doveva essere solo un posto dove riposare . Abbiamo pagato in contanti anche avendo fatto la prenotazione tramite Booking. Nessuno ci ha informato anche se sul regolamento c ‘è scritto che comunque i soldi ci sarebbero stati tolti, quindi pot te vano dire lasci il pagamento con carta anche se avevamo espressamente scritto pagamento in struttura. Dopo 7 giorni dalla partenza mi sono reso conto che questi soldi non sono stati pre prenotati ma proprio tolti . Ho chiamato in struttura e una signorina non si è fatta carico, mi ha detto di scrivere una e-mail perché proprietario solo l’indomani avrebbe potuto controllare ed invece ha risposto alla mia e-mail di lamentele insultando visto che io avevo solo detto che domani essendo il 7 o 8 giorni dipende uno come conta sarei andata a fare denuncia dai carabinieri per riavere i miei soldi, perché non posso io interfacciarmi con Booking !! Non si sono scusati né hanno trattato il cliente come soggetto che ha comunque “sempre “ ragione. Bastava all’arrivo dirci che i soldi per 7/8 giorni non li avremmo rivisti. Visto che 5/7 giorni dalla data della partenza noi siamo partiti il 5 mattina presto ora sono passati . Le persone lavorano e fanno sacrifici se non ci fossimo accorti magari li avremmo anche persi. Perché non era una pre-ordine visto che sono stati contabilizzati e tolti e non solo bloccati. Per dire ciò ho inviato foto dell’addebito.
