counter staff member was fantastic and checked us in once rooms were ready, car park is a big advantage and is off street secure., pool up top is flash area. nice rooms which for the budget level were great.

I actually had 2 comfortable nights at this hotel but their website just kept on charging my credit card over and over. Thankfully, it showed up on my phone, so I was able to inform the staff and show them the receipt at the time. A very helpful front receptionist said he would contact the finance department and that when I checked out early the next morning' it would all have been rectified. When I went to reception, no one could help and I was told to wait for the manager who would be on duty after my flight left..... So far, no response from this hotel and no money back.I've contacted my credit card provider and so I now have to battle to get my money back. My experience of checking in was in I’m afraid to say, truly awful. I arrived at 5am and the older gentleman checking me in was ignorant. Apparently, he was the ‘English speaker’ on duty and he completely ignored me when I asked a question. I received no information whatsoever about breakfast times, where facilities in the hotel were and he didn’t even have the good manners to look up at me when I checked in, he just opened his hand for my passport. He started huffing and getting obviously irritated when I asked if it were possible to arrange a later breakfast as I wouldn’t be getting to bed u TIL 6am, despite having to pay for the hotel for the night before. The guy actually just ignored me until I asked him directly and he didn’t even look up and said ‘no’ in a really annoyed manner. Great customer service, thanks! Thankfully, when I had need to speak to reception staff during the day, this was a much better experience. I spoke to a young woman and on another occasion a young uni man who were friendly and helpful, so much so, I decided to stay again on my return trip the following week. That was up until they kept charging my credit card, firstly through the own hotels website that said the transaction failed but charged the credit card and then again when duplicate monies had been charged by the hotel. Mistakes happen. It it how quickly and satisfactorily they are sorted that makes the difference between staying there again and avoiding it. Would I recommend staying here? Yes, breakfast is good and the hotel was clean and quiet on the 19th floor. It is dated and could do with updating but it is not bad value when they don’t empty your bank account! Just pay in cash if you’re staying there and avoid that nasty old man on reception who works at night.

We were given the worst room in the hotel to start with. No window, small double bed… after we complained they moved us to a slightly better room but on the first floor with a window overlooking a car park... There were various issues throughout our stay, such as, the inconvenience of moving rooms, carrying our heavy luggage around. Also, we asked to add one extra day (a 5th day) to our booking. But on the 4th day the key card stopped working because it had not processed through their system that our stay had been extended so we could not get enter our room. So that was another trip downstairs to join the reception queue to try sort it… The breakfast was good, there was a selection of 4 natural fruit juices and the food never ran out and was always fresh. The swimming pool was small and they had a 1 hour slot booking system if you wanted to use it. The pool was crowded; there were people drinking beer in the pool and the water was a bit dirty and too warm. There weren’t enough sun loungers for everyone despite the booking system. They give you beach towels but make sure you know you will be charged if the towel is not returned to them. Checking out was a problem too. Our Uber was almost there to collect us and the hotel staff said they needed to check our room before we could leave, to see if we had consumed anything from the fridge in the room. I paid for the outstanding charges and I told them we hadn’t consumed anything and any issues please call, and I left. She gave me a look as I was leaving as if I was doing something wrong. Finally, I am still waiting for the reimbursement of the deposit I had to pay (500 reais) at check in - it’s now been 3 weeks. While we were there, I heard a couple at reception complaining about their car - the car park at the hotel was apparently full and the owner did not want his car to be parked elsewhere. Oh and lastly: I would say good evening to staff at the front door every time I walked past and NOT ONCE was I greeted in return.

My wife and I stayed in the hotel for 10 days for our honeymoon after receiving a recommendation from a friend. When we first arrived we were disappointed because the room had not been cleaned adequately (dirty carpet, stains and dead bugs in the bathroom) and despite informing the hotel we were coming for our honeymoon we didn’t receive any special welcome, for example a note or message from the hotel or chocolate gift as we saw others receive on Instagram. We complained to the reception about the cleanliness and the next morning the room was cleaned to our expectations, we were happy with how the complaint was handled. The hotel room we were given was an ocean view on the 10th floor. The view was amazing and we loved falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the ocean. However we feel that for the price and star rating of the hotel, the rooms need to be refurbished, the room feels dated and the bathroom finishings are not befitting of the hotel we expected from the pictures; messy paintwork and grouting, broken wooden furniture, poor quality shower and at one point there was no hot water so our first night was cold showers. We have stayed in lower and similarly priced and rated hotels and the quality of the room and bathrooms were better than this hotel. We used the tennis courts and gym during our stay which was a nice option. We both had the tropical Spa experience which was a wonderful and relaxing experience and the Spa staff were great. We chose the all inclusive option at the hotel and we were not disappointed with the selections available and the high quality of food on offer from the restaurants. The service from the staff at the restaurants was wonderful. The location of the hotel is excellent, after exploring the area we determined it has the best location of all the hotels in Ipanema / Leblon / Copacabana, because of the direct beach access to a “private” beach. Halfway through the stay we received a note in our room to say there was a problem with the pre payment and amount of consumption. We were very surprised because we had the all inclusive option and had not taken anything not included. We called the reception to inquire about the problem and the person was not able to explain what was the problem. (My wife is Brazilian so language was not the problem). We had to go down to the reception to speak with someone else, where we were told that the pre payment taken by the hotel was not enough to cover the cost of our stay (10 days) and so an additional payment was needed. The hotel knew we were staying for 10 days and should have known the total cost of our stay (excluding extras not included Ina lol inclusive), and taken the payment up front, rather than send us an ambiguously and informally written letter, halfway through the stay which the staff could not explain on the Phone. I was disappointed because in the hotel description, she says that there is a covered and heated pool. When we arrived the pools were disabled. I asked the receptionist and she told that it was a good time disabled. It would be good to take the swimming pool out of the hotel as a leisure item.

I spent four nights at this hotel, in a very nice area of Rio. Great facilities: magnificent rooms (standard), excellent bed and linen, very nice swimming pool (heated) with gorgeous views, pleasant common area, etc. The management, however, is not so good. Nothing serious or terrible, but not what you would expect from a Hilton hotel. E.g.: I was supposed to receive a free big bottle of water in my room, as part of the arrangement for my group; I did not received it and I was told that I should pay for it if I wanted it; in addition, I was asked, when checking our, to pay for 2 bottles! (when I ordered just one). I complained and no charge was made finally but it gave me a poor impression about the level of care for the details one would expect in a hotel of this category. Moreover, in a place what you cannot drink water from the tap safely, the management should provide with courtesy drinking water for every guest, as is usual in most places. About the food: very good in the restaurant, reasonably priced (but obviously not cheap). However, the breakfast was disappointing: little variety and quality in the fruit (in a place such as Brazil!!!), slow service for the eggs or tapioca you ordered, and little variety of bread and pastry, as well as other deficiencies (quality of cheese, ham or salami, etc.). A special positive mention for the cleaning personnel: very efficient and nice, always respected the requests I made about timing. Bravo.

The reviews said that this hotel had good customer service. That is, of course, if you do not have to deal with receptionist Porfirio Fonte. My wife and I booked this hotel for two nights. We made the reservation over the phone and asked if we could do an early check-in. We were told to call the day of arrival to check if there were rooms available. We called and we were told to head to the hotel since there were rooms available for early check in. When we got to the hotel, receptionist Porfirio Fonte asked for the name in the reservation (it was under my wife’s). Without even looking at us, he told us that we needed to check in online and pointed at a QR code. Mind you, the reception was completely empty, but he did not want to help us (we were having problems with the internet connection). After we finished, he told us that there were no rooms available for early check in “for the rate we were paying.” We explained to him that we called the hotel, and we were told that there were rooms available. He did not want to hear it. He insisted that he did not have any rooms available at the price we were paying. However, he told us that if we wanted to upgrade, he will give us a room immidiately (basically, he was trying to push us to upgrade). I do not know if this is company policy. If it is, the hotel should put a warning when it offers different rates, for example: “if you choose the lowest room rate, we will look down on you and disrespect you.” I asked the receptionist for his name, and he ignored me completely. After the third time, he finally told me his name. He needed my ID, and even though I was standing right in front of him, he asked my wife for it. I complained to him and told him that he did not have to treat us like that. In a very threatening manner and practically yelling at me, he asked me “if I had a problem with him.” Once again, I tried to explain to him that we called the hotel, and we were told that there were rooms available. I understand that mistakes can be made and perhaps the person over the phone gave us the wrong information. All receptionist Porfirio Fonte needed to say was: “I am sorry, you were giving the wrong information, but I will try to get you a room as soon as one becomes available” (you know, Customer Service 101). But, I guess being professional was too much for him as he went on about our hotel rate. After much insistence, he finally told us that if a room becomes available before 2 pm (it was 11 am), he will give it to us. We asked him if he could call us to let us know, but he refused. Instead, he told us to call the hotel. At that point, and based on the way receptionist Porfirio Fonte treated us, my wife and I concluded that: (1) There is no way he is going to give us a room before 2 pm; and (2) He is going to give us the worst room he has. When we arrived at 2 pm, there was a long line at the reception. We had the opportunity to observe receptionist Porfirio Fonte in action. He did not ask any gues
