Holiday Inn Express & Suites Rio Grande City

I can't believe how utterly disappointing our experience was! My husband, exhausted from a four-hour drive for his business trip, arrived at the hotel only to be told they had overbooked. No courtesy call, no apology. He had to drive another hour to find a place to stay. Absolutely unacceptable! Don't trust them; they'll give away your room without a second thought. What a nightmare!

I recently had a pleasant 2 night stay at the HIE in Rio Grande City. Check in was straightforward and my room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable and there were adequate towels and amenities. I believe they even serviced my room which is a rare occurrence these days. The area feels safe although when I left early one morning there were several servicemen in camo gear carrying assault rifles over their shoulder while out smoking a cigarette on the side of the hotel. Really, is this necessary?

The hotel was very clean. The lady at the front desk was very nice and issued our room as soon as we got there. Rooms were clean and had a very good breakfast. Beds were comfy. We felt very safe. We would recommend this hotel and would definitely be back.

We stay here a few times a year when we come visit family. The hotel is great. Clean, comfortable and safe. Parking is easy and the manager and front desk ladies have always been kind. They recently upgraded their bath products and TVs. Definitely exceeded our expectations of a 2 or 3 star hotel.
