Great view! Yuum Ha Hotel location was very nice and right across from the malecon. The pool was better than expected and great for cooling off in. The staff were very friendly and especially Bernaby (Barnaby) and Julie. We loved walking to Sendero Peten Mac and making use of a mototaxista Juan who we used for an excursion to San Felipe and Las Coloradas and playa Cancunito. Juan has a mototaxi that has good shade and he was friendly and pointed out crocodiles in mangroves at the side of the road. It was only 20 minutes by mototaxi to San Felipe and 40 minutes to Las Coloradas. You can contact Juan through the hotel’s front desk staff. The posted hotel rules regarding no outside beverages or food even in rooms, seemed very unreasonable and so we ignored the rule. We did also eat and drink in the hotel restaurant area.

There were a lot of good things about this hotel, it was clean and comfortable. Lots of towels and decent shampoo/soap, and a nice mini fridge stocked with snacks if you like (junk food snacks, of course). We had dinner at their restaurant and it was absolutely delicious. We were on the third floor and went up to the roof to watch the sunset - it was gorgeous. Unfortunately, I came to this hotel to sleep and I didn’t at all. There was music blasting until 12:30am, dogs barking all night long, and motorcycles driving on the road in front of the hotel all night long. I’m not sure if the music was coming from the bar at the hotel or if it just carried, but I could hear the words clearly over the AC fan on high. My husband slept with ear plugs in and he still heard it all. So, yes, it is a nice a hotel but it’s not sound proof at all, so if you’re not a heavy sleeper, try a different hotel or a different town.

We spent a week here and it was fabulous. Great food and the exceptional staff gives personalized service. Location is on water. Watch the fishermen or at dusk locals shrimping. Quiet small quaint one of our best locations we have stayed in Mexico

The floor was pretty dusty. Bed and bath were okay. The included breakfast was a bad joke. 2 croissants for 2 people a little bit of fruit and a spoon full of yoghurt. The workers don’t seem to be working there either. We tried the restaurant and had 2 different meals. The only thing that could possibly explain the price would be the size of the meat.

Zijn doordeweeks in Rio Lagartos geweest. Naar een boat tour hebben wij een restaurant gezoekt. Er is alleen een aantal restaurants eb Rio Lagartos, maar dit restaurant valt op! Heel lekker gegeten, zeer vriendelijke service door Juan en zijn collegas. Echt een Aanrader: Octopus al grill en Fish Tum Bak Kii(?!) ofzoiets 😅! 👍

Excelente opcion para hospedarte en el destino, no cuenta con elevador las habitaciones limpias, falta un poco de mantenimiento pero eso es funcional. los desayudos excelente y nuestra cena muy buena.

Rio Lagartos est un havre de paix ! l'hôtel est bien situé face à la lagune. La chambre est convenable mais la décoration et la salle de bain sont d'un autre temps ! La piscine ne semble pas d'une propreté parfaite, nous n'avons pas osé nous y baigner. Le personnel est sympathique, le petit déjeuner très bon. Une bonne adresse pour une escale lors d'un circuit mexicain.

Prachtige moderne kamer met zicht op het water. Goeie muziek. Zeer vriendelijk personeel. Heeeeel lekker gegeten, zowel s morgens als 's avonds. Enig minpunt is dat er geen airco is in het restaurant. Wel in de kamers. Auto op straat geparkeerd zonder enig risico. Bij het binnenrijden van Rio lagartos wordt je al meteen tegengehouden door tourorganisaties die allerlei boottochten aanbieden. Laat je niet van de kaart brengen. Vraag gerust prijs bij ze allemaal wanneer je effectief aan het water bent. Verwacht echter niet dat je gratis vaart, maar afdingen kan zeker. Uiteindelijk bieden ze allemaal hetzelfde voor dezelfde prijs... maar doe zeker een boottocht, het is fantastisch! Wij hebben wasberen, krokodillen en flamingo gezien. En zelfs dolfijnen van heel dichtbij.
