My wife and I spent 11 nights at the Savoy Palace in Riva del Garda. The minute you walk through the gates to the reception you appreciate the standard of the hotel. Once inside the staff look after you, every one of them are friendly and want to help you. The rooms are clean and of a fair size, we had one on the 4th floor, the view was of the mountains on both sides. The dining room is large with air conditioning, we had a table by a window which gave you the feeling of eating outside. The breakfast was excellent from all types of eggs, meats, cereal, fresh fruit etc. Evening meal was 4 courses and was a varied menu. The staff were happy to help with the translation of the menu. The outside pool and grounds were very nice and well maintained. We could not fault the hotel or staff and will be looking forward to returning in a couple of years. Thank you for a great stay .

An excellent hotel in a delightful location. Hotel staff all very accommodating and professional. We usually book bed and breakfast but decided for half board and very pleased we did. The food and service was excellent. A lovely atmosphere in the dining room. For a hotel the drinks prices a very reasonable, compared to hotel prices in the UK. Many thanks to everyone at the Savoy Palace for a lovely holiday.

First time at this hotel in beautiful Riva Del Garda having previously been to their sister hotel last year.Well positioned and stroll to centre of about 15/20 mins. Lakeside 5 min walk. My husband and I had a wonderful experience and most certainly if back again which there’s every possibility of, we’ll certainly choose this hotel. Beautiful pool area and flowers in abundance! Attentive caring staff and owner always present and hands on overseeing all aspects in dining area. Food extremely good in our view as was service and a reasonable selection. Owner genuinely wanted to ensure visitors were happy with everything and took time to go round tables chatting to guests. Only one criticism which would be housekeeping could be improved upon so I mention this in the hope that it can be addressed. All other expectations met and probably exceeded! Well done everyone! We hope to see you again.

Summary: This is best described as a 4-star hotel on a budget, and in lots of ways manages to achieve just that. But in doing so your 4-star experience will feel like a 3-star, it’ll lack a sense of being special, and if you’re used to staying in 4-star accommodation or greater this hotel will inevitably go down as one of the lesser experiences you come across. All that said, its location is excellent, its cleanliness can’t be faulted, and it is at the end of the day affordable against other 4-star options. Hence a solid 3 out of 5 rating from us. It neither goes above and beyond, nor goes without its issues, nor is terribly poor either. It just sort of delivers a middle-of-the-road overall experience. There are other recent reviews by active UK reviewers speaking to this effect, and I think they’re fair and accurate reviews. They’re worth a read below. Useful Info about Location: 1. Riva is the adventure sport capital of this region. Whether it’s climbing, mountaineering, mountain biking, water sport, or parasailing - Riva sits at the heart of it all. As such, the location of the hotel is perfectly situated on the eastern edge of the town - the gateway to the sports, and there are many many rental places to choose from. If you’re visiting Riva for restaurants, ferry tours of Garda, or quiet Italian gardens - you’re better off staying a mile or two further west where you’ll be closer to the old town and ferry terminal (or indeed choosing somewhere other than Riva). 2. This hotel charges for water. You can buy bottled water affordably for 56p/L at the Co-Op supermarket which is about 10 minutes by foot. It was one of the first things we did and probably saved us close to £40. 3. There is one main well-tarmaced bike ride north via the river into wine land, and a lovely little restaurant called Bike and Wine. It’s well worth the effort to get there. Other bike rides are more off-road and even some of the green routes would be otherwise labelled blue in the UK. We can highly recommend Happy Bike which is a 5min walk from the hotel. 4. Segnana Watersports is also about a 5min walk from the hotel and has very experienced instructors. It’s priced slightly higher than we expected, and that’s possibly due to their slight monopoly on the area, but their customer service and instruction is excellent. 5. A topographical map of the region is worth investing in if you like outdoor pursuits. The good: The grounds and interior, including accommodation, are well presented, clean, and tidy - and it’s clear that both housekeeping, bar staff, and grounds keepers take a lot of pride in their work in the morning when they prepare the hotel. The pool is nice and an adequate size for the numbers of guests. In the sun it’s a nice play to be. I should note that my daughter found a used tampon in the pool which sat at the side all day - which while a likely accident, does reveal the preoccupation of the hotel during peak guest hours on selling drinks as o

The grounds are beautifully kept and we found everywhere very clean. Our room was fine, but agree with other reviews that they could be updated. No kettle or tea making facilities available in the room, but free safe and also a fridge. Slippers and robes were also provided. Rooms cleaned to a high standard. We were half board. Couldn’t fault the breakfast as there were so many choices available. You select your evening meal in the morning. My friend and I both struggled with selecting an option. Although very nicely presented and served, we found some of the choices strange. Veal was on the menu a couple of nights as the only meat option. Chicken nuggets and chips and burger and chips on the menu seemed to be aimed at the British taste, but strange to have two nights on the menu for chicken nuggets for adults. It was mainly geared for German taste I think. Staff were lovely and helpful especially Maria on the reception. The card that you can get from reception offers free bus travel and reduced fares on the ferry and free entry to some attractions which was great. Good location as very peaceful but only a short walk away from the front of the lake. Evening entertainment was a keyboard player and just couples dancing every night so only really suited for anyone that enjoys that type of music and dancing. I really enjoyed the stay there and the hotel should be very proud of the wonderful staff they have as they were all so nice and polite and helpful.

Spent a wonderful week at The Savoy Palace at Riva. Yes the rooms are a little dated compared to others, but the beds are comfy, the air con works and not noisy, shower is powerful and the rooms are cleaned daily, what more do you need. The breakfast is varied, pools are lovely. The evening meals at the restaurant are excellent, varied, well cooked to high restaurant quality. Staff are lovely and hard working to make sure your stay is memorable. The bar is a great place to relax for an evening and the drinks are not overpriced, sometimes has live entertainment. Would we return to the Savoy Palace, yes we would.

The gardens were beautifully kept, lovely flowers everywhere. While we were there, new loungers were placed around the pool, nice to see some money being invested in the hotel. Less impressed with the room, 430, we had requested two beds and were surprised to find three in the room!! This meant the room was very cramped . There was no easy chair, just a plastic chair. Lack of storage, only two drawers and plastic bedside tables. No tea/coffee making facilities. The bed was quite hard and uncomfortable, had to ask for mattress toppers. The shower was acceptable. All the staff were lovely, polite and friendly. Food was quite nice, some of it was beautifully presented. if you like fish, you will love it!! Couldn’t drink some of the drinks, for example Pimms made with ginger ale, not lemonade?? Nice low key entertainment in the evening, a gentleman playing keyboard and singing. Overall I enjoyed it, but would I return? No

Wow what can we say about this fantastic hotel and the staff. You could not fault anything not anything. The hotel was perfect the staff were all so professional but so friendly too, nothing was too much trouble for them and they were looking after a lot of guests. The food was excellent ( far too much) but we managed to get through!!! I am vegetarian my daughter is pescatarian and we always had a great choice. The salads alone are a perfect meal, so much choice. The breakfasts were amazing. The rooms were Spotless and cleaned every day plus fresh towels and robes every day. The whole hotel was so clean and beautiful along with the fabulous flowers everywhere the gardens were so well kept. The pool was great and the gardens pool bar was fabulous. Entertainment in the evenings was superb and a great area , so relaxing and the general atmosphere was so chilled throughout the hotel. There is everything nearby a very short walk to the Lake and beach , beautiful walk into Riva along the Lake, I am not very mobile but managed it as it is so flat. Riva was great much more than I expected, truly great town. To be surrounded by the Lake and Mountains was Joyous. The view from our balcony was of Mountains mountains mountains and beautiful surroundings . The vibe of this area is sporty, family holiday, couples everything just blending into one happy place to be. We will definitely be returning, we are already booking for 2025. There is so much more to say but think you might understand that this Hotel is Special and the surrounding area with the beautiful Lake and Mountains are wonderful. A big Hello to Maria on Reception and divine Julia our special waitress so professional and so sweet. To all of the waiters waitresses bar staff chefs reception cleaners gardeners our lovely maintenance guy who helped fix wheelchair. Thank you for giving myself and my daughter the best holiday ever!!! Plus the best weeks sleep we’ve had in a long time, the beds were so comfortable and plenty of room. ❤️❤️ Room 318 ……..3-10 July 2024

Set in a lovely part of Riva Del Garda. Pretty much relaxed peaceful hotel to stay in. Lovely backdrop of mountains from the pool area. All the staff we came into contact with were respectful, kind and maintained a professional manner. David went above and beyond during our time there. The guy is on another level. Many a good conversation had with him. The food was delicious. Buffet not bad either.

This is supposed to be a 4 star🌟 Hotel but absolutely no way! I am a solo traveller and I particularly asked for a nice room a with a decent view. My nice room was "cupboard " sandwiched between large rooms on either side. There was no kettle, no crockery of any sort, no glasses, a tatty wardrobe that wouldn't close properly because it needed adjusting meaning the drawer underneath was inaccessible. I went to reception and spoke to someone called Maria, who seemed to be in charge, and told her I was extremely unhappy with my accommodation. Absolutely no joy there whatsoever. I spoke to the TUI rep the following morning who was kind, courteous and tried to help but no joy there either, but he did try. This Maria on reception really couldn't care less. The food was absolutely REVOLTING - ENOUGH SAID ON THAT! Some of the outside areas were passable, but then they always are, aren't they - the bits we see in the brochure. I definitely would not recommend this hotel at all..

The hotel is in a good location. The rooms were clean and reasonable. Paid for half board but was very disappointed with the evening meals. There were no vegetarian options for main meals and when asking the the staff they seemed not to understand. Both my husband and myself ended up eating Salad and did not even bother going down on the last day as they were all meat options for mains. For this reason would not visit again and urge any travellers who are vegetarian to avoid unless they start to cater for this group.

We had a warm welcome, the service and staff were friendly and attentive. The grounds are beautifully maintained, with lovely flowers. We had a twin room with a balcony and views to the mountains. The self service breakfast was amazing, with a huge variety to suit most people. The four course evening meal was excellent, with a buffet salad to start. We would not hesitate to return to this wonderful place.
