Lovely hotel right near everything. I always love the city. It's a quiet guest house too.

Nice and spacious. Check in and out were very simple and easy. I love everything about it. Very close to city center and within walking distance. Worth every penny spent on it. Would recommend it to anyone

Would not recommend this guesthouse to a single or elderly lady on their own , felt unsafe . Needs up dating , and facilities poor . Ok it was in a good location for stadium, but walking back felt unsafe and front door open to non guests. Felt very unsafe overnight and didn’t sleep well as no management are actually there. The room had damaged shower, large cracked sink and toilet not functioning well . Tv didn’t work and very stained carpet , which makes you wonder how often the rooms were deep cleaned. Would not stay here again and been charged £253 per night was a joke. This was a very poor budget guesthouse and would definitely not recommend especially when there is entertainment on in the city

We stayed for one night to see a concert and paid£253.00 for a twin room. The location was great for the stadium as it’s only a 5 minute walk away. However I think that was the best thing about this guesthouse. The room had a cracked sink in the bathroom, the tv did not work and one of the main lights didn’t work. It was noisy most of the night and I didn’t feel very safe as the front door is always unlocked and the management do not stay there so if you have an issue you have to call them. Finally outside there was 10 black bags of rubbish!!!

I needed a place to stay after Bruce Springsteen show in Cardiff and naturally every hotel in the city raised their prices to ridiculous amounts. Austin Guest House was no exception but Austin Guest House was the only place I could afford. However I was disgusted to pay £255 for a dirty mouldy single basement room with no window, no shower, and no toilet, it was NOT worth the money. It's 30 seconds away from the stadium which is the only good thing about it and maybe the other rooms are nice but mine was disgusting. The room absolutely reeked of damp and **** and pee. I don't think it had been cleaned since the last person stayed there. As a solo female traveller I felt very unsafe that the guesthouse is completely unstaffed. There is nobody working onsite to check you in or deal with concerns, there is no security for any of the rooms. And with no working lock in the shared bathroom, and flimsy locks on the bedroom doors I felt extremely unsafe. Speaking of the shared bathroom - shower is covered in black mould and there was no toilet paper for a toilet to be shared by rooms on the ground and basement floors. Walls are paper thin, you can hear everyone snoring, shouting, arguing, puking all night long. I know that hotels raise their price during event days at the stadium and you might feel like this is your only option, but maybe see if you can sleep in the train station, it would be preferable and likely safer than this

It's very reasonably priced and in a perfect central location. Central enough to walk around but not on the main street, so a quiet night sleep is guaranteed! Only downside is the slightly off smell of the carpets/exterior (a couple of plug in air freshners would make a huge difference!) will happily stay again!

Pros: good location, close to the station and easy to get to. Very clear check in instructions. Cheap price and decent cleanliness. Comes with tea making facilities. There’s heating in the room. Cons: small room, none of the sockets in my room worked (so couldn’t make tea even though a kettle was provided). Bad soundproofing - could hear upstairs watching something till well past midnight!
