Stonehill's Farmhouse

Booked through their internal website. Was not informed that there was a wedding same time. Was not informed that dance floor was 20 feet from the cabin we booked. Really really loud and kept our kids awake. We informed the property we had kids when we booked. No response from the phone number when I asked how long to expect wedding would go on so I could prepare our kids while it was going on. Nice spot but property way too small for ad hoc guests and wedding at the same time. Could not use property in afternoon when wedding photos being taken and could not use shared spaces in main house. Had to take kids elsewhere. No understanding or accommodation from on site staff about how that changes experience. Would double confirm no wedding if you are booking. Property should acknowledge their own space limitations and inform or not book other guests when wedding going on. It turns it into a different much more curtailed and stressful experience.

Room #4 was way too small for two adults. It would be a great place for a wedding but as an inn, I thought it was overhyped and overpriced. They advertise a "classic tub" but it was a standard tub. They advertise a fire in a pit but no fire was lit. Maybe the amenities would be better on weekends. The free breakfast was very basic (sugary cereal, grocery store pastries). The staff person was very nice. The owner was lovely.

We stayed here one night. Our original accommodations were canceled due to an electrical outage. Little did we know, this would be a lucky turn of fate. I found Stonehill's on TripAdvisor, and we decided to stay there. The property is absolutely beautiful & well maintained. There are animals roaming about the farm, which, being an animal lover, I found so endearing and warm. They have wonderful common spaces with fire pits and lots of cozy places to sit and relax. Our room very clean, tons of unexpected amenites, including a small fan. I always need a fan to sleep (I travel with a veyr small one), but there was one in the room, which I have never experienced even at 5 star hotels - a cute little desktop Vornado. There was a generouly stocked honor bar, the bed and bed linens SO comfortable. The bathroom was impeccalbe with top notch bath products and everything you could need. The continental breakfast (included in the room rate) was very generous with lots of different options. The bar and bartender, Carly, are phenomenal, as is the property manager, Nate. This is not what you would expect for such a small establishment out in the countryside. This place is a true find and GEM!!! I cannot recommend it highly enough. We will definitely be back.
